THERE APPEARS TO BE A DEFECT IN THE STOCK CHROME GTP RIMS FOR 2004, WHICH CAUSES THE CHROME LAYER TO PEEL OFF. BECAUSE THE CHROME LAYER IS VERY THIN IT ALLOWS CORROSION TO FORM UNDERNEATH THE CHROME LAYER, WHICH CAUSES PITTING AND THE TIRE NOT TO SEAL AND LEAK AIR. THE CAR IS 4 YEARS OLD AND THE TIRES WERE REPLACED APPROXIMATELY 1 1/2 YRS AGO BY THE PONTIAC DEALER I PURCHASE AND MAINTAIN THE CAR WITH. I NOTICED THAT I WAS CONSTANTLY (1-2 X/WEEK) FILLING THE TWO DRIVER SIDE TIRES WITH AIR. I DIDN'T THINK THIS WAS A SAFE SITUATION FOR HIGHWAY DRIVING. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO CHECK THE TIRES FOR LEAKS THE DEALER SAID I NEEDED TO BUY 3 NEW WHEELS AT $700 A PIECE. TWO OF THE WHEELS HAD PITTING WHICH WAS PREVENTING THE TIRES FROM SEALING AND A THIRD WHEEL WAS STARTING TO DO THE SAME THING. I SAID THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT, NOBODY HAS TO BUY NEW WHEELS UNLESS THEY HAVE BEEN DAMAGED IN AN ACCIDENT AND IF THE FIRST SET WERE MANUFACTURED POORLY, WHAT GUARANTEE DO I HAVE THAT THE NEXT SET ISN'T FROM THE SAME LOT? NEXT I CONTACTED THE PONTIAC COMPLAINT LINE. THEY ASKED HOW I WANTED TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. I WANTED THE WHEELS TO BE REPLACED NO CHARGE, AT THE VERY LEAST, I DIDN'T WANT TO HAVE TO PAY MORE THAN $125 PER WHEEL. I POINTED OUT TO THEM THAT WHEN I HAD NEW TIRES PUT ON BY THIS SAME PONTIAC DEALER 16 MONTHS PRIOR, THERE WAS NO MENTION OF THE WHEELS HAVING ANY PROBLEMS. THE COMPLAINT LINE CAME BACK WITH THE REDUCED PRICE OF $300 PER WHEEL AS THEIR OFFER. I COULDN'T DO IT; THERE WAS STILL NO GUARANTEE I WOULD NOT EXPERIENCE THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN. I WENT AND BOUGHT 4 NEW CUSTOM WHEELS FOR UNDER $125 A PIECE FROM A LOCAL TIRE DEALER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ABS, THE TRACTION CONTROL, AND THE ANTI LOCK BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT HUBS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
THIS CAR WAS DECLARED A TOTAL WRECK IN MARCH OF 2008.
