[XXX] INSISTED, "THEY'RE CARS ARE SAFE, BUT THIS IS FAR FROM THE TRUTH!" I PURCHASED, THIS CAR ON 02/26/2014, AND THERE WHERE NO VISIBLE SIGN ON HOW MUCH THE CAR COST, [XXX] WAS THE SALESMAN, WHO GATHERED MY INFORMATION, SHOWED ME TWO CARS, AND I TEST DROVE ONE, BUT NONE WAS WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR, BECAUSE I INDICATED, I NEEDED AND SUV FOR MY WORK, BUT THEY SAID, "YOUR INCOME WASN'T ENOUGH, AND I ASKED, WHY NONE OF THE VEHICLES HAVE PRICES ON THEM, BUT THEY CONTINUE TO AVOID MY QUESTIONS. I WAS NOT SATISFIED WITH THE TWO VEHICLES, AND THEIR MANAGER, WHICH FINANCE THE VEHICLE FROM [XXX]/CNAC CAME OUT AND SHOWED ME TWO OTHER VEHICLES, AND I KEPT ASKING FOR A SUV, BUT HIS EXPLANATION, 'IT ISN'T IN YOU PRICE RANGE, AND WE WILL DO A BUDGET AFTER YOU CHOOSE A CAR, AND OUT OF THE FOUR CHOICES, I CHOSE THE GRAND AM, I TEST DROVE THE CAR, I TOLD THEM ABOUT THE RUBBING AND A NOISE, AND THE INDICATED, YOU WILL HAVE A WARRANTY, AND WE WILL FIX ANYTHING UNDER THE HOOD, AND ANY THING THAT HAS TO DO WITH THE BRAKES, TIRES, THEY ARE NEW, LIGHTS, BECAUSE WE REFURBISH ALL OUR CARS, "THAT'S WHY WE CHARGE WHAT WE DO; EVERYTHING IS NEW ON THE VEHICLE!, BUT CLEARLY THIS IS A LIE!" I HAVE TAKEN THIS VEHICLE TO BE FIXED FOUR TIMES, THIS LAST TIME, I WENT TO JIFFY LUBE, AND THEY TOOK DIAGNOSTIC, "THE FRONT BRAKES ARE GOING OUT, I HAD TO PURCHASE A AIR FILTER, AND A PCV VALVE, THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST INDICATED, "I DID NOT HAVE A LICENSE LIGHT, LEFT FRONT LIGHT, LEFT BRAKE LIGHTS, TURN SIGNALS DO NOT WORK, NOR DO I HAVE BRAKES!" I PAY $339.91 A MONTH, I INDICATED, TO CNAC, "I CAN NOT AFFORD THIS PRICE, I JUST DO NOT WANT THE CAR, AND CNAC FINANCE GUY TOLD ME, "YOU HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED THE CAR!" A DAY AFTER, I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, THE TROUBLE STARTED, CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS, OIL LIGHTS, STEERING WHEEL CLICKING, AND CLACKING, FIXED AFTER THREE MONTHS, NEVER FIXED BRAKES! TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE POWERED ON, THE KEY REMAINED STUCK IN THE IGNITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE IGNITION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I WAS PULLING INTO MY DRIVE WAY AND MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT. ON A SEPARATE OCCASION MY BLOWER MOTOR WOULD NOT SWITCH OFF I HAD TO REMOVE THE BATTERY CABLES IN ORDER FOR IT TO SHUT OFF. WHEN I HAD IT LOOKED AT THE BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR HAD BURN MARKS ON IT. AND I WAS LUCKY TO HAVE IT REPLACED AS IT COULD HAVE CAUSED A FIRE. THE CAR OVER HEATS WHEN THE HEATING SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING DESPITE HAVING A NEW WATER PUMP REPLACED. I WAS SLOW ON MY STREET AND THE KEY HAD FALLEN OUT OF MY IGNITION AND THE CAR SHUT OFF I WAS NOT GOING VERY FAST AND I WAS ON MY STREET BUT IT WAS SCARY AS I HAD TO TRY TO PULL THE CAR OVER IN ORDER TO TRY AND RESTART IT. THIS VEHICLE SAYS IT HAS MANY RECALLS BUT WHEN I PLACE MY VIN IN THE GM WEBSITE IT SAYS NOTHING. MY AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON AND I FEEL AS THOUGH MY CAR MAY NOT DEPLOY THE AIR BAGS IN A CRASH. *TR
