My brake pedal when depressed, when stopped, makes a loud noise. My car cycles a buzzing sound often, even when the brakes are not depressed. My warning lights : check VSC system, ABS , warning triangle, a circle with and exclamation point and brake, all are continuing to light up on my dash. I took it to the dealer. Code C1391 (ABS ACRTUATOR INTERNAL FAILURE). This is serious and can cause my brakes and steering control to fail. The manufacturer warranty has expired.
CAR HAD VSC SYSTEM REPLACED DUE TO RECALL A FEW YEARS AGO. HAVING ISSUES AGAIN WITH VSC SYSTEM LIGHT COMING ON, ABS LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT WHILE THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, THE SPEEDOMETER AND ALL OF THE GAUGES STALLED OUT WHILE THE CAR WAS STILL RUNNING. THE CAR GAUGES CAME BACK ON AFTER A FEW MINUTES, PRESENTLY THE GAUGES ARE TAKING A LONGER TIME TO COME BACK ON, IN ADDITION WHILE THE GAUGES ARE OFF THE AIR CONDITIONER GOES OFF AS WELL, WHEN ALL THE GAUGES COME BACK ON THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT COMES ON. WE ARE AFRAID TO TAKE THE CARE OUT OF TOWN BECAUSE WHEN THE GAUGES GO OFF THE CAR IS HARD TO STEER. THIS CONTINUES TO HAPPEN EVERY TIME CAR IS DRIVEN.
ABS BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE WHILE DRIVING. LOSS OF BRAKES, POWER STEERING, ENGINE POWER WHILE ON A BUSY STREET APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION
I GOT IN MY VEHICLE TODAY IN THE VSC LIGHT CAME ON. I HAVE RESEARCHED OVER GOOGLE, AND EVERYTHING POINTS TO A $3,000 REPAIR, OR A RECALL REPAIRABLE BY TOYOTA. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE IF I AM ELIGIBLE FOR THAT RECALL REPAIR.
DRIVING ON FREEWAY, POWER STEERING WENT OUT. PS LIGHT CAME ON PULLED OVER, TURNED CAR OFF FOR FEW MIN, STARTED IT UP AND WORKED OK. IT'S HPPEED 6 TIMES SO FAR.
AS I WAS TRAVELING HOME AND MY STEERING WHEEL START TO HAVE A MIND OF ITS OWN SO IT VEERED TO THE RIGHT AND I LOST CONTROL SO THE CAR SPENT AROUND WE END UP ON THE LEFT SIDE. SEATBELT WAS NOT HELPING PROTECT US AT ALL MY DAUGHTER SEATBELT ALLOWED HER TO SLIDE UNDER BREAKING HER RIGHT FEMUR AND MY RIGHT FEMUR ON PLUS MY ANKLE HAD TO BE RECONSTRUCTED. AIRBAGS CAME OUT 30 MINUTES AFTER THE WRECK. *JB *DT IN TAMPA. STATE ROAD. STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. ACCELERATING ' PULL RIGHT AND THEN LEFT. WHEN GOT CAR, WENT THROUGH BARBED WIRE FENCES. PAR INDICATES HIT TREE, DRIVER DOES NOT REMEMBER. DAUGHTER WAS IN FRONT SEAT, SEAT BELT ON. DAUGHTER FLUNG OVER SEATBELT. SEATBELT OVER ARM. DRIVER DIDN'T KNOW BROKE LEG. WAITED FOR PARAMEDICS. CAR CAVED IN ON OCCUPANTS. DRIVING APPROX 45 MPH. COULDN'T HIT BRAKES OR ANYTHING. DON'T HAVE POLICE REPORT. PAR NUMBER: 87281695. STATE TROOPER ' FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL. DAUGHTER IS 9, WEIGHS APPROX 125 LB. FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. USUALLY DON'T LET SIT THERE. STATED AIRBAG DIDN'T DEPLOY DURING INCIDENT, PICTURES AT IAA SHOW AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. DID NOT CONTACT TOYOTA ' THOUGHT NHTSA TOOK CARE OF. NO INSPECTION CONDUCTED. VEHICLE AT JUNK YARD, DON'T KNOW IF VEHICLE STILL THERE. *JB
SOMETIMES AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE IT WON'T MOVE TO DRIVE OR BACK UP. THIS HAPPENS THREE TO FOUR TIMES ALREADY SINCE 2009 OR AFTER IT IS IN A PARKING POSITION AND CHANGE DIRECTION THE STEERING WHEEL LOST CONTROL OR DIRECTION THIS HAPPEN 2X ALREADY.