ENGINE WAS "BOGGING DOWN" WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCEL. FIRST OCCURRED AS I WAS ENTERING THE OHIO TURNPIKE ACCELERATION RAMP AND COULD HAVE BEEN MORE SERIOUS HAD THE COMMERCIAL VEHICLE NOT HAD ROOM TO MOVE OVER.. GM DEALER DIAGNOSTICS ADVISED INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET LEAKING, FUEL SYSTEM CLEAN UP $300(DONE BY ANOTHER GM DEALER NOT TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION THE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET ISSUE THAT GM WAS FULLY AWARE OF), OIL CHANGE, OTHER FLUIDS REQUIRED TO BE REPLACED TOTAL BILL $2200. GM IS WELL AWARE OF THE EXISTING PROBLEM. *TR
2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX POWER STEERING RACK MOUNT BROKE ON PASSENGER SIDE OF CAR RESULTING IN INABILITY TO MAKE LEFT TURNS. WHEN TURNING LEFT THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL WENT RIGHT AND THE TIE ROD SHAFT RAISED UP, BY VIRTUE OF THE RACK RAISING UP ON THE RIGHT SIDE AND HIT THE LIP OF THE INNER FENDER OR FRAME. THIS LIFTING ACTION RAISED THE FRONT OF THE CAR ON THE RIGHT SIDE AT THE SAME TIME. *TR
DATE DISPLAY SHOWS CORRECT DATE BUT INCORRECT DAY. THIS OCCURRED LAST YEAR DURING LEAP YEAR. IT SEEMS LIKE IT DIDN'T REGISTER THE LEAP YEAR. *TR
WHEN I TURN MY VEHICLE OFF THE HEATER/BLOWER CONTINUES TO RUN. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON THIS AND IT SEEMS THAT GRAND PRIX'S ARE NOTORIOUS FOR THIS. I BELIEVE THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR IT, IT SHOULD BE A RECALL. *TR
2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX SLID INTO THE MEDIAN. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE VEHICLE SLID INTO THE MEDIAN WALL. *KB THE POLICE REPORT STATED THE LEFT REAR TIRE WAS WORN. (OHIO TRAFFIC CRASH REPORT # 10-0072-90). *JB

THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT FILED A FORMAL COMPLAINT WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,500 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 27,000.
WE BOUGHT A PONTIAC GRAND PRIX 2004 AND FOUND OUT ON NOV. 28, 2007 THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE. WE BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE LAST YEAR. NO ONE HAS CONTACTED US BY MAIL ON THIS RECALL. WE HAD PAID FOR IT TO BE FIXED AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHO WE NEED TO CONTACT TO GET OUR MONEY BACK ON THIS. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE CONTACT HAD A SEIZURE AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. BOTH THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER WERE INJURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE DEALER AND MILEAGE INFORMATION AND FUEL TYPE WERE UNAVAILABLE.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX. WHENEVER THERE IS A CHANGE OF FORCE OR MOTION (REVERSE, STOPPING, SHIFTING), THE CONTACT HEARS A "CLICK, CLICK, SLAM" NOISE. IT IS SIMILAR TO A SHIFT IN THE FRAME OR SUSPENSION. HE ALSO STATED THAT IT SOUNDS AS IF THERE ARE LOOSE BOLTS. THE DEALER FOUND THAT THE BOLTS THAT HOLD THE ENGINE TO THE FRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 04V299000 (STRUCTURE:FRAME AND MEMBERS), ALTHOUGH THE FAILURES WERE IDENTICAL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 72,000.
