TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM SUDDENLY ACTIVATED CAUSING VEHICLE TO ABRUPTLY STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FAILURE HAD OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER COURTESY NISSAN OF TAMPA LOCATED AT 3800 W HILLSBOROUGH AVE, TAMPA, FL 33614 WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000.
EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM HAS ACTIVATED 5 DIFFERENT TIMES WITH NO OBSTRUCTIONS IN FRONT OF VEHICLE. ALL TIMES I WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY DOING AROUND 65 MPH WHEN BRAKING ACTIVATED. IT WAS A FREIGHTING EXPERIENCE.
IF I HAVE SAFETY SHIELD TURNED ON , THE CAR ATTEMPTS TO BREAK WHEN OTHER CARS DRIVE NEXT TO ME. THERE WILL NOT BE ANY CARS IN FRONT OF ME, BUT THE VEHICLE ATTEMPTS TO BREAK. I HAVE TO APPLY MORE GAS TO KEEP MY CAR FROM STOPPING WHEN IT SHOULDN'T. I KEEP REPORTING THIS ISSUE TO THE DEALERSHIP, BUT THEY ASSURE ME EVERYTHING IS FINE. I HAVE ALSO MADE IT A POINT TO WIPE THE CRASH SENSORS AND CAMERAS CLEAN BEFORE DRIVING, BUT I AM STILL HAVING THIS PROBLEM. I AM ALSO HAVING A PROBLEM WHEN USING THE CRUISE CONTROL FEATURE. IF CRUISE CONTROL IS SET ON, THERE IS A DELAY OF ABOUT 2-5 SECONDS WHEN THE CAR TRIES TO AUTOMATICALLY BREAK. FOR EXAMPLE, IF MY CRUISE CONTROL IS SET ON, A CAR WILL TURN IN FRONT OF ME AND THEN MOMENTS LATER MY CAR RANDOMLY BREAKS AS IF THE CAR IS STILL IN FRONT OF ME. IF I AM APPROACHING ANOTHER CAR, THE AUTOMATIC BREAKS APPLY VERY LATE IF CRUISE CONTROL IS SET ON. I KEEP BRINGING THESE ISSUES TO THE DEALERSHIP'S ATTENTION AND HAVE EVEN PAID FOR A FULL INSPECTION, BUT THEY ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS. THE CAR KEEPS BREAKING UNEXPECTEDLY AND I AM CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY AND I. WE DO NOT WANT TO BE IN A SITUATION WHEN THE CAR BREAKS UNEXPECTEDLY AND CAUSES A FATAL CRASH BECAUSE OF THIS.
JUST BOUGHT 2018 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING AT SPEED OF 35 MPH , SUDDENLY FORWARD COLLISION WARNING STARTED FLASHING AND AUTOMATIC BRAKES WENT ON . THERE WAS NO OTHER CAR IN FRONT .
CAR JUST STOPPED AUTOMATICALLY WHEN COMING SLOWLY INTO THE GARAGE SEVERAL RED LIGHT BLINKED VERY FAST ...I HAD NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS BEFORE

THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL BEEPING SOUND DETECTED. THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE DROVE AS DESIGNED. THE CONTACT CALLED NISSAN OF SHELBY (631 S POST RD, SHELBY, NC 28152, (980) 295-1600) HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,984.
