I WAS DRIVING AND MY CAR'S LOW ENGINE OIL LIGHT CAME ON. I BROUGHT IT TO TOYOTA AND THIS EMPLOYEE HELPED ME POUR IN 2.5 QUARTS OF OIL. THIS IS IN BETWEEN THE MAINTENANCE SCHEULE. AFTER GETTING AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST FROM TOYOTA, THE EMPLOYEE TOLD ME THAT TOYOTA'S STANDARD IS THAT WE CAN LOSE A QUART OF OIL FOR EVERY 1200 MILES. I BROUGHT MY CAR BACK TO THEM AFTER 1,000 MILES. THEY SAID THAT MY CAR PASSED THE TEST, I NOTICED THAT THEY ADDED A QUART OF OIL TO MY CAR. THIS IS SO NOT NORMAL! I JUST RECEIVED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY NOTICE A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO. IT DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF NOTIFYING US IF TOYOTA DENIES THAT OUR CARS HAVE THE OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM. THIS POWERFUL COMPANY IS BULLYING EVERYONE. A LAWSUIT DOES NOT HELP GET OUR CARS FIXED. PLEASE RECALL THE CARS. OTHERWISE, YOU ARE LETTING TOYOTA GET AWAY WITH BULLYING BEHAVIOR. THANKS!
STEERING WHEEL STARTED VIBRATING ON REACHING THE SPEED OF 60 MPH. IT WAS MORE PROMINENT WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT WHILE IT WAS NOT AS MUCH WHILE NEGOTIATING THE BENDS. HOWEVER, NO VIBRATION WAS FELT AT SLOWER SPEEDS. I HAVE GOT BOTH FRONT AND REAR ROTORS AND BREAK PADS CHANGED RECENTLY, ALL WHEELS HAVE BEEN BALANCED AND ALIGNMENT DONE. I WONDER IF THE MANUFACTURER WOULD TAKE CARE TO IDENTIFY THE CAUSE AND RECOMMEND REMEDY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.
I HAVE BEEN FEELING FROM LAST 2 OR 3 DAYS THAT MY TOYOTA CAMRY BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING RIGHT AND THEY REQUIRED ADDITIONAL PEDALING TO BRAKE AND SOMEHOW I WAS ABLE TO FEEL THAT IT WAS TAKING EXTRA TIME AND DISTANCE TO STOP AND WAS PLANNING TO SHOW THIS TO TOYOTA DEALER TODAY , I HAVE TALKED ABOUT THIS DURING PREVIOUS SERVICE WITH TOYOTA SERVICE CENTER DURING MY PREVIOUS SERVICE & THEY TOLD ME EVERYTHING WAS OK AND MY BRAKE PADS WERE GOOD,BUT UNFORTUNATELY MY FEARS CAME TRUE TODAY THEN WHEN I WAS DRIVING 20-25MPH AND SUDDENLY A CAR AHEAD OF ME ALMOST 20-25FEET AHEAD BRAKED AND I PUSHED HARD TO BRAKE BUT I COULD FEEL IT WAS NOT BRAKING RIGHT OR THE HYBRIDS BRAKING SYSTEM HAS FAILED AND MY CAR DIDN'T STOP IN THE RIGHT TIME AND WE HIT THE CAR AHEAD OF US.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2009 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE REAR ENDED THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. NO FURTHER DETAILS OF THE CRASH WERE AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
GOODYEAR 215 60R16 TIRES NEW AS OF AUG 2015. HIT A POTHOLE, TIRE BLEW, $4K DAMAGE.
THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR DOES NOT STAY UP AND IS A DANGER TO DRIVE AND CAUSES LIMITED VISION TO SEE THE ROAD. THIS SEEMS TO BE A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH CAMRYS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, THE CONTACT NOTICED COOLANT LEAKING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE WATER PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE WHERE THE WATER PUMP WAS REPLACED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. AFTERWARDS, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,500.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR FELL DOWN INTO THE LINE OF SIGHT OF THE DRIVER CREATING A VISIBILITY HAZARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO INDICATED THAT A SPRING FAILED, WHICH CAUSED THE FAILURE. NO FURTHER INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
OIL CHANGE DONE JUNE 22,2015. WENT TO LOCAL MECHANIC TO CHECK ALL FLUIDS BEFORE DRIVE TO TAMPA. OIL LEVEL VERY LOW. HAD OIL ADDED ON AUGUST 22 ,2015. ON OCTOBER 27, 2015 I NOTICED A RED LIGHT ON LEFT SIDE OF DASHBOARD SAYING MAINT REQD.GOOGLE SAYS TIME FOR OIL CHANGE. STICKER FROM TOYATO SAYS NEXT OIL CHANGE 95,330 MILES, IM ONLY 94,100 OR CLOSE. IS THERE A RECALL. I CONTACTED TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS AN OIL PROBLEM, WINDSHIELD WIPER AND SUN VISOR PROBLEM, WHICH I HAD NOT RECOGNIZED THE OIL PROBLEM. I THOUGHT THE DEALERSHIP HAD JUST NEGLECTED TO PUT THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF OIL IN DOING THE OIL CHANGE. PRIOR TO PROBLEM I RECEIVED POSSIBLE RECALL NOTICE FOR SOMETHING ELSE . CAMPAIGN # ID#15V577 REFERENCE # 878051. I WILL BE CALLING TOYOTA (AUTONATION) IN PINELLAS PARK ABOUT PROBLEM. THE LIGHT COMES ON WHENEVER I START UP THE ENGINE AND STAYS ON FOR ABOUT 2 TO 3 MINUTES WHILE DRIVING.
PURCHASED A USED CAMRY 3 MONTHS AGO AND FIND OUT FRONT AXELS NEED TO BE REPLACED. WHILE DRIVING AND STOPPING HERE A FAST TICKING SOUND.
AIR BAG LIGHT GOES ON , OFF
I OWN A 2009 TOYOTA CAMRY. IN 2013 OR 2014 TOYOTA REPAIRED THE DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR. NOW THE PASSENGER SIDE SUN VISOR IS DROOPING, IT HANGS FREELY AND WILL NOT REMAIN IN EITHER THE UP OR DOWN POSITION. TOYOTA SAYS THEY CAN'T REPAIR THIS SINCE THE CAR IS MORE THAN FIVE YEARS OLD.
MELTING AND STICKY DASH AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A LETTER CONCERNING THIS. THERE WAS A RECALL BUT I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE ANY INFORMATION THAT WILL ALLOW ME TO HAVE IT REPLACED
I MADE AN ERA ON THE FORM JUST SENT. THE CONFIRMATION NUMBER (ODI NUMBER IS: 10744793. THERE WERE 2 HOLES IN THE REAR WINDOW OF MY PARKED VEHICLE; 1 WAS EXTRA LARGE AND THE OTHER ONE A LITTLE SMALLER. THE OTHER PORTION OF THE WINDOW WAS SHATTERED BUT STILL IN TACT. THE POLICE OFFICERS INVESTIGATED TO SEE IF THERE WAS FOUL PLAY, BUT NONE WAS FOUND. THEY FOUND NO ROCKS OR ANY THING ELSE IN THE CAR THAT MAY HAVE CAUSED THE DAMAGE
THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT MY RESIDENCE. THERE WERE 2 HOLES IN THE IN THE REAR WINDOW;ONE WAS EXTRA LRGE AND THE OTHER SMALL. THE REST WAS SHATTERED, BUT STILL INTACT. THE POLICE INVESTIGATED TO SEE IF THERE WAS FOUL PLAY, BUT FOUND NONE.THEY FOUND ROCKS OR OR ANYTHING ELSE IN THE CAR THAT MAY HAVE CAUSED THE HOLES ETC. THE POLICE REPORT NUMBER IS 152829-OF. WHEN I CLOSED THE DOOR THE WHOLE THING CAVED IN. THE OFFICERS TAPED UP THE REAR FOR ME. THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION IN THIS MATTER.

SINCE WE HAVE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, BOTH SUN VISOR'S HAVE BROKEN DUE TO POOR DESIGN WHICH UTILIZES PLASTIC TABS WHERE THE VISOR PIVOTS UP AND DOWN. THE VISORS SUBSEQUENTLY HANG DOWN OBSCURING VISIBILITY. WE PURCHASED A DRIVER'S SIDE ABOUT 1 YEAR AGO AT A COST OF $90.00 AND ON JULY 24TH THE PASSENGER SIDE VISOR BROKE AND NOW NEEDS REPLACING. THIS WILL BE A CYCLE, BECAUSE EVEN THE REPLACEMENT VISOR HAS THE SAME PLASTIC PIVOT. WE LIVE IN ALABAMA AND THE SUMMER SUN VIRTUALLY BAKES THE PART. I EXPECT THIS TO CONTINUE HAPPENING. VERY DISAPPOINTING DESIGN. I'VE OWNED CARS FOR OVER 30 YEARS AND NEVER KNOWN SUN VISORS TO BREAK LIKE THIS. UPDATED 9/15/15 *LN
TRUNK LEAKS DURING HEAVY RAINSTORMS. THERE'S MILDEW IN THE TRUNK SPACE, WHICH IS INFILTRATING THE CABIN AND I'M BREATHING IT IN. I'M CERTAIN THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY, BUT UNCERTAIN AS TO WHETHER IT HAPPENS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. BELONGINGS THAT WERE LEFT IN THE TRUNK HAVE BEEN SOAKED THROUGH. THIS OCCURRED WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE ON A PUBLIC STREET. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM FOR A FEW YEARS, SO THE DATE LISTED BELOW AS TO WHEN IT HAPPENED IS NOT A PINPOINTED DATE.
