This page combines three types of NHTSA data: recall campaigns (official manufacturer or government actions), owner complaints (unverified consumer reports), and crash test ratings (where available). A vehicle with many complaints is not necessarily less reliable — complaint volume correlates with sales volume and vehicle age. Recalls indicate identified defects, not overall quality. To compare this model year with others, use the year navigation in the sidebar or return to the model overview page.
2015 Nissan Frontier, air bag light came on, replaced clock spring, and no fault found, no change to air bag warning, blinking light still on.
My daughter was in an accident where she struck another vehicle. She was traveling between 35-40 mph. Her airbag did not deploy. Her face and chest struck the steering wheel. She suffered a concussion and whiplash.

Dangerous lurching and sometimes with not engage. Other Nissan models have the same problem. The diagnostic code is U0101 bad communication between TCM and Vehicle.
Engine light came on, and vehicle accelerated, then lost acceleration while revolutions increased. Diagnosis indicates Bad TCM. I went to 3 shops, and all said that the TCM are going bad, especially Infinity. Nissan wants to charge $500 just to try to reset it. The Dealership is the only ones that can perform this task.
Air bag light began blinking. I brought it to a nissan dealer for service and that have replaced and charged me for multiple parts in excess of $2,000.00. They stated my car was ready and repaired. Upon picking up my car the light was still blinking. They stated it's additional parts and cost to finish repair but if I wanted the car for the weekend I can have it and return when the parts come in. They were going to give my car back to me with a defective air bag system which I feel is extremely unsafe. They also damaged my front bumper which they had to repair. I don't feel they changed out some parts they charged me for. The car has been with them for repair since 08/22/2024. Nissan is not standing behind their product or safety.
I bought a 2015 Nissan Frontier SV from Elite auto dealership in Wichita, Ks on Dec 30-2021. After driving a car over one month, My car gets check engine light indicator turned on. I called the Elite auto dealership salesman to ask for getting my car fixed. However, my car salesman refused to fix it up. Therefore I would like you to help me to make Elite auto dealership take their responsibility to fix my car or refund my money back. Sincerely.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the hood inadvertently opened and slammed into the windshield and the roof of the vehicle. The contact was able to pull over and secure the hood via bungie cords. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic and was awaiting repair. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 29,000.
Collision into heavy BUS that crossed my path. Nissan totaled, airbags failed with high speed crash 55 plus mph with injuries. The passenger seat airbag light always stayed on since purchase. Nissan doing all they can to get out of the situation. Lots of excuses. Turned issue over to my insurance company to try to resolve with Nissan.
DROVE FOR AN HOUR, PARKED FOR 20 MINS STARTED PROCEEDING SOUTH DRIVE ABOUT 500FT TO MAKE RIGHT TURN WHEN VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED OUT OF CONTROL REVING UP SWIRVING OUT IF CONTROL ON THE NORTHBOUND LANE ALMOST HITTING CARS AND A TREE. FINALLY I GOT IT TO STOP BY BREAKING AND PARKED AT THE SIDE OF THE STREET IN THE SOUTHBOUND LANE. I THOUGHT I WAS ABOUT TO CRASH KILL SOME ONW AND DIE. THIS WAS AN UNNERVING TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE
I HAVE A 2015 NISSAN FRONTIER SV WITH ONLY 21,514 MILES AND THE RADIATOR HAS A LEAK. NO FRONT END DAMAGE AND ALL MAINTENANCE WAS DONE BY SELLER (PERFORMANCE NISSAN) IN POMPANO BEACH FLORIDA. NO EXTENDED WARRANTY WAS PURCHASED BUT THEY DO HAVE A 20 YEAR/200,000 POWER TRAIN WARRANTY BUT THEY WON'T COVER THE RADIATOR. *TR
PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY MANAGED TO BIND BETWEEN AXLE AND BRAKE ROTOR CAUSING CATASTROPHIC FAILURE. RIGHT REAR WHEEL LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING VERY NEARLY CAUSING A CRASH. PHOTO IS FROM INVESTIGATION
THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT HAS BEEN FLASHING ON MY INSTRUMENT PANEL SINCE SPRING OF 2019. BROUGHT TO A COUPLE DIFFERENT PLACES AND THEY CAN'T CLEAR THE CODE. SAYS NO AIR BAG DETECTED. I HAVEN'T FIXED IT YET...CUZ I AIN'T GOT THE MONEY. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON HIGHWAY WHEN LIGHT CAME ON. THERE IS NO VARYING OF LIGHT...STAYS ON CONTINUALLY.
