02/2022 I have a 2016 GLE 350 with 31,000 miles. Safety issue: steering column sensor has failed thus blind spot assist does not work. Also turn signals periodically do not work. Functionality usually restores if car shut-off & re-started. Then fails again later at varying intervals.
I AM EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH MY ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM, THAT OTHER MB MODELS OF THE SAME YEAR AND CLASS ARE EXPERIENCING. SOME OF THE 2016 GLE'S HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE, BUT MY VEHICLE/VIN HAS NOT BEEN INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I RECEIVE THIS ERROR MESSAGE WHEN TURNING A CURVE. MY VEHICLE IS UNDER WARRANTY AND MB WILL NOT PAY FOR THIS WITH MY CPO WARRANTY. THE DEALERSHIP HAS QUOTED ME $6984.00 TO FIX THE ISSUE. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS MATTER BECAUSE I THINK THAT MY VEHICLE/VIN SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED WITH THE CURRENT RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER 18V27200. MY ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM HAS BEEN LEAKING OIL. I AM CONCERNED AS THIS IS A FIRE HAZARD AND SAFETY ISSUE. I CAN SMELL THE OIL BURNING AS WELL AS SEE IT FOAMING FROM THE FLUID CANISTER.

I RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FROM MERCEDES BENZ REGARDING THE SAFETY OF MY VEHICLES POWER STEERING WHICH COULD GO OUT AT ANY TIME, CHANGING FROM AUTOMATIC TO MANUAL CONTROL. THE LETTER STATED "THE POWER STEERING ASSIST MAY DEACTIVATE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH." I CALLED MERCEDES BENZ USA AND WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT GUARANTEE 100 % THAT THE CAR WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. THEY STATED THEY HAVE NO PARTS TO FIX PROBLEM AND WOULD SEND ANOTHER LETTER AS PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE. I EXPLAINED I DO MOUNTAIN DRIVING WEEKLY WHICH INCLUDES CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS THRU OUT THE YEAR, THEREFORE THIS RESPONSE IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. I WAS TOLD IT WAS UP TO ME IF I CHOSE TO PARK THE CAR AND NOT DRIVE IT UNTIL THEY HAVE PARTS (IN A MONTH OR SO). THE GENTLEMAN TOLD ME THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THE EXACT PROBLEM IS.