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. TOOK TO TOYOTA DEALER AND THEY PERFORMED A TEST ON IT AND SAID IT WAS NORMAL TO. LOOSING A QUART EVER 1100 MILES.
I NOTICED WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAYS THAT MY 09' CAMRY WITH 72K MILES SEEMED AS IF I DIDN'T HAVE GOOD CONTROL - LIKE IT WAS FLOATING ALL OVER THE ROAD, KIND OF LIKE A BOAT. I ALSO NOTICED A CREAKING NOISE COMING FROM LEFT FRONT WHEEL WELL WHEN GOING OVER ROAD BUMPS AT SLOW SPEED. I HAD RECENTLY PURCHASED TIRES SO I WENT TO TIRE DEALERSHIP FOR A DIAGNOSTIC . TO MY DISBELIEF I WAS INFORMED THAT MY FRONT STRUTS (LEFT AND RIGHT) WERE LEAKING AND THEY RECOMMEND THAT I REPLACE THEM. DEALER WANTED WAY TO MUCH MONEY FOR THE REPLACEMENT SO I WENT WITH MY PERSONAL MECHANIC. MY MECHANIC REPLACED ALL FOUR STRUTS, SAID THAT THE COIL SPRINGS APPEARED TO BE OK. AFTERWARDS I HAD AN ALIGNMENT AND BALANCE. SHORTLY THEREAFTER I WENT ON A LONG DISTANCE TRIP, AND MY CAR WAS DRIVING LIKE A NIGHTMARE! THE CAR HANDLING WAS WORSE, FELT LIKE THERE WAS NO SPACE BETWEEN ME AND THE ROAD, AND THE CREAKING NOISE WAS WORSE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED FOR A DIAGNOSTIC EXAM AND THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED THE FRONT(LEFT AND RIGHT) STRUT MOUNTS REPLACED AND QUOTED A PRICE THAT WAS $200 LESS THAN I HAD PAID FOR STRUTS TO BE REPLACED. SO I WENT BACK TO MY PERSONAL MECHANIC. HE REPLACED FRONT (LEFT AND RIGHT) STRUT MOUNTS, AND NOW THE CREAKING NOISE IS WORSE AND THE HANDLING ABOUT THE SAME - BAD. SINCE I OWNED THE CAR - BRAND NEW W/ 11 MILES - I AM OWN MY 3RD SET OF TIRES AND HAVE TO HAVE IT BALANCED AND ALIGNED 2 OR MORE TIME A YEAR. I CALLED TOYOTA COMPANY (12/22/2015) AND ASKED IF THEY WOULD GIVE ME A DISCOUNT AT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP FOR ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC AND REPAIRS FOR THE PROBLEM AND THEY SAID NO BECAUSE THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE ISSUE. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY CAR AND AM AFRAID THAT MY CAR IS GOING TO HAVE A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE. WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER TOYOTA! OUR GOVERNMENT NEED TO STEP UP, DO THEIR JOBS AND IMPLEMENT AUTO RECALLS ON ALL DEFECTIVE EQUIPMENT.

IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH, THE ABS AND THE BRAKE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,283.
THE SUN VISOR IN DRIVER SIDE DEFECT , LOOSE AND MAY BLOCK DRIVER'S VISION
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TURN TO THE RIGHT, THE AIR BAG LOCATED UNDER THE DASHBOARD AND THE STEERING WHEEL AIR BAG ABRUPTLY DEPLOYED. THE AIR BAG UNDER THE DASHBOARD RELEASED OBJECTS WITH JAGGED EDGES THAT CUT THE CONTACT'S LOWER LEGS AREA. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS RECEIVED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000.