THE BACK UP CAMERA IS ALWAYS FREEZING UP, BOTH WHILE STATIONARY OR IN MOTION
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM ALARM SOUNDED AND CAUSED THE STALL HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE REGAINED MOBILITY. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SLOW LANE AND CONTINUED TO DRIVE AT A SLOWER SPEED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FEATURE WAS DISABLED WHENEVER THEY DROVE THE VEHICLE TO AVOID THE FAILURE FROM RECURRING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MAUS NISSAN OF NEW PORT RICHEY (3939 US-19, NEW PORT RICHEY, FL 34652, (727) 999-6287) WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL SENSOR AND BRACKET NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED BACK TO THE DEALER FOR ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
DRIVING EAST ON I-94 NEAR BATTLE CREEK, MI AT HIGHWAY SPEED IN CRUISE CONTROL WITH MY WIFE AND 3 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER THE BRAKES APPLIED HARD. HAD TO STAND ON THE GAS AND WAS FIGHTING THE BRAKES BRAKES THAT WERE STILL APPLIED TO GET BACK TO 60 TO KEEP FROM BEING RUN OVER. PULLED OVER AND SHUT IT OFF. FOUND ICING ON THE FRONT SENSOR. RESTARTED CAR AND FAULT CLEARED. PROCEEDED ON HIGHWAY AND IT WORKED FOR A BIT BUT FAULT SHOWED UP AGAIN BUT WITHOUT THE HARD BRAKING. SHUT OFF THE AUTO BRAKING WHICH ALSO SHUTS OFF CRUISE CONTROL. IT WAS SNOWING SOME ON THAT TRIP. OUR RETURN TRIP THE NEXT DAY IT WAS SUNNY AND WE HAD NO PROBLEMS. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL HAS A FUEL MILEAGE HISTORY THAT SHOWS UP WHEN YOU SHUT THE CAR OFF. IT SHOWED 10 MPG FOR THAT SHORT STINT WHEN WE HAD THE PROBLEM, OTHERWISE 26 MPG FOR ALL THE OTHER STINTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO COLE NISSAN IN KALAMAZOO, MI WHERE THEY HAD IT FOR TWO WEEKS. WE DESCRIBED HOW THE INSTRUMENT LIGHT WOULD FLASH ON AND OFF SOMETIMES BEFORE THIS, BUT HAD NEVER APPLIED THE BRAKES LIKE THIS. WHEN WE WENT TO GET THE CAR WE WERE TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO CODE SET AND THEY TESTED THE SENSORS AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG. INTERESTINGLY, WE DIDN'T GET ANY SORT OF SERVICE REPORT OR PAPERWORK. DOES THAT MEAN THEY AREN'T REPORTING IT? THE SERVICE GUY TOLD US SOMETHING ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION BEING IN TOO LOW OF A GEAR AND THEY DIDN'T FIND A CODE THAT THE BRAKES HAD APPLIED. MAKES NO SENSE. THIS CAR SHOULD NOT REACT TO SNOW ON THE FRONT OF THE CAR BY LOCKING THE BRAKES OR "DOWNSHIFTING". THIS IS AN UNSAFE CONDITION THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY NISSAN.
VEHICLE MADE FULL STOP WHILE DRIVING LOCALLY ABOUT 20 MILES PER HOUR. THERE WAS NO OBSTACLE YET THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS INITIATED.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED MY 2018 NISSAN ROGUE IN AUGUST OF 2020 AND AS OF MARCH 2021, I'VE HAD 5 INSTANCES WHERE THE FRONT RADAR SYSTEM FOR THE CRUISE CONTROL FEATURE MALFUNCTIONED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE FRONT RADAR SENSOR IS PART OF THE INTELLIGENT FORWARD WARNING SYSTEM IN NISSANS AND ITS JOB IS TO DETECT THE DISTANCE BETWEEN VEHICLES. THE SENSOR IS TIED TO THE CRUISE CONTROL AND EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM. THE FAULT CONSISTS OF A FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTION WARNING LIGHT MALFUNCTION ILLUMINATING LEADING TO THE DISENGAGEMENT OF THE CRUISE CONTROL FEATURE (IF ENGAGED PRIOR TO THE MALFUNCTION) OR THE CRUISE CONTROL FEATURE AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM BECOMING DISABLED. ALSO, WHEN THE FAULT APPEARS, THE BRAKES ARE ABRUPTLY APPLIED BEFORE BEING RELEASED WHICH IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE ESPECIALLY WHEN DRIVING DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER AS YOUR RELYING ON THE INTEGRITY OF YOUR BRAKING SYSTEM. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY MENTIONED THAT THERE WERE NO CURRENT RECALLS IN PLACE FOR THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE AND THAT THE SYSTEM WOULD NEED TO BE UPDATED WITH THE LATEST SOFTWARE UPDATE TO SEE IF THE PROBLEM IS CORRECTED. I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY APPROXIMATELY $150 TO INSTALL THE UPDATE TO THE SYSTEM, WHICH TO ME SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE COMPANY DUE TO IMPLIED SAFETY ISSUES. I WAS SURPRISED TO HEAR THAT A RECALL WAS NOT IN PLACE FOR THIS SYSTEM, CONSIDERING THIS HAS BEEN A KNOWN ISSUE SINCE 2014 AND YET THE NISSAN COMPANY HAS YET TO ISSUE ANY TYPE OF SAFETY RECALL FOR THE ROGUE MODELS, HENCE MY SAFETY COMPLAINT. I FEAR THAT IF THIS PROBLEM ISN'T CORRECTED SOON AN UNSUSPECTING DRIVER COULD GET HURT!