I WAS TAKING OFF FROM A STOP LIGHT SOMETIME IN MARCH OF 2014. I DON'T REMEMBER THE EXACT DATE. AS I WAS TAKING OFF THERE WAS A LOUD BANG/POP NOISE AND THE CAR DIDN'T WANT TO MOVE. SO I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD ABOUT 200 OR SO FEET FROM THE STOP LIGHT, SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND LIFTED THE HOOD TO CHECK AND SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. BY WHAT I COULD SEE THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE ENGINE. SO I STARTED THE ENGINE AND PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AND THE ENGINE JUST REVVED AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. I PUT IT IN THIRD AND IT DID THE SAME THING. SO I FIGURED IT WAS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. THEN I PUT IT IN SECOND AND IT TOOK OFF JUST FINE BUT ONLY WENT 50 MPH TOPS. I WOULD HAVE TO SHIFT IT MANUALLY TO GO INTO THIRD OR DRIVE. AFTER THAT HAPPENED THE TRANSMISSION WORKED UNTIL MAY 18, 2014 WHEN EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE REVERSE GEAR STOPPED WORKING. I RESEARCHED THIS ONLINE AND I'M NOT THE ONLY PERSON THIS HAPPENED TO AND THEY WERE ALL AT AN AVERAGE OF 103,000 TO 105,000 MILES ON THE CAR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE ENGINE LIGHT AND ENGINE POWER REDUCED INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS MERGED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND RESUMED NORMAL FUNCTIONED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE ACCELERATOR SENSOR AND CRANK SHAFT SENSOR WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 88,432.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT EXCESSIVE FORCE WAS REQUIRED TO MANEUVER THE STEERING WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND RACK AND PINION WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 219,940.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. AS A RESULT, THE DRIVER CRASHED INTO AN EXPRESSWAY WALL AND BOUNCED OFF INTO TRAFFIC WHERE IT WAS STRUCK BY ANOTHER VEHICLE AND A TRUCK. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER WAS FATALLY INJURED. I WAS DRIVING TO CHURCH IT HAD JUST GOT DARK A CAR APPROACHED ME WITH HIGH BEAMS ON, WHEN I WENT TO FLICKER MY SWITCH FROM LOW TO HIGH MY LIGHTS WENT OUT COMPLETELY I WAS SCARED TO DEATH IT WAS PITCH BLACK COULDN'T SEE WHERE I WAS GOING AND THEN THEY CAME BACK ON I WAS IN A FIELD, THANK GOD IT WAS A COUNTRY ROAD I MAY HAVE HURT MYSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE, THE WINDOWS ON MY CAR HAVE BEEN REPLACED ALL OF THEM BUT NOW I ONLY HAVE 1 LEFT THAT IS WORKING, THIS CAR HAS SO MANY ISSUES WITH ELECTRICAL IT MAKES ME SICK THAT I BOUGHT IT. *TR
I HAVE A 2004 GRAND PRIX GTP BOUGHT ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO TAKE A YEAR I BOUGHT IT HAD TO REPLACE HUB ASSEMBLY ON DRIVE SIDE CAR HAS LEAKED WATER IN THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR THAT IS CAUSE MY COWL IS BAD CANT FIND ONE THE ABOUT A YEAR TOO LATER HAD TO REPLACE THE HUB ASSEMBLY AND THE HARNESS AGAIN AND NOW MY BREAK IS PULSATING AND NOW ASKED SOMEONE WHY ITS DOING THAT THEY SAID ITS PROBABLY MY HUB ASSEMBLY THEY SHOULD NOT SEE THESES CARS EVERYONE I HAVE TALKED TO HAS HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS OUT OF THIS YEAR MODEL I DON'T HAVE THE TO FIX THIS STUFF WOULD LIKE TO HAVE IT FIXED FOR FREE. *TR
CAR WAS IN THE SHOP 9/16 - 9/17/13 FOR AN ABS HARNESS. LATE AFTERNOON ON 9/17/13 I WAS TOLD THE CAR WAS READY. WE LEFT IT THERE OVERNIGHT BECAUSE WE COULDN'T GET THERE BEFORE CLOSING, SO WE PICKED IT UP AT 7:00 AM THIS MORNING, 9/18/13. MY DAUGHTER DROVE IT 10 MILES TO SCHOOL AND PARKED IT. WITHIN 30 MINUTES THE ENGINE WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES AND SMOKE. BY AROUND 9:30 AM THE CAR WAS TOWED AWAY AND ITS BEEN DEEMED TOTALED. *JB
MY CAR CAUGHT FIRE IN SEPTEMBER OF 2013. AT THE TIME NO RECALL HAD BEEN ISSUED BUT NOW THERE IS. WILL I BE COMPENSATED FOR THE LOOSE OF MY CAR. OR AM I JUST SOL BECAUSE THEY HAD NOT ISSUED THE RECALL YET.