I'VE READ TWO OTHER COMPLAINTS (10187874 - 10154674) IN REGARDS TO THE NO-START. I'VE HAD CONCERNS WITH THIS FOR OVER A YEAR. RARELY, THE CAR WILL START FINE. MOSTLY, I FOUND THAT I MUST GIVE ACCELERATION AT START-UP FOR A SUCCESSFUL START. OTHERWISE, THE CAR WILL EITHER NOT CATCH OR IT'LL JERK AND STALL OUT. OTHER THAN THIS, THE CAR IS FINE. IT'S ANNOYING, BUT I'VE GROWN USED TO IT SINCE IT'S ON AN EVERY-DAY LEVEL. I LIVE IN TN, SO WE ARE IN RELATIVELY WARM CLIMATE. IT'S NOT AN ISSUE OF WEATHER. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL PONTIAC RETAIL FACILITY AND THEY ADVISED ME THEY HAVE TWO OTHER GP'S WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THEY SAID IT MAY BE THE FUEL PUMP GOING OUT. I HAVEN'T TAKEN IT IN YET. *TR
WHILE EXITING OFF OF LINWOOD TO J .C. LODGE SOUTHBOUND. THERE WAS A VAN THAT STOPPED AT THE END OF THE RAMP. SOMEONE HAD THROWN TIRES ON TO THE EXPRESS WAY. AFTER HE PULLED OFF I SAW THE TIRES AND SLAMMED ON MY BRAKES.I WAS UNABLE TO MOVE MY CAR IT HAD CUT OFF. THERE WAS NO MUSIC OR LIGHTS ON IN MY CAR. 30 -40 SECONDS LATER I WAS REAR- ENDED. MY TRUNK WAS PUSHED INTO THE BACKSEAT.WHILE AT THE SCENE THE DRIVER WHO HIT ME BECAME VERY BELLIGERENT AND CONTINUOUSLY ASKED ' WHY WAS I JUST SITTING THERE?. I WAS TAKEN BY AN AMBULANCE TO HENRY FORD HOSPITAL ON W. GRAND BLVD. THE OFFICER AT THE SCENE CAME TO THE HOSPITAL. HE ASKED ME QUESTIONS ABOUT THE CRASH. I TOLD HIM "IT GOT DARK AND QUIET". IT WAS MY IGNITION SWITCH. BOTH ROTATOR CUFFS WERE TORN, DISC IN MY BACK WAS DISPLACED,BROKE MY TOE ON MY LEFT FOOT, SPRAINED MY ANKLE, SURGERY RECOMMENDED FOR BOTH KNEES AND ROTATOR CUFFS. I ALSO HAVE EXTREME JOINT PAIN AND SWELLING ALL OVER MY BODY. HAD SURGERY ON MY LEFT ROTATOR CUFF. I KNOW WALK WITH A CANE. I CANNOT SIT OR STAND FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME. MONTHS AND MONTHS OF PHYSICAL THERAPY AND PAIN MEDICATION. IT KILLED MINES AND MY FAMILY'S LIFE AS WE ONCE KNEW IT. *TR

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO IGNITION SWITCH RECALL AND AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY DURING ACCIDENT. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED SHE SLAMMED ON THE BRAKE, TO AVOID HITTING SOME TIRES, THAT WERE ON THE HIGHWAY. I OWN A 2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX GT2. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE USED WITH 12,000 MILES ON IT. MY VEHICLE HAD NO PREVIOUS OWNERS EXCEPT GM ON THE TITLE DUE TO ITS STATUS AS A DEMONSTRATOR. I DROVE THIS CAR UP UNTIL 56,487 MILES WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT PROPERLY FROM A STOP. A SEVERE SHUDDER IN FIRST GEAR FOLLOWED BY A MISSED SHIFT IN SECOND RENDERED THE VEHICLE ALMOST PARALYZED. THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED AT A LOCAL PONTIAC DEALERSHIP WERE I WAS INFORMED THAT THE INPUT CLUTCH PISTON SEAL WAS BLOWN OUT AS WELL AS SEVERE DAMAGE TO THE CLUTCHES. I HAD NO OTHER OPTION BUT TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION WHICH COST ME $2,690.00. MY VEHICLE HAS THE 4T65E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WHICH IS COMMON AMONG GM 3800 ENGINE VEHICLES. FURTHER RESEARCH HAS SHOWN A COMMON THEME AMONG THESE TRANSMISSIONS. MOST REPORTS OF TRANSMISSION TROUBLES INVOLVING THE 4T65E CLAIM TO HAVE SHIFTING PROBLEMS IN FIRST AND SECOND GEAR WHICH SEEM TO OCCUR AROUND THE 60,000 MILE RANGE. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH IN RAINY CONDITIONS, SMOKE APPEARED FROM THE VENTS APPROXIMATELY TWO MINUTES AFTER THE DEFOGGER WAS ACTIVATED. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF FOR 20 MINUTES. WHEN HE RESTARTED IT, SMOKE BEGAN TO ENGULF THE VEHICLE. HE STATED THAT NONE OF THE COMPONENTS WORKED INSIDE THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY INFORMED HIM THAT THE A/C MOTOR MALFUNCTIONED AND MELTED, WHICH DESTROYED THE ELECTRICAL WIRING SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE POWERTRAIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 83,000.