LOST POWER AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND HAD IT SCANNED AT AUTOZONE W AS TOLD IT WAS A FUEL SENSOR RAN CODE P0181
when I am waiting for someone to come out, I listen to music with key in on position and when I try to start the car it will not start. It makes a sound but won't turn over. I was told it was the battery, I had that replaced and it is still doing the same thing. I am concerned that if I am out at night, well anytime there is a car issue it concerns me. Please advise what this could be.
The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at 35 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently shut off and restarted independently. The failure occurred on two separate occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
SINCE PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE USED IN DEC 2019 THERE HAS BEEN MANY OCCASIONS OF THE FORWARD ALERT FOR COLLISION ACTIVATING AND THERE WAS NO OTHER CARS NEAR THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE, IT FLASHES ON THE DASH SO QUICKLY AND GOES OFF BEFORE WE CAN SEE WHAT IT'S SAYING.THERE HAS ALSO BEEN MANY OCCASIONS OF THE AUTOMATIC BREAKING ACTIVATING AND AUTO BREAKING WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS INCLUDING ON THE INTERSTATE AND LEAVING THE INTERSTATE ONTO OFF RAMPS AS WELL AS NORMAL CITY DRIVING. JUST RECENTLY FOUND THIS REPORTING SITE AND AS WE ARE AFRAID OF A REAR END COLLISION HAPPENING IF THIS IS NOT ADDRESSED WITH NISSAN.
WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE AUTOMATIC BRAKE SYSTEM WILL BREAK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY AND MALFUNCTION AND CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.
DRIVING ON A STATE HIGHWAY IN A METROPOLITAN AREA, THE SUN ROOF SUDDENLY EXPLODED. IT WAS MODERATE WEATHER FOR DECEMBER IN THE ST. LOUIS, MO AREA (I'M GUESSING IN THE 40'S). NISSAN SAYS THAT GLASS IS NOT COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY. HAD THE SUN ROOF COVER BEEN OPEN, GLASS COULD EASILY HAVE ENTERED THE CABIN. THE GLASS SHATTERED INTO HUNDREDS OF TINY PIECES - OBVIOUS A HAZARD TO CAR OCCUPANTS AS WELL AS OTHERS OUTSIDE THE CAR.
WHILE DRIVING THE ABS RANDOMLY BRAKES AND A MALFUNCTION WARNING COMES ON WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY WHICH CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT NISSAN WILL NOT FIX IT WITHOUT CHARGING 1300 DOLLARS WHEN THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LOW SUIT ON THIS ISSUE. YOU CAN DISABLE THE FEATURE BUT A MALFUNCTION WARNING STILL COMES AND BEEPS LOUDLY.