ABS KICKS ON WHEN TURNING STOPPING AT SLOW SPEEDS ALMOST HIT A PEDESTRIAN. ABS PUMP KICKS ON WHEN TURNING LEFT AT LOW SPEEDS. IN OREGON WE HAVE A LOT OF BICYCLIST AND THE BRAKES NEED TO WORK. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER [XXX] AND HOLT IN BEND, OR. TWICE AND THE PROBLEM REAPPEARS. BIG SAFETY ISSUE. HITTING BUMPS IN ROAD THE CAR WOULD QUIT-LOOSING BRAKE ASSIST AND STEERING--THIS HAS BEEN DRIVING ME NUTS SINCE LAST AUGUST (2013) TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS CAUSING THE CAR TO QUIT--AFTER LEARNING OF A RECALL ON OTHER GM'S EXPERIENCING SIMILAR ISSUES IT ALL CAME TOGETHER--SO I PAID CLOSE TO ATTENTION THE IGNITION SWITCH WHEN THIS WOULD HAPPEN THE SWITCH HAD MOVED FROM THE RUN POSITION TO OFF (ACC) POSITION. NEXT I EXPERIMENTED A BIT STARTED THE CAR AT HOME (IN THE DRIVEWAY) AND JUST TOUCHED THE IGNITION SWITCH KEY AND IT MOVED TO THE OFF POSITION VERY EASILY. I'LL BE REPLACING THE SWITCH ASAP. NO THE KEY CHAIN HAS NOT BEEN OVERLOADED (PER GM). *TR
GOT TO WORK (DROVE APPROXIMATELY 13 MILES), HAD NO WARNINGS ON DISPLAY AND HEAT GAUGE WAS READING NORMAL, PARKED THE CAR, WITHIN MINUTES THE CAR WAS SMOKING AND ON FIRE UNDER THE HOOD. UNSURE OF ORIGIN OF FIRE, DAMAGE WAS EXTENSIVE. FIRE SPREAD VERY FAST. *TR

KEY LOOSE IN IGNITION CAUSING VOLTAGE TO DROP WHILE IDLING , WHICH CAUSES TRACKING SYSTEM FAULT TO APPEAR ON DASH. KEY SO LOOSE IN IGNITION ( THE SLIGHTEST MOVEMENT CAN CAUSE CAR TO TURN OFF. TOOK TO GM...AND HE AGREED AND SAW HOW LOOSE KEY WERE. TALKED TO GM COMPLAINT-CASE # AND TOLD THEM I WOULD FEEL SAFER TO GO AHEAD AND REPLACE IGNITION SWITCH AND CYLINDER DUE TO KEY NOT MAKING GOOD CONNECTION WITH CYLINDER DUE TO LOOSE IGNITION SWITCH!!! $700.00 REPAIR BILL I WOULD LOVE TO BE COMPENSATED ON. MY MOTHER WAS KILLED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION IN A 2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX. SHE WAS TRAVELING SOUTH BOUND ON A STREET CALLED HEWITT WHEN HER LEFT THE LANE FOR NO KNOWN REASON AND HIT A CAR TRAVELING NORTH BOUND HEAD ON DYING WITH IN SECONDS OF THE ACCIDENT. THE POLICE DID NOT KNOW WHY THIS HAPPENED . THERE WERE NO SKID MARKS FROM BRAKING NOR GOUGES NOR ANYTHING THAT SHOWED SHE TRIED TO BRAKE OR AVOID HITTING THIS CAR. I HAD JUST TALKED TO HER 20MIN BEFORE HER DEATH. HER LEFT LEG WAS BROKE AS IF SHE HAD APPLIED GREAT PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES AND HER STEERING WHEEL WAS IN A LOCKED POSITION CAUSING HER RIGHT ARM TO BREAK. THERE IS NO KNOWN REASON WHY HER SEAT BELT GAVE AWAY BECAUSE SHE WAS KNOWN TO WEAR HER SEATBELT AT ALL TIMES I RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER A YEAR LATER ABOUT THIS VEHICLE BUT IT WAS TO LATE. 2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX TRANSMISSION SLIPPING/JERKING MOTION GOING FROM DEAD START OR UPHILL/DOWNHILL. SEEMS VERY VERY DANGEROUS AS TRYING TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC IS NEVER CONSISTENT AND THE JERKING MOTION FORCES PEOPLE BEHIND TO SLAM ON BRAKES. HAPPENS UP TO 3 TIMES IN A ROW. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED DOWNHILL INTO AN INTERSECTION, JUMPED A CURB, AND CRASHED INTO THE BUSHES. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED NECK, LEG, AND SHOULDER INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE PASSENGER, WHO WAS PREGNANT, WAS RELEASED FROM THE SEAT BELT AND THROWN FROM THE VEHICLE. THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED ABDOMINAL INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION AND RESULTED IN PREMATURE BIRTH. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V400000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.

THIS WAS ACTUALLY 2ND TIME CAR VEERED OFF FOR NO REASON. FIRST TIME CAR HIT A CURB AND BLEW A TIRE. NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THIS HAPPENED, THEN CAR WAS DROVE UNTIL THE SERIOUS HEAD ON CRASH, NOW THAT RECALLS ARE BEING MADE PUBLIC ABOUT IGNITION ISSUES, WE FEEL LIKE THIS CAUSED BOTH WRECKS. *TR
I REAR ENDED A PICK UP TRUCK HEAD ON AT 35 MPH MY AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY WHICH CAUSED ME TO HIT MY FACE AND CHEST ON THE STEERING WHEEL. *TR

THIS HAPPEN SEVERAL TIMES DRIVING ON FREEWAY 60-70 MPH AN ENGINE LOSS POWER WARNING LIGHT VEHICLE. VEHICLE STARTED TO HESITATE WILL NOT ACCELERATE OVER 10-20 MPH. STALLED ON THE EMERGENCY LANE. AFTER SITTING AROUND 10 MINS VEHICLE STARTED AGAIN BACK AND WARNING LIGHT TURNED OFF. ARRIVED AT DEALERSHIP NO CODES. BACKED UP CAR OUT OF PARKING SPACE TRIED TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL AND IT KEPT SPINNING AROUND COULD NOT TURN TIRES ON CAR AND STEERING WHEEL WAS LOOSE. THEY TOLD ME THAT PERFORMANCE BUICK-PONTIAC-GMC OF SANTA FE HAD NOT INSTALLED A PREVIOUS INTERMEDIATE SHAFT CORRECTLY,THAT IT WAS NOT INSTALLED ALL THE WAY. THEY ALSO TOLD ME THE AIR BAG COIL WAS DAMAGED WHEN STEERING WAS HYPER-EXTENDED. *TR

IN OCTOBER 2011, I NOTICED THAT MY A\C & HEATING FAN WAS WORKING INTERMITTENTLY. AFTER A HARD RAIN, THE FAN STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY, AND I NOTICED A LARGE PUDDLE OF WATER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR. I DECIDED NOT TO HAVE THE BLOWER MOTOR REPLACED UNTIL AFTER I COULD FIND THE EXACT LOCATION OF THE WATER LEAK. IN SPRING 2012, WHILE WASHING MY CAR, I NOTICED THAT THE SEAL BETWEEN THE WINDSHIELD AND THE HOOD IS NOT PROPERLY CONNECTED, AND THAT WATER COULD BE PUSHED INTO A HOLE IN THE SEAL. THE SEAL IS NOT DAMAGED - THERE IS SIMPLY A GAP BETWEEN THE SEAL AND WINDSHIELD. WATER RUNS BEHIND THE GLOVE BOX, THROUGH ELECTRICAL WIRING AND EQUIPMENT, MAKING THIS A FIRE HAZARD. *TR