SAME AS ANOTHER PERSON THAT REPORTED THIS RECENTLY. I HAVE A POOL OF WATER IN BOTH THE FRONT AND REAR PASSENGER AREAS AFTER HEAVY RAINS. I'M TAKING THE VEHICLE INTO THE BODY SHOP TOMORROW, BUT IT ALSO APPEARS TO BE THE PLASTIC PIECE COMING AWAY FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE WINDSHIELD, AND AS THE PREVIOUS PERSON THAT REPORTED THIS ALSO STATED, THE GUY AT OUR BODY SHOP SAID HE'S SEEN THIS WITH GRAND PRIX'S ALSO. *JB

THE STEERING COLUMN WAS REPLACED FOR THE FIRST FAILURE, BUT THE FAILURE HAS RECURRED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT A DIAGNOSTIC WOULD COST $70. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THE COMPONENT WAS PREVIOUSLY REPLACED, SO THEY COULD NOT ASSIST. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 32,900 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000. 2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX BURNS 1 QT OF OIL APPX EVERY 1500-2000 MILES. NO LEAKS AFTER NUMEROUS CHECKS. STARTED ABOUT 40-42,000 MILES (POST 36,000 WARRANTY). PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE FAIRLY COMMON ON THIS YEAR GRAND PRIX GIVEN NUMBER OF POST ON GRAND PRIX CLUB BULLETIN BOARD AND OTHER SITES AND ALL POSTERS NOTING SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCES (IE NO LEAKS). IT WOULD SEEMS PONTIAC HAS PRETTY SIGNIFICANT PROBLEM WITH 2004 ENGINES WHICH THEY FAIL TO ADMIT TO. *TR
HUGE POOL OF WATER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR, IN BOTH THE FRONT AND BACK. THE SHOP-VAC CANNOT GET IT ALL UP. CAUSE LOOKS TO BE BLACK HARD PLASTIC MOLDING AT THE BASE OF THE WINDSHIELD HAS LIFTED AWAY FROM THE WINDSHIELD. HEAVY RAINS IN THE LAST FEW DAYS HAS LEAD TO THIS DISCOVERY. LOCAL GM DEALER HAS SAID THEY HAVE SEEN THIS BEFORE. HAVE ADVISED ME NOT TO DRIVE THE CAR UNTIL THEY CAN SEE IT - THAT'S IN TWO DAYS. *TR
I HAVE EXPERIENCED ENGINE STALLING WITH MY 2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX GT NUMEROUS, NUMEROUS TIMES. THE WEATHER DOES NOT PLAY A FACTOR IN THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE GAS IN THE CAR, SO THAT IS NOT THE CAUSE. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT PINPOINT THE PROBLEM. WHEN THE CAR STALLS THERE IS NO WARNING. IT HAS HAPPEN TO ME AS I AM IN DRIVE MODE, WHEN I AM ABOUT TO START THE CAR, AND SITTING IN THE DRIVE THROUGH AT FAST FOOD RESTAURANTS. THE TIME OF DAY NOR THE TIME OF SEASON DOES NOT PLAY A ROLE. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR TOWED OVER AND OVER AGAIN. MY 1998 GALANT WITH OVER 170,000 MILES HAS NOT GAVE ME ANY TROUBLE, BUT YET A 2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX GT GIVES ME HELL. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE A VEHICLE AND YOU DON'T KNOW WHEN IT WILL STALL. I AM A MOTHER AND TO HAVE MY KIDS IN THE CAR WHEN IT HAPPENS IS VERY SCARY BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHEN THE CAR MAY CUT OFF IN DRIVE MODE. THE CHROME WHEELS ( RIMS ) ARE PEELING. WENT FROM COSMETIC TO DRIVEABILITY ISSUE SINCE THE PEELING CHROME HAS AFFECTED THE BEAD AND/OR VALVE STEM SEALS. THE TIRES LEAK COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF AIR AT VARIOUS RATES. BROUGHT CAR TO DEALERSHIP ON JULY 25. RIMS ARRIVED AND SET APPOINTMENT FOR AUGUST 6. FOUR RIMS WITH TWO DIFFERENT STYLES WERE SENT. RIMS WERE RE-ORDERED AND PROMISED IN TWO WEEKS. HAVE NOT ARRIVED. GM WILL ONLY SUPPLY RE-CONDITIONED RIMS WHICH MEANS CUSTOMER MUST WAIT FOR SOMEONE ELSE'S OLD ONES TO BE RETURNED AND RECONDITIONED. UNACCEPTABLE THAT: 1. GM WILL NOT OFFER NEW PARTS. 2. THERE IS NO AVAILABLE STOCK. ALREADY COMPLAINED TO DEALERSHIP AND PONTIAC DIVISION. NO OTHER SOLUTION OFFERED. THE VEHICLE IS UNDER THE NEW CAR 3 YEAR/36,000 MILE WARRANTY. *TR
CORROSION OF WHEELS CAUSING TIRES NOT TO SEAL. RESULTING IN CONSTANT NEED TO ADD AIR TO TIRES, IMPROPER INFLATION, AND PRE-MATURE WEAR OF TIRES. DEALERSHIP UNWILLING TO WARRANTY OR REPLACE WHEELS. *TR
I PURCHASED A PRE-OWNED 2004 GRAND PRIX IN GOOD CONDITION & WITH LOW MILES IN 2007. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, I NOTICED WATER COLLECTING IN MY PASSENGER SIDE FLOORBOARDS WHEN IT RAINED. I DID NOT ADDRESS THIS WHEN I SHOULD HAVE, BUT THAT DOES NOT DISMISS THE CURRENT FACTS. THE TIME BEFORE THIS LATEST FLOOD, I CONTACTED GM AND STARTED DOING RESEARCH AS TO WHAT MIGHT BE CAUSING THE PROBLEM. I FOUND MANY OTHER CONSUMERS COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ISSUE, AND FOUND A DIRECT ANSWER FROM A NON GM WEBSITE, BUT WHICH HAS GM 20+ YEAR CERTIFIED MECHANICS ANSWERING QUESTIONS. ONE STATED THE PROBLEM WAS IN 04 & 05 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX'S, AND THE LEAK/FLOODING WAS DUE TO A WATER DEFLECTOR KIT NOT HAVING BEEN INSTALLED. I THEN TOOK MY CAR TO A GM CERTIFIED DEALER IN WHICH I WAS DIRECTED BY GM TO GET THE AUTO INSPECTED. THE MANAGER IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT DECLINED TO LOOK AT THE PAPERWORK, STATING THEY DO THEIR OWN DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE LATEST FLOOD HAD WATER STANDING IN MY BACK PASSENGER FLOORBOARD AND CAUSED MY BLOWER MOTOR TO STOP WORKING. AFTER AN 8 HOUR WORK DAY, I HAD NOT HEARD BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP, AND WHEN I CALLED THE MECHANIC SAID THEY STILL COULD NOT FIND WHERE THE LEAK WAS COMING FROM. I HAD A COLLISION IN 2010 AND THEY ASSUMED THAT'S WHAT CAUSED THE LEAK, THOUGH I REPEATEDLY TOLD THEM THE LEAK BEGAN 3 YEARS BEFORE THAT. THE NEXT DAY I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE DEALERSHIP CONFIRMING WHAT I TRIED TO SHOW THEM, THAT MY CAR NEEDED A WATER DEFLECTOR KIT, AND TO INSTALL IT AND REPAIR MY BLOWER MOTOR WOULD BE $400. THEY BLAMED IT ON THE AGE OF THE CAR, AND THE COLLISION I HAD IN 2010. I AM SURPRISED AND DISMAYED THAT GM WILL NOT ADMIT OR CORRECT THIS PROBLEM, AS IT IS OBVIOUSLY A DEFECT UPON MANUFACTURE OF THE AUTO. I WOULD LIKE THIS INVESTIGATED. *JS

