THE AIR BAG LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED UNTIL THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.

The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the dashboard was sticky, with a reflection on the windshield, which affected the visibility of the roadway. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the dashboard was replaced under Toyota Campaign Number: ZE6; however, the failure persisted. The dealer was contacted and notified the manufacturer, who informed the contact that the campaign had expired. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 97,000.
THE SUN VISOR FELL IN A PERFECT POSITION BLOCKING MY VIEW WHILE TRAVELING THROUGH A BUSY INTERSECTION I HAD TO STOP TO ADJUST, THE VISOR IT FALLS ALL THE TIME TOYOTA REFUSED TO REPAIR OR FIX IT.
EXCESSIVE ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION. HAVE TO ADD OIL AT 830 MILES. BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES FOR OIL CONSUMPTION TEST BUT WAS ALWAYS TOLD IT PASSED THE TEST. RECEIVED A WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT NOTIFICATION FROM TOYOTA BUT IT'S ALREADY EXPIRED. IT WAS NOT EXPIRED WHEN I BROUGHT MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES.
EXCESS OIL CONSUMPTION (3+ QUARTS AT 2000 MILES USE). ONGOING ISSUE...AUTO TECHNICIAN INDICATED IT WAS DUE TO TOYOTA RECOMMENDED OIL VISCOSITY TOO THIN ALLOWING RINGS ON PISTONS TO SEIZE; THEREBY ALLOWING EXCESS OIL TO BYPASS AND BURN OFF.
VEHICLE HAS EXCESSIVE OUL CONSUMPTION. WE RECEIVED NOTIFICATION FROM TOYOTA OF THE PROBLEM.
I AM HAVING ISSUES WITH BACK PASSENGER WINDOW ON DRIVER SIDE. I HAVE TO PRESS THE BUTTON AT LEAST THREE TIMES BEFORE IT ROLLS UP. ALSO MY CAR CONSUMES OIL. THE BLACK,TOP OF MY DASHBOARD IS STICKY AND HAS CRACKS. I HAVE BEEN TO MY LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERS AND NO ONE HAS ADDRESSED THESE ISSUES. HOW DO I GET REMEDY BEFORE CONTACTING LEGAL COUNCIL?
MY 2009 TOYOTA CAMRY IS CONSUMING AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL. DURING MY LAST REGULAR OIL CHANGE, THE DIP STICK WAS DRY. I ASKED THE TECHNICIAN TO ENSURE THERE WERE NO LEAKS AND EVERYTHING WAS TIGHT AND HE ASSURED ME IT WAS. I BEGAN GOOGLING THE ISSUE AND LEARNED THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH MY YEAR/MAKE/MODEL. IT IS CONSUMING OIL AT AN ALARMING RATE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE PASSENGER SIDE SUN VISOR FRACTURED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR MADE A CLICKING NOISE AND WAS CLOSE TO FRACTURING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
MY EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION ENGINE NEEDED REPAIRS PER A TOYOTA MAJOR RECALL. I TOOK THE CAR AND AS YOU CAN SEE BELOW IT HAS BEEN A VERY FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE. AFTER BEING TOLD THAT MY 2009 TOYOTA CAMRY WAS ON A RECALL LIST, I WAS GIVEN A POSSIBLE REPAIR DATE OF WITHIN 10 MONTHS. I WAITED AND WAS GIVEN A DROP OFF DATE OF 1/23/2017. I WAS GIVEN A RENTAL CAR AND WENT ON TO WORK. AFTER 5 DAYS I WAS TOLD MY CAR WAS READY BUT, THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR PARTS THAT WERE REMOVED/REPLACED TO DO THE WORK ON THE RECALL. I QUESTIONED WHY I WAS BEING CHARGED FOR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES TO PARTS THAT SHOULD BE INCLUDED AS PART OF THE LABOR DUE TO THE RECALL. I GOT FETCHED A LONG STORY FROM TOYOTAS 800 NUMBER AND I HAD NO CHOICE BUT, GO PICK UP MY CAR AND PAY THE $269.54. I PICKED IT UP AND NOTICED THAT IT WAS DRIVEN 58 MILES, UPON LEAVING AND AS I GOT ON THE MAIN ROAD I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A HUGE CRACK ON MY WINDSHIELD AS WELL. I CALLED BACK AND SPOKE TO [XXX] , HE WAS RUDE, A BULLY, AND ACCUSED ME OF LYING ABOUT THE DAMAGE. I BEGGED THEM TO PULL THEIR SECURITY TAPES WHICH THEY REFUSED. TOYOTA SHOULD PAY FOR THIS RECALL TO INCLUDE ANY PARTS THAT SHOULD GET DAMAGED IN THE PROCESS AS THEY PERFORM THEIR REPAIRS. I'M ASKING FOR A FULL REFUND AND AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE DAMAGED WINDSHIELD. I REFUSE TO GO BACK TO THEIR STORE AND PREFER TO HAVE THE WINDSHIELD REPLACED AT EITHER MY RESIDENCE OR PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT. I'VE OWNED 3 TOYOTAS AND REFUSE TO GO BY AND PURCHASE MY NEXT CAR FROM [XXX]. I REALIZE THAT I AM A SINGLE CUSTOMER HOWEVER; I WORK HARD FOR MY MONEY. DASHBOARD MELTING PRODUCING STICKINESS AND A GLARE ON WINDSHIELD
FRONT SPRING COILS BREAKING - RIGHT FRONT BROKE WHILE DRIVING AND WHEN I TOOK IT IN THEY TOLD ME THE LEFT FRONT WAS ALSO BROKEN! COST ME 500.00 TO FIX BOTH!