"ABS ACTUATOR" TOYOTA KNOWS THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE 2007 CAMRY HYBRID ABS ACTUATOR, MY DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME 10/23/2017 THAT MY ABS ACTUATOR IS GOING OUT. IF THIS HAPPENS IT WILL BE HARD TO STOP AND OR STEER MY CAR WHICH IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I WANT TO BE SURE THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN LODGED WITH THE NHTSA.
"ABS ACTUATOR EXTENDED WARRANTIES", IN 2014 MY CAR HAD TWO ISSUES WITH THE ABS ACTUATOR AND MY DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO GET THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE FROM THEM. NOW MY CAR IS DISPLAYING "CHECK VSC SYSTEM" AND MANY LIGHTS ON MY DASH. WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN TO MY TOYOTA DEALERSHIP THEY SAID IT IS THE ABS ACTUATOR AND IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. TOYOTA HAD 2 EXTENDED WARRANTIES FOR TROUBLE WITH THE ABS ACTUATOR. BOTH OF THESE WARRANTIES HAVE NOW EXPIRED SO MY ABS ACTUATOR CANNOT BE FIXED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTIES. BECAUSE OF THIS FAULTY PART AT ANYTIME I AM DRIVING I CAN LOSE BRAKING AND STEERING POWER. I HAD FILED A COMPLAINT BEFORE WITH YOUR AGENCY FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE BUT THERE WAS NO WAY FOR ME TO HAVE THE PART CHANGED WHEN THE EXTENDED WARRANTIES WERE IN-FORCE BECAUSE THE PROBLEM DID NOT OCCUR AND AS I SAID EARLIER MY DEALERSHIP COULD NOT GET THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE FROM THE FIRST TIME THESE ISSUES OCCURRED.
THE VSC SYSTEM IS OUT AND NO ONE KNOW HOW TO FIX IT EVEN THE DEALER IT NOT SHOWING UP ON THE SCANNERS .I WAS ON THE FREEWAY THE CAR LIGHTS CON ON ON DASH. THE LEFT FRONT LUG NUTS DO NOT STAY TIGHTENED. EACH YEAR, OVER THE LAST 4 YEARS, WHEN CHANGING TIRES FROM THE SUMMER TIRES TO THE WINTER SNOW TIRES, THE LEFT FRONT LUG NUTS DO NOT STAY TIGHTENED. THIS FIRST CAME TO MY ATTENTION WHEN MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ALONE, IN AN ISOLATED AREA, 200 MILES FROM HOME, WHEN THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL ALMOST CAME COMPLETELY OFF BEFORE IT WAS DISCOVERED AS BEING A PROBLEM. THE CAR WAS MOVING FORWARD AT THE SPEED LIMIT ON A 2 LANE ROAD. THIS YEAR, SINCE NOVEMBER 15, I HAVE RETIGHTENED THE LUG NUTS AT LEAST 6 TIMES. I HAVE TRIED LOCK TIGHT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE PULLING INTO A FUEL STATION, THE STEERING WHEEL FRACTURED INTO THE DASHBOARD. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO PULL THE STEERING WHEEL OUT OF THE DASHBOARD AND THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL BRACKETS FOR THE COLUMN FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS CONSUMING APPROXIMATELY 3/4 QUARTS OF OIL. IN ADDITION, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE MAY NEED A NEW ENGINE BECAUSE OF THE RAPID OIL CONSUMPTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,600.