OUR 2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX HAS HAD TWO FAILURES OF THE HEATER MOTOR IN THREE YEARS. IN BOTH CASES NOXIOUS FUMES AND SMOKE CAME FROM THE DASHBOARD. I CONSIDER THIS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE THE SIGHT OF SMOKE COMING FROM THE DASHBOARD WHILE ON A BUSY INTERSTATE (WE WERE) CAN RESULT IN GREAT ANXIETY. I'M AN ELECTRICAL ENGINEER AND MY MECHANIC LET ME SEE THE PARTS. THE SMOKE CAME FROM A RESISTOR THAT IS PART OF THE SPEED CONTROL FOR THE MOTOR. IT'S A VERY POOR DESIGN, WITH HEAT FINS TO DISSIPATE THE HEAT INTO THE HEATER/AC AIR FLOW. IF THE MOTOR STARTS TO DRAG, CURRENT GOES UP AND AIRFLOW GOES DOWN, WITH THE RESULT THAT THE RESISTOR HEATS UP TO THE POINT WHERE IT PUTS SMOKE INTO THE AIR STREAM. I CONSIDER THIS EXTREMELY POOR DESIGN, AND A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD. I'VE WRITTEN TO THE MANUFACTURER AND SUGGESTED A NEW DESIGN (I HATE HAVING TO RE-DESIGN THINGS DONE BY AMATEURS!). *TR

IN 2011, I WAS DRIVING MY SON AND I TO THE DOCTOR, ABOUT 30 MINUTES AWAY, WHEN WE GOT OUT THE CAR I SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING AND SAW SO SOME SMOKE BUT IT DIDN'T LOOK LIKE IT WAS COMING FROM MY CAR, IT LOOKED LIKE IT WAS COMING FROM OVER A WOODEN FENCE. WE WERE IN THERE FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES, WHEN THE RECEPTIONIST INFORMED EVERYONE THAT IT WAS A CAR ON FIRE OUT IN THE PARKING LOT. I WENT OUTSIDE TO MOVE MY CAR SINCE I HAD REMEMBERED SMELLING SOMETHING BURNING WHEN I ARRIVED TO THE DOCTORS' OFFICE. WELL WHEN I GOT OUT BACK, THAT'S WHEN I REALIZED THAT IT WAS MY CAR THAT WAS ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED.THEY PUT OUT THE FIRE WHICH HAD BY THAT TIME COMPLETELY BURNED UP THE ENGINE. THAT'S WHERE IT STARTED, UNDER THE HOOD. ONE OF THE FIREFIGHTERS ASKED ME HAD WE RECENTLY HAD ANY WORK DONE ON THE CAR. I TOLD HIM NO. ANYWAY, WE CALLED THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND THE CAR TOWED. THE INSURANCE COMPANY ARE CURRENTLY INVESTIGATING THE FIRE. MY HUSBAND AND I RESEARCHED AND FOUND OUT THAT THE 1997-2003 HAD BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS ISSUE,BUT NOT THE 2004S. LOOKS LIKE TO ME, THAT THE 2004S SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED AS WELL. *TR
AT LOW SPEEDS THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES COME ON AND AFFECT BRAKING. THIS ALSO HAPPENS WHEN BACKING UP. THIS HAS ALMOST CAUSED AT LEAST THREE ACCIDENTS!
ON A 2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX GTP WITH A COMPETITION GROUP PACKAGE, THE VALVE COVER GASKETS HAVE FAILED. THIS CAUSES OIL TO LEAK ONTO THE MANIFOLD IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND ALLOWS IT TO BURN. THIS COULD IN TURN CAUSE A FIRE IN THE ENGINE. THIS SAME PROBLEM WAS RECALLED ON THE 1997-2003 MODELS, BUT HAS NOT INCLUDED THE 2004 MODEL. THE SAME PROBLEM STILL EXISTS AND MUST BE REMEDIED BEFORE FIRES ENSUE AND LIVES ARE LOST. ALSO, THE HEADLIGHTS "BOUNCE" OR "WOBBLE" WHILE DRIVING. THIS COULD CAUSE ISSUES WITH THE ABILITY TO SEE CLEARLY WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. *LN

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE CONTACT AND PASSENGERS SUFFERED MINOR BRUISES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 147,000.