RAN SOME ERRANDS IN THE VEHICLE. WAS RUNNING PERFECTLY. GOT HOME AND SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF TO UNLOAD GROCERIES AND WHEN IT WAS STARTED BACK UP TO PARK IN THE BARN IT BLEW A HEAD GASKET. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS THAT CAME ON PRIOR AT ALL PRIOR TO THIS EVENT. TOOK TO TOYOTA DEALERSHIP AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CYLINDER #2 MISFIRE, ROUGH IDLE, WHITE SMOKE COMING OUT EXHAUST WHICH WAS CAUSED BY THE BLOWN HEAD GASKET.
ABS LIGHT , BRAKE LIGHT COME ON DASHBOARD, SPEEDOMATER STOPS WORKING, RPM JUMPS UP AND DOWN, THERMASTAT STOPS WORKING, AC STOPS WORKING, I WAS TOLD BY A MECHINIC IT'S THE ABS MODULE AND CAN ONLY BE REPAIRED/ REPLACED BY THE DEALER.
THE DASHBOARD IS VERY STICKY AND MELTING CAUSING A GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE TO DRIVE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS INFORMED THAT THE HEAT CAUSED THE HEADLIGHT LENS AND PLASTIC COVERING TO SOFTEN AND SCRATCH CAUSING THE HEADLIGHTS COVER TO BECOME CLOUDY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
THE SUN VISOR WILL NOT STAY UP. IT DROPS AND HANGS DOWN BLOCKING THE DRIVER'S VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING.
MY VISOR BROKE FOR NO APPARENT REASON. VISORS TYPICALLY DON'T COME OFF OF CARS THAT ARE EVEN MUCH OLDER THAN MY 2009 TOYOTA. THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND ADJUSTING MY VISIBILITY FROM THE SUN.
ABS MODULE IS KILLING SIGNALS TO DASH TO DISPLAY. GAUGES ARE DISPLAYING ZERO DURING DRIVING AND MILEAGE FOR ODOMETER IS NOT MOVING (AFFECTED GAUGES: SPEEDOMETER, TACHOMETER, TEMPERATURE, GAS, ETC). AFTER TAKING THE CAR TO A MECHANIC, THE DEALER QUOTE FOR THE PRICE TO REPLACE THE ABS MODULE WAS $1,800. THE MECHANIC MENTIONED VERBALLY THAT TOYOTA HAD PLANNED A RECALL BUT BECAUSE THERE WEREN'T ENOUGH COMPLAINTS, NO RECALL HAS BEEN FILED. INVESTIGATION INTO THIS MATTER WOULD BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED. 2009 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID THAT HAS BEEN SERVICED SEVERAL TIMES FOR BRAKES. REPEATED REQUESTS TO CHANGE BRAKE PADS, WHICH WAS INITIALLY THOUGHT TO BE THE PROBLEM BUT SEVERAL MECHANICS HAVE CONFIRMED THAT THIS WAS NOT THE ISSUE. CONTACTED TOYOTA HEADQUARTERS WHOM CONFIRMED THAT THERE IS NO RECALL. INSTEAD, OWNERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO VISIT THEIR LOCAL DEALER ONLY IF A DASHBOARD WARNING BRAKE LIGHT IS LIT, WHICH WAS NOT APPLICABLE IN MY CASE ALTHOUGH A DEGREDATION IN THE BRAKE SYSTEM WAS APPARENT. TOYOTA ONLY SENT A NOTICE REGARDING THE BRAKE-FLUID RESERVOIR TANK AND NO WARNING TO CONSUMERS OF A SERIOUS SAFETY RISK REGARDING A DEFECTIVE BRAKE SYSTEM THAT WORSENS OVERTIME. CURRENTLY HAVING A DIFFICULT TIME SELLING THE VEHICLE DUE TO SAME FEEDBACK/COMPLAINT OF SLOW BRAKE RESPONSE, WHICH WORSENS WITH HIGHER SPEEDS AND/OR SUDDEN STOPS. REPORTS OF EXTRA EFFORT IN BRAKE PEDAL APPLICATION, STRONG VIBRATION AND NOISE WHEN ATTEMPTING TO DO A QUICK STOP. THIS ISSUE HAS RESULTED IN THREE SEPARATE CAR ACCIDENTS WITH THREE DIFFERENT DRIVERS, WHEREIN TWO COLLIDED WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE AND ONE STRUCK AN OBJECT, ALL WITHIN A 2-MONTH PERIOD. CLAIMS WHERE FILED UNDER MY INSURANCE AND ALL DRIVERS WERE DEEMED TO BE AT FAULT, BUT TOYOTA SHOULD BE HELD COMPLETELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE (1) DEFECT, (2) FAILURE TO NOTIFY CONSUMERS OF AN URGENT SAFETY RISK AND (3) FAILURE TO RECALL, DESPITE THE NUMBER OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS AND ACCIDENTS WITH NHTSA. TOYOTA'S IMPROPER HANDLING AND FAILURE TO ACKNOWLEDGE A DEFECT IN THEIR PRODUCT WARRANTS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.