AN AEB RECALL WAS MADE ON NISSAN ROUGES BACK IN 2019, I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER, IN WHICH IT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN FIXED, HOWEVER THE LIGHT STILL CAME ON BLINKING. TODAY, WHILE DRIVING IT GAVE ME A WARNING AND SAID MALFUNCTION WITH THE AEB. I HAVE UPLOADED TWO PHOTOS, ONE FROM TODAY'S WARNING LIGHT AND THE OTHER FROM WHERE IT WOULD COME ON AND JUST FLASH WHILE DRIVING, ABOUT 10,000 MILES AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR.
THE FRONT CRASH LIGHT STARTED FLASHING OUT OF THE BLUE AND THEN THE CAR SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES AND BROUGHT IT TO A COMPLETE STOP AND IT WAS A COMPLETELY CLEAR NIGHT WITH NO TRAFFIC AROUND ME. THERE WAS ZERO REASON FOR IT TO DO THAT! I WAS GOING ALMOST 70 MPH ON A COUNTRY ROAD AND THERE WAS NOT AN ANIMAL OR ANOTHER CAR ANYWHERE IN SIGHT. IT HAPPENED TWICE THAT THE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE FIRST TIME, I PULLED OVER, KILLED THE CAR, OPENED MY DOOR AND RESET IT AND STARTED DRIVING AGAIN. IT CAME ON AGAIN AND THEN SLAMMED THE BRAKES ON. LUCKILY THERE WAS NO ONE BEHIND ME OR I PROBABLY WOULD HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT! I TOOK A VIDEO JUST PRIOR TO THE CAR SLAMMING ON THE BRAKES.
I WAS SITTING AT A LIGHT WITH A CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME STARTED MOVING SO I ACCELERATED SLOWLY AND MY CAR STARTED BEEPING AND THEN THE BREAKS LOCKED UP. I WAS NOT TOO CLOSE TO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME SO I AM WORRIED AS TO WHY THIS HAPPENED. IF THERE HAD BEEN A CAR BEHIND ME, THEY PROBABLY WOULD HAVE HIT US MY CAR STOPPED SO QUICKLY.
The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the radiator needed to be flushed and an oil change needed to be performed. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic, where the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle had not been taken to another independent mechanic or a local dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 45,000.
DRIVING 40 MPH DOWN A CITY STREET IN VIRGINIA BEACH APPROACHING AN OVERPASS, NO CARS WERE AROUND ME AND THE AEB ACTIVATED WHICH STARTED SLOWING MY VEHICLE DOWN AGGRESSIVELY AND MADE A LOUD GRINDING NOISE UNTIL I CLEARED THE OVERPASS.
THE TRUNK WHEN OPENED WILL OPEN ALL OF THE WAY AND THEN WILL CLOSE AUTOMATICALLY ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AND WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY, OFF, AND IN PARK USUALLY, BUT IT WILL ALSO HAPPEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY, ON, AND IN PARK. I HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES.
DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE VEHICLE SLAMMED THE BRAKES AND THEN WOULD NOT MOVE AND THEN WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET TO GET IT TO GO AGAIN BY GOING AND THEN LETTING GO OF THE GAS AND THEN ACCELERATING AGAIN. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND TAKE THE CABLES OFF THE BATTERY TO RESET THE VEHICLE. I HAVE SINCE DISABLED THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM MANUALY ON THE COUNSEL OF THE VEHICLE. I TOOK TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP LOCALLY AND AFTER WAITING ALL DAY NISSAN WAS NOT RESPONDING TO THEIR RESPONSE AS TO GETTING ME A LOANER OR GETTING THE PROPER PARTS TO FIX.