DASHBOARD AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING RANDOMLY IN NOVEMBER 2018. WHEN FRONT PASSENGER WAS PRESENT. I SCHEDULED SERVICE WITH DEALER PER MANUAL AND TECHNICIAN CLEARED CODE. AIRBAG SENSOR WENT OFF YESTERDAY 2/16/19 SAME ISSUE WHEN FRONT PASSENGER WAS SEATED AGAIN. DEALER STATED ISSUE NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. THEY SAID IT WAS A $1000 FIX???? I MY HUMBLE OPINION THIS IS A CATASTROPHE SAFETY CONCERN AND ASKING CONSUMER TO FIX IS ABSURD AND SHAMEFUL.
EVAP TUBE, EVAP CANISTER VALVE, AND EVAP CANISTER MALFUNCTION. CAN NOT PUMP INTO CAR WITHOUT IT SPILLING BACK OUT OF VEHICLE. NISSAN NEEDS TO COVER THIS CAR UNDER THEIR EVAP EMISSION WARRANTY POLICY ENHANCEMENT.
WHILE OPERATING VEHICLE THE HEADLIGHTS BECOME DIM, AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE INSPECTED THE HEADLAMP CONNECTOR WAS MELTED AND THE WIRING WAS OVERHEATED. THE HARNESS WAS REPLACED BY A NISSAN DEALER AND IT MELTED AGAIN 3 WEEKS LATER. NISSAN HAS HAD ENGINEERS AND MULTIPLE DIAGNOSTIC SPECIALISTS LOOK AT THIS PROBLEM AND HAVE FOUND NO SOLUTION. IT IS OBVIOUS THEY HAVE USED TO SMALL OF A WIRE ON THE GROUND AND NOT SUPPORTED IT CORRECTLY IN THE CONNECTOR AS THE MELTING ALWAYS BEGINS WITH THE GROUND WIRE. THIS HAS OCCURRED ON OVER 500 TRUCKS.
PASSENGER SENSOR LIGHT COMES WHILE DRIVING THEN RESETS WHEN ENGINE RESTARTED. THIS HAPPENS A COUPLE TIMES THEN AIRBAG LIGHT IN CONSOLE STARTS FLASHING PERMANENTLY. THE PERSON SITTING IN THE SEAT IS EASILY 250 LBS SO IT MUST BE A SENSOR IR EVEN ISSUE. HAD A DEALER CHECK IT ONCE AND NO ERROR CODE SHOWS UP
WHEN MY WIFE SITS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT THE AIR BAG LIGHT DID NOT GO OFF UNLESS SHE BOUNCES IN THE SET A COUPLE TIMES. STATING THAT THERE WAS IN AN INFANT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT.
CAR WAS PARKED ENGINE RUN FLAMES STARTED TO COME UP BY THE BATTERY SIDE .FOUND OUT THAT THE 2012 -2014 FRONTIERS HAD A RECALL FOR WIRE HARNESS CATCHING FIRE.
BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR PEDAL PLACEMENTS AND OPERATION ARE DANGEROUS. THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSES TOO FAR BEFORE ENGAGING THE BRAKES AND IS TOO CLOSE TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO WORK WITH THIS BRAKING CHARACTERISTIC. A BOOT OR WIDE SHOE CAN OVERHANG THE EDGE OF THE BRAKE PEDAL AND ENGAGE THE ACCELERATOR BEFORE BRAKING BECOMES EFFECTIVE. THE ENGINE RACES, YOU PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL HARDER, DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR MORE, RACING THE ENGINE EVEN MORE... ONCE THE CYCLE STARTS YOU MUST USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE OR THROW IT INTO NEUTRAL TO PREVENT FORWARD MOTION. THEN FINALLY TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE 'BRAKE' -WHICH ALSO RELEASES THE ACCELERATOR. THE BRAKES NEED TO ENGAGE BEFORE THEY DEPRESS TO THE SAME PLANE AS THE ACCELERATOR.