BOUGHT 09 CAMRY NEW. IN 2015, @ 130,000 MILES, THE "LOW OIL" WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO DO THE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST, (THEY OVERFILLED THE ENGINE WITH OIL). NOW AT 170,000 MILES, THE CAR BURNS AROUND 2 QRTS OF OIL EVERY 1000. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

FROM WHAT I READ TOYOTA JUST IGNORES THE OBVIOUS PROBLEM OF THAT 2009 MODEL.I HAVE OWNED 4 TOYOTAS PREVIOUSLY,NEVER AGAIN.TO IGNORE AN GOING SAFETY ISSUE WARRANTS NO FUTURE PURCHASES.NEVER AGAIN.
CAR HAD NO OIL LEFT IN IT AFTER 5000 MILES AND JUST GETTING OIL CHANGE AT THAT TIME. WAS TOLD MY 2.4 ENGINE IS KNOWN TO "EAT" OIL PER SERVICE TECH AND TOYOTA IS DOING AN "OIL CONSUMPTION TEST" ON THE ENGINE AFTER I PUT 1200-1300 MILES ON NEW ENGINE OIL. CAR WENT THROUGH 4.5 QTS OF OIL IN 5000 MILES! NOT BURNING OUT EXHAUST AND NOT LEAKING ANYWHERE. SERVICE TECH ADVISED THIS IS KNOWN PROBLEM. ACCORDING TO THEM, AFTER "OIL CONSUMPTION TEST" IF MY CAR "EATS" LESS THAN A QUART IN 1100 MILES THAT IS ACCEPTABLE! THAT IS NOT. I KNOW 20 YEAR OLD CARS THAT DON'T BURN OR LEAK OR "EAT" OIL AT OIL. THIS KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE TOYOTA 2.4 ENGINE SHOULD BE RECALLED AND OWNERS GIVEN A NEW ENGINE OR COMPENSATION. I CANNOT KEEP PUTTING OIL IN CAR EVERY 1100 MILES! THE LAST THREE OR FOUR TIMES I HAD TO TAKE THE CAR AT LEAST 500-1000 MILES BEFORE THE REQUIRED SERVICE MILEAGE. ABOUT 90% OF THE SERVICE MAINTENANCE WAS PERFORMED AT THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP. PER THE TOYOTA SERVICE PACKAGE, THE TECHNICIANS ARE SUPPOSE TO DO A THROUGH INSPECTION OF THE CAR TO NOTIFY ANY AREAS OF CONCERN TO THE CUSTOMER. I READ A TSB THAT WAS ISSUED BY TOYOTA IN NOVEMBER 2011 REGARDING EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION DUE TO A DEFECTIVE SEAL OR PISTON RING. RECENTLY BEFORE I HIT THE ROAD FOR VACATION, I WAS CHECKING MY TIRE PRESSURE AND DECIDED TO CHECK MY OIL LEVELS. THE CAR WAS NOT SUPPOSE TO BE SERVICED FOR ANOTHER 500 MILES AND THEIR WAS NO OIL ON THE DIPSTICK..NOTHING CAME OUT. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE NEAREST JIFFY LUBE AND ASKED THE MECHANIC TO LOOK UNDER THE ENGINE TO SEE IF THERE WAS AN EXTERNAL OIL LEAK. THE MECHANIC CHECKED AND SAID NO OIL WAS LEAKING ON THE OUTSIDE. HE TOLD ME THERE COULD POSSIBLY BE ENGINE OIL BURNING UP, WHICH IS WHY I PULLED THE TOYOTA TSB. THIS IS VERY CONCERNING BECAUSE I WOULDN'T WANT MY ENGINE TO LOCK UP DRIVING AT A HIGH SPEED DOWN THE FREEWAY. TOYOTA SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND SHOULD INVESTIGATE THE MATTER. THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST TOYOTA FOR THE ABOVE MATTER AND I WILL BE SHARING MY STORY.
