I took my 2019 Ram 1500 to a Ram dealer on 10/21/2024 for the Anti-lock Breaking System Module Configuration Mismatch safety recall 75B/NHTSA 24V-653. There were no warning lights on in my vehicle when it was dropped off. When the dealership attempted to apply the safety recall it caused something in the ABS module to fail, and they then said I needed a new ABS module that will cost $500-$700 to replace. This failure has disabled traction control, antilock braking, and auto start/stop. The dealer said they did not have the ABS module and had no ETA as to when it would be in stock. The ABS module has been out of stock nationally for months with no estimated time of availability. Now, there are warning lamps and messages for the ABS and Traction Control. Now, I am unsure if the vehicle is safe to drive in adverse conditions where ABS and traction control would likely be needed. At the very least, a major part like an ABS Module should be available for a fairly late model vehicle. This defect "repair" has obviously caused the ABS Module failure. The dealer tried to say there was already something wrong with the ABS Module before the repairs were attempted, but neither I nor they noted any warning lamps or messages before the repairs were attempted. If the module had already failed but did not produce any warnings, that sounds like another defect that they should be required to repair.
I have warning lights stating that there is a problem with the antilock brake system, and another warning about the brakes. The electronic stability light is on , and the truck won't allow me to turn the ESL warning on or off. And also, my cruise control doesn't work, which stems from the ABS . There is an existing recall, which includes the year, make and model of my truck, but for whatever reason, my trucks VIN number is not included on the recall. The recall that I speak of, is : Campaign number: 24V653000 I've contacted RAM, and they said for me ⁶vto take it to the service department, the service department said they can't do anything about it.Sept
This has happened twice now in the 3 months that I have owned the truck. I was driving at the speed limit, 55 mph, went down a hill and as I started to come back up the hill the gas pedal went to the floor and the rpms topped out at 4000, I shifted to neutral and managed to get into a driveway. I turned the truck off and back on 3 times and it immediately idled at 4000 rpms, in drive, neutral, reverse and park. This was on a curvy two lane highway and could have resulted in a very bad crash. The truck is currently at a shop. The floor mat was not stuck
Brake module is not working traction control not working and cruise control not work because of brake module not working
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while making a turn, the vehicle accelerated very quickly after the brake pedal was released. Several warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the failure was due to a faulty accelerator pedal position sensor. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and determined that the parts for the repair was currently on back order. The failure mileage was approximately 45,144.
Our defrost system on windshield is only working on one side. First things first, the Vin number and the picture listed does not match our vehicle so I will be calling the the safety line to get it fixed. When googling the Dodge recalls. It popped up as a recall but I guess it’s not on our vin number dodge yet? Then the truck automatically started smelling like antifreeze. When driving it sometimes loses power to the gas pedal and starts to slow down! The back windshield started leaking the same day as the defrost malfunction. There is no dash signal when there’s low air in tires….. And depending on speed of the dodge started making like dying whale moaning sounds. When turning the truck off, it stops for a minute, but then it starts again. This truck only has 50,000 miles on it and it should not be tearing up this quick as it is. When pushing the push start on and off, it always goes into a cc mode instead of turning off Last but not least the gas tank is malfunctioning when you put the gas pump into the tank I think the gas is leaking out and you have to constantly reset the gas pump handle. Also, the tailgate is getting stuck and you cannot open it. I’m afraid it’s going to come open when driving. Thank you for your time. Hope to speak with you soon. While passing pushed pedal to floor and it stayed there. got to over 100 MPH before I hit the brakes hard and the over ride kicked in. Had to pull the pedal off the floor.
MULTIPLE INSTANCES, WHEN USING CRUISE CONTROL SWITCHES BECOMES INACTIVE, WILL NOT POWER ON AND SOMETIMES WILL NOT CANCEL SETTING FORCING ME TO TAP THE BRAKES TO DISENGAGE. ON ONE OCCASION WHEN USING THE SET BUTTON IT REVERTED BACK TO A PREVIOUS HIGHER SPEED AND STARTED UNINTENDED ACCELERATION, I WAS ABLE TO CANCEL BY TAPPING THE BRAKES.

THE CONTACT TOOK HIS VEHICLE TO HARRY BROWN'S CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM(1747 GRANT ST NW, FARIBAULT, MN 55021) FOR A ROUTINE MAINTENANCE CHECK AND UNBENOUNCED TO HIM HIS VEHICLE WAS SERVICED FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V513000(VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL). UPON RETURN OF THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE HOLES IN THE DRIVER SIDE FLOOR MAT. THE DEALER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND REFERRED HIM THE THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THIS WAS THE REMEDY TO THE RECALL WAS APPROVED BY THE NHTSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REMEDY EXPOSED THE FLOOR MATS TO OUTSIDE ELEMENTS WHICH CAN CAUSE THE MATS TO BECOME EASILY STAINED. THE CONTACT HAD YET TO EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE.