THE AEB WARNING LIGHT FREQUENTLY BLINKS DURING REGULAR DRIVING CONDITIONS WITH A CLEAN NOSE SENSOR AND WINDSHIELD CAMERA. MORE FRIGHTENING IS IT HAS SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES, TWICE, ON THE HIGHWAY WITH NO VEHICLES OR OBSTRUCTIONS IN FAVORABLE CONDITIONS AT CRUISING SPEED. THIS IS HORRIBLY SCARY ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY WITH TWO CHILDREN IN THE CAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG . THE CONTACT HAD THE REPAIRS COMPLETED AT COASTAL NISSAN 8519 OCEAN HIGHWAY, PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC 29585 (843) 979-3500 A YEAR AGO. THE AIR BAG INDICATOR LIGHT CAME BACK ON FOR PASSENGER'S SIDE. THE DEALER CHECKED THE AIR BAG SENSOR AND STATED THAT THE SENSOR WAS DAMAGED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE AIR BAG SENSOR WAS LOCATED UNDERNEATH THE SEAT ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE.THEY COULD NOT CONFIRM TO THE CONTACT IF THE AIR BAG WOULD OR WOULD NOT DEPLOY IF NEEDED. THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED YET. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000.
VEHICLE TRANSMISSION STUTTERS AND STRUGGLES TO SHIFT IN HIGHER GEARS. OCCASIONALLY KNOCKS. THE TRANSFER CASE WAS FAULTY 3 MONTHS AGO AND BROKE/FELL APART WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE ALMOST LOST CONTROL AND THE DEALERSHIP SAID THE TRANSFER ARM HAD SNAPPED. THE TRANSMISSION STILL MAKES THE SAME HEAVY KNOCKING AND OCCASIONALLY 'SLIPS' AS THE CVT TRANSMISSION HESITATES TO SHIFT. THE VEHICLE HAS VERY SLOW ACCELERATION BECAUSE OF THIS AND EVEN WHEN ACCELERATING AT A SLOW SPEED LIKE FROM A STOP SIGN THE TIRES WILL JUMP AS IF THE AXLES ARE MOVING FASTER OR SLOWER THAN THE TRANSMISSION IS FIRING.
I AM DRIVING FORWARD AT 55 MPH ON A MAIN ROAD IN THE CITY. THERE WERE ABSOLUTELY NO CARS IN FRONT, ON SIDES, OR BEHIND ME. THEN WARNING FLASHES ON DASH QUICKLY AND IMMEDIATELY AFTER WARNING DISPLAY MY CAR SLAMMED TO A STOP. I WAS SLAMMED FORWARD INTO THE STEERING WHEEL. IT WAS THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM THAT IS MALFUNCTIONING APPARENTLY.
WHEN MY VEHICLE IS PARKED AND TURNED OFF I AM UNABLE TO LOCK OR UNLOCK IT USING THE POWER BUTTON ON THE DOORS' EXTERIOR. MY VEHICLE STARTED DOING THIS AFTER A VISIT TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP (2551 THE NALLEY WAY, ATLANTA, GA 30360) FOR A SIMPLE OIL CHANGE. I TOOK IT BACK THE FOLLOWING DAY WHEN THE ISSUE BEGAN AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE AND THAT IT WAS A COMMON ISSUE OF MY FRONT-DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILING AND THAT IT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. FEELING DEFEATED AFTER TRYING TO REASON WITH MANAGEMENT THAT IT WAS NOT HAVING THIS ISSUE BEFORE THEY SERVICED MY VEHICLE, I DECIDED TO LEAVE IT ALONE. HOWEVER, RECENTLY MY NIECE AND I WERE OUT SHOPPING AND NOTICED THAT WE WERE BEING FOLLOWED BY A STRANGE ACTING MAN. WE TOOK OFF RUNNING TOWARD MY VEHICLE TRYING TO REACH SAFETY, BUT WHAT HAPPENS? THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILS AND I'M UNABLE TO ENTER MY OWN VEHICLE! OUR ONLY SAVING GRACE WAS THAT ANOTHER MAN IN THE PARKING LOT NOTICED THAT WE WERE TRYING TO FLEA FROM DANGER AND INTERVENED TO GET THE OTHER MAN AWAY FROM US. IT WAS TERRIFYING! IMAGINE THE SIGHT OF THAT. IT'S SO FRUSTRATING! AT FIRST I THOUGHT THAT MAYBE MY KEY BATTERY WAS DYING AND DECIDED TO GET THE BATTERY REPLACED BEFORE RETURNING TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT THE BATTERY WAS NOT THE ISSUE. I'VE NEVER HEARD OF DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILURE AND BELIEVE IT TO BE A MANUFACTURING ERROR AND SAFETY HAZARD. I BOUGHT THE 2018 NISSAN ROGUE BECAUSE I LOVED MY 2017 ROGUE AND NEVER EXPERIENCED THE ISSUES THAT THIS NEWER MODEL HAS GIVEN ME. BOY WAS I WRONG!!! NISSAN SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE!
