There are 50 owner-reported air bags & restraints complaints for the 2019 Ram 1500in NHTSA's database. These are unverified consumer reports and may not reflect confirmed defects.
The dash cover has separated from the main dash component. RAM cannot confirm this will not impede the proper deployment of safety airbags in case of a head on collision. This is more than a visual issue, it's a safety issue. Looking online at RAM forums, this has been a common issue with the dash for many RAM owners.
Air bag warning light Diagnosed safety restraint system air bag module Not included in 2019 recall for same issue per dealership
i as in an accident. a vehicle hit me while i was traveling at 50 mph. my air bags did not depoly.
I was driving down the road on my way home from work. And without warning the airbags in both front seats and both front seat belts and the top one close or inside the roof all went off at the same time. Causing me to almost wreak my truck. I went off in the ditch then back on the highway before stopping on the opposite side of the road There is no damage to my truck except a busted plastic piece on the running board. But both front seats are ripped open now cause of the airbags going off the seat belts are locked up and the liner in the roof is messed up. And it now says there is something wrong with my traction control
I am the owner of a 2019 Ram 1500. An airbag deployment incident occurred and Stellantis initiated an investigation into the airbag system. During that investigation, Stellantis and/or its contractor Bosch extracted Event Data Recorder (EDR) crash data from the vehicle's airbag control module using Bosch Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) equipment. Despite multiple requests, Stellantis has refused to provide the extracted EDR data to the vehicle owner. Under Texas Transportation Code §547.615, information recorded by an Event Data Recorder in a motor vehicle is the property of the vehicle owner. The data was taken from my vehicle, yet the manufacturer is refusing to release the information. Because this data relates directly to the airbag system and crash safety systems of the vehicle, I am requesting that NHTSA review this matter and determine whether the manufacturer is improperly withholding safety-related crash data from the vehicle owner.
While riding in the passenger seat of my 2019 Ram 1500 the driver had a hard braking event due to being pulled out in front of. During the braking event the steel seat belt cable that goes into the floor mount came out of the mount throwing me into the dash board of the truck.
Airbag warning light is on no accident. It just came on no airbags have been deployed. There is a recall for similar. Ran 1500 classics of this make and model but not my VIN number for the same airbag sensor light.
Air bag light came on in the instrument panel. I took it to the dealership along with oil change. They scanned the airbag problem and it came back that the passenger front seatbelt had open circuit. My vehicle is not part of the current recall for this issue. I want to let you know that my build of my vehicle should fall under the current recall for the ongoing build dates with this issue.
Ive had the truck for 3 months and airbag light came on. Had it diagnosed to find it has a bad sensor in the seatbelt pretensioner that is stopping the passenger airbag from deploying and the seatbelt from locking. This is a major problem and should be a recall as I had it fixed and paid almost $600 to have replaced. I've called Stelantis and they offer no help as if it becomes a recall in the future they will possibly reimburse me they say.
The contact owned a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving 30 MPH, a Kia Forte ran a red light traveling at approximately 70 MPH, T-boned/crashed on the passenger side, which pushed the vehicle into oncoming traffic, and a Toyota Tundra crashed into the front of the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. There was no reported fire. A police report was filed. The front airbags did not deploy. The curtain airbag deployed. The contact sustained injuries to his back and shoulder, and medical attention was provided. The vehicle was towed to his residence. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was deemed a total loss by the insurance company. The manufacturer was contacted and informed about sending an inspector to assess the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.
There was a recall W67 on the same make and model but my vin was not included. However, I have the same issue now with the seatbelt retractor. It has failed causing the air bag light to come on and they are not sure it will work properly either. I’m hoping this recall can be revisited and extended to my vehicle.
While driving my 2019 RAM 1500 on 12 September 2024 my airbag warning light came on. Shortly thereafter I took my pickup to the RAM dealership's service department to ID the problem. The service manager looked at the airbag warning light and told me that the restraint system works in unison with the seat belt restraint system. So, while troubleshooting the restraint system she pulled on the seat belt multiple times. Each and every time she pulled it with various degrees of force the seat belt failed to lock. She told me that this is a safety issue that needs to be addressed. She went on to say that failure to fix this issue can be very harmful for the driver in a collision where the seat belt restraint fails to lock. She recommended that the vehicle should not be driven until this safety issue is fixed.
Dashboard leather has completely delaminated. High bubbling and excess material causing poor viability and obstruction. Ram will not repair.
I started my truck up one morning and the airbag system light came on. Took it to the dealership and they reported fault code B007F-13 and recommended immediately replacing faulty passenger seatbelt retractor. For some reason my truck was not included in safety recall W67. Dealership quoted out-of-pocket fix was $800. I drove around for several months with the airbag light on because I could not afford to fix. Dealership is finally fixing today. They are applying the same fix they have made to other 2019 Dodge Ram trucks in the recall group. This is a major safety issue and negligence to not include all vehicles affected by this malfunction. My truck should have been included in the recall if it is getting the exact same safety recall fix as other models in the same year.
UNKNOWN. Has an investigation been opened into the delamination of the Leather dashbords, in the RAM LIMITED 1500. Concerned how the disfigured dash surface will impede the function of passenger Air Bag deployment. A review of U Tube. Will have pictures / videos.
Air bag light need service
“Service air bag” warning illuminated. Took car to dealer for service. Told by service agent that light was on due to low battery voltage. Battery 6 months old. Vehicle fine electrically otherwise. Doubting the reason. Haven’t gotten vehicle back yet, thinking warning light not cleared.
I was in a car accident going over 25 plus miles an hour and non of my airbags deployed in my truck. I had to get my neck reconstructed because it broke. I believe if airbags would deployed it could of helped with less injuries.
Both driver and passenger front seat belts simultaneously faulted that they were bad on the SRS system of the vehicle. Nothing happened to the seat belts, but the dealership wants tons of money to fix this issue of which should not happen so early in this vehicle’s life.
On 02/11/2024 my boyfriend and I were involved in a rear-end collision. The driver that hit us was going 60 to 70 mph at the time of impact while we were sitting at a traffic light. The airbags did not deploy and now my boyfriend and I have sustained severe injuries due to the accident.