PROBLEM NOT REMEDIED OCCURRING 3X THE SAME EVENING AND CONTINUED MULTIPLE TIMES DAILY. I WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND THE PEDAL STUCK, AND I HIT THE BRAKES AND IT WON'T BUDGE. WHEN I WAS ACCELERATING I WAS ONLY TRYING TO GO ABOUT 45 MPH ,AND AT THE TIME WHEN THE PEDAL BEGAN TO STICK I WAS GOING 25-30 MPH, AND THEN AFTER THE PEDAL STUCK I WAS ACCELERATED AT OVER 70 MPH BY THE TIME I PULLED OVER. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE USED, WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK OF OWNERSHIP, I AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE IGNITION. I TURN THE KEY TO START THE CAR, THINK THAT IT HAS STARTED AND FIND OUT IT HASN'T. THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE STOCK CHROME GTP RIMS FOR 2004 (AT LEAST), WHICH CAUSES THE CHROME LAYER TO PEEL OFF. THE CHROME LAYER IS VERY THIN. THIS CAUSES CONCERN, BECAUSE IT INTRODUCES CORROSION UNDERNEATH THE CHROME LAYER, WHICH CAUSES THE TIRE TO NOT SEAL SNUG AT THE BEAD, AND LEAK AIR. I HAVE TO CONSTANTLY (AT LEAST EVERY MONTH) FILL THE TIRE WITH AIR TO AVOID IT GOING FLAT. NOT ONLY IS THIS REPETITIVE AND USUALLY UNNECESSARY WITH OTHER CARS, IT IS UNSAFE. ON THE DATE IN QUESTION (3/7/07), I GOT A FLAT TIRE IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY STREET, AND REQUIRED ASSISTANCE TO INSTALL THE SPARE. THIS INCIDENT ALSO RENDERED THAT TIRE UNUSABLE SINCE IT WAS SHREDDED BY DRIVING ON IT WITHOUT SUFFICIENT AIR PRESSURE - WHICH REQUIRED ME TO BUY TWO NEW TIRES FOR A TOTAL OF $383.98. NOT ONLY IS THE RISK OF A FLAT TIRE TROUBLING, IT ALSO REDUCES THE LIFE OF THE TIRE, REDUCES FUEL EFFICIENCY, AND REDUCES BAD WEATHER PERFORMANCE. AT THE VERY LEAST, I WOULD LIKE TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE NEW TIRES, AND WOULD LIKE FOUR NEW RIMS WITHOUT THIS PROBLEM. I HAD 3 RIMS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY AT 38K MILES, THE OTHER RIM SHOWED NO PROBLEMS AND WAS NOT REPLACED. THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO THE CHROME PEELING OFF THE INSIDE OF THE WHEEL RIM AND AIR LEAKING. NOW AT 48K MILE THE 4TH WHEEL IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND IS LEAKING AIR. *JB

THEY SAID THAT IT WAS POSSIBLY ONE OF TWO THINGS. A PROBLEM WITH THE DEFLECTOR FOR THE FRESH AIR VENT BY THE COWEL OR IT COULD BE THE WATER HOSE LEADING FROM THE SUN ROOF THAT COULD BE CLOGGED. THE FACT THAT WATER IS LEAKING INTO THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR IN THE ARE WHERE THE WATER IS COLLECTING COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS ELECTRICAL SHORT, AS THE AREA THAT THE WATER IS COMING THROUGH THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS OF THE VEHICLE. I VIEW THIS IS AS A DEFAULT IN THE DESIGN OF THE VEHICLE AND WOULD LIKE SOMEONE TO LOOK INTO THIS MATTER. I AM AFRAID THAT LEFT UNATTENDED TO THAT THIS COULD CAUSE A FIRE.