DRIVING ABOUT 50 MPH AND THE GLASS ROOF EXPLODES. LUCKILY, THE SHADE COVER WAS CLOSED, SO THE GLASS WAS CONTAINED INSIDE IT BUT ALSO MUCH OF IT FLEW OFF THE BACK OF THE CAR.
THE BREAKING SYSTEM ON MY 2018 NISSAN ROGUE DRIVING 50MPH SLAMMED ON THE BREAKS AND CAUSED MY CAR TO STOP WITHOUT WARNING, A RED LIGHT CAME ON AND I WAS WHIPPED FORWARD. THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC IN FRONT OF ME AND 2 CARS BEHIND THAT WOULD HAVE HIT ME AS I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF SIDE OF ROAD. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN A FATAL ACCIDENT. WE HAVE CONTACTED OUR NISSAN DEALER WHO SAID THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS,
TL* THE CONTACT'S WIFE OWNS A 2018 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HIS WIFE WAS DRIVING AT 40 MPH, SHE BRIEFLY LOOKED DOWN WHICH CAUSED HER TO UNKNOWINGLY DRIVE INTO A DITCH. AS SHE ATTEMPTED TO EXIT THE DITCH, SHE RAN OVER A MOUND WHICH RESULTED IN HER JUMPING OVER THE MOUND AND LANDING INTO ANOTHER DITCH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED UPON IMPACT; HOWEVER, THE FRONT AND PASSENGER AIR BAGS FAILED DEPLOY WHICH CAUSED HIS WIFE TO BANG HER HEAD AGAINST THE STEERING WHEEL. THE AUTHORITIES WERE CALLED TO THE SCENE AND HIS WIFE WAS TREATED FOR HER BRUISE TO HER FOREHEAD. THE CONTACT'S FIVE MONTH OLD DAUGHTER WAS ALSO IN THE VEHICLE BUT SHE SUFFERED NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE SCENE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT REMAINED IN THEIR POSSESSION. THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000.
MY CAR HAS AUTOMATICALLY BREAKED ON ITS OWN WHILE DRIVING TWICE, WITH NO CAR IN FRONT OF ME AND WITHOUT ME (THE DRIVER) PRESSING ON THE BREAKS WHILE ATTEMPTING TO GET ON THE FREEWAY ONCE AND ONCE WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET.
I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET, CAME UP TO AN INTERSECTION TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR PUT ON THE BRAKES AND JOLTED ME AND MY PASSENGER FORWARD. THERE WAS NO CAR IN FRONT OF ME OR BEHIND ME AT THIS TIME. I SEEN THE WARNING COME FOR NO REASON. I AM A LITTLE NERVOUS ABOUT DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT THIS POINT.
2018 NISSAN ROUGE PANORAMIC GLASS EXPLODING. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND SUDDENLY HEARD AN EXPLOSION LIKE A GUN SHOT. SHE HAD GLASS FALL INSIDE THE THE CAR AND ON HER. NISSAN IS NOT USING A TEMPERED GLASS AND THIS POSSES A SAFETY CONCERN FOR ALL NISSAN OWNERS WITH THE PANORAMIC ROOF.