ON SERVICE TICKET TOCS 224493 THERE REMARKS WERE TEST DROVE VEHICLE AND COULD NOT FEEL A PULL ANY DIRECTION CHECKED ALIGNMENT SPECS AND SPECS WERE AT FACTORY SETTINGS RELATED TO STEERING ISSUE...,AND FELT AT FULL TURN TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT, THE WHEEL WOULD NOT ROTATE BACK WHEN GOING FORWARD... WHEN GOING IN REVERSE WITH THE S/WHEEL TURNED ALL THE WAY LEFT OR RIGHT THE S/WHEEL DOES RETRACT AS IT IS SUPPOSED TO...DURING NORMAL TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT THE S/WHEEL DOES RETRACT AS IT IS SUPPOSED TO... IT'S ONLY WHEN THE S/WHEEL IS TURNED FULLY LEFT OR RIGHT THE STEERING WILL NOT RETRACT.... WE CONCLUDED THAT THE ISSUES DESCRIBED BY ARE A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF THIS YEAR AND MODEL VEHICLE. MIKE CALVERT ADMITS MAKING MY CAR WORST THAN IT WAS BEFORE I BOUGHT THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE. THE STEERING WHEEL NOW STICKS IN BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT TURNS AND AT LOW SPEEDS THE TIRES FEEL LIKE I HAVE AN FLAT. I HAVE HAD TIRES REPLACED BECAUSE FRED HAAS TOLD ME THAT THE STEERING WHEEL STICKING WAS BECAUSE OF MY TIRES, THEY ALIGNMENT WAS OUT OF SPECS. I FEEL THAT IS A UNSAFE CONDITION AND NEED TO BE ADDRESSED. TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS OF NO HELP. I HAVE BEEN TO THREE DEALERSHIP FOR THIS PROBLEM. ALL HAVE THE SAME ANSWER BAD TIRES, ALIGNMENT, AND NORMAL CONDITION FOR YOUR CAR STEERING WHEEL TO STICK AND YOUR CAR WILL DO CIRCLES WHEN LOW SPEED TURNING WITHOUT YOUR HAND ON THE WHEEL. TWO TOYOTA TECH. HAVE BEEN IN THE CAR WHEN THIS IS HAPPEN. THERE RESPONSE WAS NORMAL TO DO THAT. THE SERVICE DIRECTOR HAS NOTED THAT THIS IS HAPPENING BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT FULL TURNS. MY CAR WAS ONLY STICKING TO THE LEFT BEFORE TAKING IT TO MIKE CALVERT TOYOTA.
THE TOYOTA WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT PROPGRAM (ZE1) IS A SHAM. MY 2007 CAMRY HYBRID HAS NO BRAKES, NO SKID CONTROL, AND GOES ON AND OFF WITHOUT WARNING. I TOOK MY CAR TO PERUZZI TOYOTA IN HATFIELD PA WHILE IT WAS "UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY" AND THEY FAILED TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM, BECAUSE THE WARNING LIGHTS GO ON AND OFF. I SHOWED PICTURE OF THE LIGHTS ON, AND FOLLOWED TOTYOA RECOMMENDED PROCEDURES ON THE ZE1 ISSUE. I TOOK IT BACK LATER TO SAME DEALER AND THE LIGHTS STAYED ON, AND THEY SAID YES IT IS PART OF THE ZE1 WARRANTY BUT NOW IT IS PAST THE TIME LIMIT. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE, TOYOTA IS SHIRKING THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES BUT NOT ISSUING A RECALL. THE CAR IS DEFECTIVE, DANGEROUS, AND AT $1500 PLUS IN NEED OF REPAIRS. THE PROBLEM CAN HAPPEN STATIONARY, MOVING OR FAILING TO STOP!
THE WATER TEMPERATURE, RPM GAUGE AND SPEEDOMETER RANDOMLY FLUCTUATE, ABS AND BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON. IT OCCURRED WHEN VEHICLE MOVING OR STOP. THE MECHANICS TOLD ME THE ABS MODULE IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FAILED HOWEVER THE BRAKING IS STILL FUNCTIONAL. THE ABS FUNCTION MIGHT STOP WORKING.

THEN THIS HAPPEND AGAIN YESTERDAY TO MY SON HERE'S HIS STORY: WHEN I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK I WAS COMING TO A FOUR WAY STOP THEM ALL OF A SUDDEN ALL THE LIGHTS CAME ON THE DASH BOARD THE BREAKS GOT HARD AND THE STEERING WHEEL TOO AND I HAD TO SWERVE TO NOT HIT THE GREEN TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME THEN IT BARLEY MADE IT HOME. AS OF THIS MORNING I TRIED STARTING IT REVERSING IT AND IT WON'T MOVE ALL THE LIGHTS ARE STILL ON THE VCS CHECK SYSTEM IS ON AND IT WON'T TURN OFF OR MOVE . PLEASE HELP!