ON 12/10/19 THE DRIVER WAS DRIVING A 2019 DODGE RAM 1500 WHEN THE ACCELERATOR GOT STUCK AND HE COULD NOT SLOW DOWN. THE DRIVER TRIED PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR TO RELEASE IT BUT THIS DID NOT WORK. VEHICLE HAS ADJUSTABLE HEIGHT GAS PEDAL AND FACTORY FLOOR MATS PROPERLY INSTALLED. AFTER NEAR-MISS ACCIDENT I FOUND THE GAS PEDAL STUCK DOWN ON A VERTICAL RIB OF THE FLOOR MAT. PICTURES ATTACHED. SEVERAL TIMES THE VEHICLE BRAKES HARD (AS IN LOCKS UP THE BRAKES) WHEN BACKING UP AND AUTO BRAKING IS ENABLED, BUT NOTHING IS THERE. SAME THING WHEN DRIVING FORWARD, FORWARD COLLISION WARNING AUTO BRAKES WHEN NOTHING AT ALL IS THERE, ALMOST RESULTING IN BEING REAR ENDED AT LEAST TWICE BEFORE I TURNED IT OFF.. AT LEAST I AM ABLE TO TURN IT OFF. I KEPT THE WARNING ON, AND IT GOES OFF ALL THE TIME WHEN I CROSS SPEED BUMPS OR SHADOWS FROM OVERPASSES. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND CONTINUES AFTER TSBS THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO ADDRESS. CONTACT STATED I BOUGHT MY 2019 RAM 1500 AT THE END OF MAY ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO. IN OVER 40 YEARS DRIVING MY RECENT EXPERIENCE WAS ONE OF THE MOST FRIGHTENING. I GOT ON INTERSTATE 10 HERE IN HOUSTON, I WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE AND THE MOTOR VEHICLES BEHIND ME WERE TWO BIG RIGS MOVING AT A GOOD SPEED. I NEEDED TO GET TO THE LEFT LANE FOR EASY PASS. TO GET OUT OF THE TRUCKERS WAY I "PUT MY PEDAL TO THE METAL" AS THE PHRASE GOES. I FELT I BELIEVE IT WAS THREE CRUNCHES UNDER MY RIGHT FOOT. RIGHT AT THIS TIME MY GAS PEDAL WENT BACK AND HIT THE FIRE-WALL CARPET.WAS DRIVING IN MY 3 MONTH OLD RAM 1500 WITH 1840 MILES ON IT. ACCELERATED TO GET ON THE HIGHWAY, PRESSED THE PEDAL AND IT CLICKED LIKE GEARS WERE BREAKING. I COULD FEEL IT UNDER MY SHOE. THE PEDAL GOT STUCK AND I WAS REALLY ACCELERATING, I HIT THE BRAKE HARD AND IT SLOWED THE CAR. I GOT MY SHOE BEHIND THE PEDAL UP HIGH AND PULLED IT TOWARD ME. THE DASH LIT UP "A!" SERVICE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROLLER! I MOVED THE PEDALS TOWARD ME LIKE A SHORT PERSON WOULD DRIVE. THE ENTIRE PEDAL WOBBLES LIKE ITS BROKEN INSIDE THE UNIT. I PUT A CALL INTO SOMEONE AT THE DEALERSHIP. ON THE FOLLOWING DAY, WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 21ST. I BROUGHT MY TRUCK IN TO THE DEALER. THEY JACKED INTO THE OBD CONNECTOR AND A MINUTE LATER IT SHOUT OUT 6-7 ISSUES. THEY GAVE ME A LOANER CAR AND SAID THIS WOULD TAKE A FEW DAYS TO SORT. I GOT A CALL ABOUT TWO HOURS LATER TELLING ME THAT A NEW THROTTLE CONTROLLER HAD TO BE ORDERED AND THAT WOULD TAKE ABOUT A WEEK TO GET. THEY ALSO SAID THEY COMPARED MY PEDAL WITH A NEW TRUCK AND THAT THERE WAS AN PROBLEM. I'M HOPING FOR A CALL BACK. THIS IS SERIOUS! I HAVE A NEW 2019 RAM 1500. ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS (APPROXIMATELY 6), THE TRUCK UNEXPECTEDLY LURCHES AND BEGINS ACCELERATING BY ITSELF, NEVER STOPPING. THIS ACCELERATION TAKES PLACE IN BOTH DRIVE AND REVERSE. THE VEHICLE CAN ONLY BE CONTROLLED WITH HEAVY BREAKING OR FLIPPING THE TRUCK INTO NEUTRAL. IF THE TRUCK IS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED, THE ACCELERATION STOPS. HOWEVER, IT REOCCURS SHORTLY THEREAFTER, SOMETIMES IN ONLY A FEW BLOCKS. DURING THIS UNCONTROLLABLE ACCELERATION, THE GAS PEDAL DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. THIS CURRENTLY HAS ONLY OCCURRED DURING SLOW SPEEDS WHILE DRIVING IN TOWN. THE DEALER HAS ATTEMPTED TO FIX THE TRUCK NUMEROUS TIMES, UNSUCCESSFULLY. I CURRENTLY DO NOT DRIVE THE TRUCK ON THE HIGHWAY OUT OF FEAR ON HOW THE TRUCK WILL REACT WHEN THIS PROBLEM OCCURS AT HIGH SPEEDS. THIS ISSUE IS A SAFETY RISK TO THOSE IN THE TRUCK AND OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD.
I STARTED MY TRUCK AND BEFORE I COULD PUT IT IN GEAR, A 'THROTTLE FAILURE' WARNING MESSAGE APPEARED ON MY DASH ALONG WITH SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS/SYMBOLS. I HAD NO THROTTLE RESPONSE AND THE ENGINE WAS STUCK AT APPROXIMATELY 1,000 RPM'S. I 'LIMPED' HOME AT A NEAR IDLE. I COULD PRESS THE GAS PEDAL A LITTLE OR A LOT, AND GOT NOTHING FROM THE TRUCK.
I WAS DRIVING FORWARD AT APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH. I ATTEMPTED TO SLOW DOWN BY LETTING OFF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, BUT THE TRUCK KEPT GOING. I WAS ABLE TO STOP, BY USING THE BRAKE, BUT IF I LET OFF THE BRAKE, THE TRUCK WOULD ACCELERATE. I DROVE TO DEALERSHIP WITHOUT USING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE TRUCK WAS LITERALLY STUCK AT 1500 RPM'S. A 'THROTTLE FAILURE' MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE DASH, ALONG WITH BASICALLY EVERY WARNING LIGHT AND SYMBOL.