I WAS JUST LEAVING MY JOB, AND DRIVING DOWN A LOCAL, DOUBLE YELLOW-LINED ROAD, DOING ABOUT 35-40 MPH, WHEN MY 2018 NISSAN ROGUE'S AUTOMATIC BREAKING SYSTEM SUDDENLY, AND AGGRESSIVELY ENGAGED, CAUSING THE ENTIRE VEHICLE TO SHUDDER, AND MAKE A HORRIBLE NOISE, ALONG WITH FLASHING ORANGE, TRIANGLE WARNING LIGHT. THE TERRIFYING PART ABOUT IT, WAS THAT THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IN FRONT OF ME, AND THANKFULLY NO ONE BEHIND ME. I PULLED OVER, AND HAD A SMALL NERVOUS BREAKDOWN. THIS IS AN EXTREME SAFETY ISSUE! I DON'T WANT TO THINK ABOUT WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED, HAD I BEEN ON THE EXPRESSWAY OR HAD MY DAUGHTER IN THE CAR, AND THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT! NISSAN SHOULD ABSOLUTELY RECALL THE CARS AFFECTED BY THIS! NOT JUST ISSUE BULLETINS TO DEALERSHIP'S. UNACCEPTABLE. I'M CALLING THE DEALERSHIP TOMORROW, TO FIND OUT WHAT CAN BE DONE. NOW, I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR.
THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM CONSTANTLY ACTIVATES WHILE DRIVING. I AM WORRIED I WILL GET IN A WRECK. AS I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET ON 09/03/2020 MY CAR DECIDED TO STOP AUTOMATICALLY BY ITSELF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. THE BREAKS LOCKED UP AND THE STEERING AS WELL, I WAS THROWN FORWARD ALMOST HITTING MY HEAD OFF THE STEERING WHEEL, I DIDN'T BECAUSE I HAD MY SEATBELT ON, THANK GOODNESS. IF THERE WAS ANOTHER VEHICLE BEHIND ME I WOULD HAVE MOST LIKELY DIED. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE AND SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING. I CALLED THE DEALER WHERE I HAD PURCHASED IT FROM, PERFORMANCE KIA IN MOOSIC, PA AND THEY CAN NOT GET ME IN FOR A WHOLE WEEK WHICH IS ALSO UNACCEPTABLE BECAUSE I HAVE TO DRIVE IT IN ORDER TO GET MY CHILDREN AROUND AND MYSELF TO WORK, THIS IS SCARY AND NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED. HAPPENED ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM A FRIENDS HOUSE. SUDDENLY THE CAR MADE AN AWFUL SOUND AND THE BRAKES LOCKED. SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY CHECKED THE BRAKES-SAW NOTHING. WAS DRIVING YESTERDAY DOWN THE STREET GOING ABOUT 25 MILES PER HR AND THE BRAKES SUDDENLY ENGAGED WITH THAT HORRIBLE SOUND AGAIN, EVERYTHING IN THE MIDDLE SEAT FLEW TO THE FRONT, FLUNG ME INTO THE STEERING WHEEL-CHEST FIRST AND THE CAR BEHIND ME BARELY SWERVED AROUND ME TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. I AM TERRIFED TO DRIVE THIS CAR AGAIN! I CANNOT BELIEVE IT. I PAID A LOT OF MONEY FOR MY CAR AND TO BE AFRAID TO DRIVE IT AGAIN FOR FEAR OF AN ACCIDENT OR LOSING MY OR ANYONE ELSE'S LIFE IS SCARY!!! WHEN I FIRST GOT THE VEHICLE LAST YEAR A FEW DAYS AFTER HAVING IT MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND TOLD THEM THE ISSUE, AND THE HAD ME TO BRING IT IN THE DRIVE WAS OVER AN HOUR . I GET THERE THEY GAVE ME A LOANER. AT FIRST THEY SAID I COULD CHOOSE FROM A SELECTION, BUT THE I GET THERE AND I COULDN'T CHOOSE I COULD ONLY GET THE TRUCK THEY GAVE ME BECAUSE OF THE BANKRUPTCY PROGRAM. THE OTHER DAY THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN I TOOK IT TO AUTO ZONE AND THEY PUT IT ON THE DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE AND PRINTED OUT A PAPER AS IF NOW I HAVE OVER 70,000 MILES ON MY DASHBOARD, BUT THE PAPER SAID 122,015 MILES.
THE DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL WILL ACCELERATE WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE STARTS TO ENTER THE LANE IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. IT WILL EVENTUALLY FULLY DETECT THE VEHICLE AND DECELERATE, BUT I USUALLY HAVE TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES TO PREVENT FROM GETTING TOO CLOSE TO THE RECENTLY MERGED CAR.

TODAY AS I WAS DRIVING LOW SPEED AFTER I PUSHED THE BRAKES AT ROTTERY AT MACY'S THE CAR STOPPED MOVING EVEN I ACCELERATE THE GAS.
WHILE TURNING ON AN OFF RAMP THE STEERING GAVE OUT AND LOCKED, CAUSING THE CAR TO DRIVE DIRECTLY INTO THE GUARD RAIL. YES THE CAR WAS MOVING BUT STEALTHILY AS I SLOWED DOWN TO MAKE THE TURN. THE CAR WAS THROWN FROM THE LEFT GUARD RAIL TO THE RIGHT SIDE CAUSING EXTENSIVE DAMAGE AND NO AIRBAG DEPLOYED IN THE EVENT OF THIS CRASH. THE CAR WAS NO LONGER ABLE TO MOVE FROM SUCH A DRASTIC ACCIDENT AND YET IT WAS NOT ENOUGH FOR THE AIRBAGS TO EVEN ATTEMPT TO SAVE OUR LIVES. THERE WERE KIDS IN THE CAR! THANK THE HEAVENS WE WERE ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE WRECK ALIVE. ONE WHEEL WAS TURNED INWARD AS IT ATTEMPTED TO TURN WHILE THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL STAYED STRAIGHT. IT WAS A NIGHTMARE AND WE ARE ALL STILL SHAKEN UP BY THIS.
THE EMERGANCY BRAKING SYSTEM GOES OFF FOR NO REASON WHEN I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WITH NO VEHICAL OR OBJECT IN FRONT OF THE VEHEICAL THAT SHOULD CAUSE IT TO STOP. WHEN IT GOES OFF THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED AND THE CAR STOPS IN THE ROAD.
In sum, on 7/22/2020, my vehicle was traveling approximately 55mph southbound Interstate 90/94 at Harrison when the forward collision warning activated, and emergency braking occurred. Vehicle speed was reduced to 25mph for several seconds, then alert disengaged. There were no vehicles or obstacles immediately in front of my vehicle, however there were several vehicles behind me and within the lanes on either side of me. The emergency breaking caused my seatbelt to lock, and distract me with auditory and visual alerts, and cause the vehicles behind me to slam on their breaks. This incident could have resulted in a massive pile-up collision. No warning lamps or messages were present prior to malfunction. All warnings occurred during the few seconds of incident. I thought this problem could be an isolated incident of sensitive warning systems within the vehicle, however this has occurred again. On 7/3/2021, my vehicle was traveling northbound Harlem Avenue just north of College Drive over a bridge, when the forward collision warning was activated, and emergency breaking occurred. Yet again, there were no obstacles or vehicles in front of me for roughly ½ of a mile. Seatbelt locked, auditory and visual alerts distracted me, and the emergency breaking activated, then disengaged with an audible “hissing” noise. No warning lamps or messages were present prior to malfunction. All warnings occurred during the few seconds of incident. On 7/6/2021, my vehicle was traveling westbound Interstate 90 at the Illinois/Indiana border, when the forward collision warning activated, and emergency breaking occurred. I was surrounded by vehicles on the left and right sides and in the rear. My seatbelt locked for myself and my passenger, and auditory and visual alerts activated and created distraction, and vehicles in the rear having to slow rapidly.