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME MY CHECK ABS SYSTEM HAS COME ON. THE FIRST TIME THE BRAKES WERE VERY HARD TO WORK AND WOULD HARDLY STOP AND GRABBED. THIS WAS FOUND TO BE A BROKEN WIRE IN IN THE REAR OF THE CAR. NOW IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN AND THIS TIME THEY SAY IT IS THE REAR HARNESS THAT IS BAD AND IT IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. MOST OF THE 79 COMPLAINTS ARE FOR THESE PROBLEMS AND THERE IS YET TO BE A RECALL. THIS IS NUTS! DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO GET KILLED BEFORE THE NHTSA DOES ANYTHING. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE, ITS THE BRAKES!!! .
STARTING IN 2013 I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH OIL USAGE. OF COURSE I WAS TOLD IT WAS A RANDOM ISSUE AND NOT HAPPENING TO OTHER VEHICLES. MY ENGINE BLOW IN JAN 2014. I HAD TO PAY TO REPLACE IT BECAUSE IT WASN'T UNDER WARRANTY. AROUND AUGUST OF 2015 I GET A LETTER ABOUT THE OIL CONSUMPTION. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL DEALER FOR THE TEST, OF COURSE MY ENGINE FAILED THE TEST. WE SCHEDULED TO HAVE THE PARTS REPLACE IN SEPT 2015. THE WORK WAS COMPLETED AND IT HAD A ENGINE NOISE WHICH I WAS TOLD WAS NORMAL. IN FEB 2016 MY ENGINE BLEW AGAIN !! I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THEY DID NOTHING WRONG !! HOW ?? IT WAS FINE, JUST USING OIL UP UNTIL THEY TOOK IT APART AND FIXED THE PROBLEM !! NOW THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING BECAUSE IT WAS NOT THE ORIGINAL MOTOR !! BUT I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE ORIGINAL MOTOR AND THEY DID NOTHING THEN EITHER !! SO I HAVE A CAR SITTING IN STORAGE THAT CANT BE DRIVEN AND THEY WANT TO NOTHING !!
NTSB: 2009 TOYOTA CAMRY: CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE HAD A CONSISTENT PROBLEM WITH THE LEFT SIDE MOTOR MOUNT, DOG BONE, AND A POOR QUALITY RUBBER INSULATOR COMPONENT. *SS THE CONSUMER STATED SHE WAS SHOWN WHERE THE INSULATOR HAD CRACKED AND SPLIT. *JB

THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE FAILURES RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE GLARE CREATED BLURRY VISION AND AN INABILITY TO SEE THE ROADWAY CLEARLY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS MELTING AND VERY STICKY. THIS IS THE 3RD TIME THAT MY CHECK VSC SYSTEM HAS COME ON. I WAS DRIVING ON THE STREET AND CAME TO A LIGHT AND MY BRAKES LOCKED AND I COULDN'T STOP RIGHT AWAY. LUCKY THERE WAS NO CAR IN FRONT OF ME BECAUSE I WOULD HAVE HIT THEM. I HAD PRESS HARD ON THE BRAKES WHICH CAUSES THE CAR TO START BUCKING. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I AM LOOKING TO PURCHASE ANOTHER CAR BECAUSE I DON'T FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR.
THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED SUDDENLY. IT HIT A SIDEWALL ON THE RIGHT AND CAREENED TO THE LEFT AND FINALLY CAME TO A STOP WHEN IT HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. AT THIS POINT, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS STILL LOCKED DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING AND IT WAS STILL IN DRIVE
ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 27,2016 I GOT OUT OF MY CAR,OPENED THE TRUNK, TOOK SOME THINGS OUT, TRIED TO CLOSE IT, IT BOUNCED UP. I FOUND OUT THE TRUNK LOCK PAD WOULD NOT LOCK, I WAS TOLD TO ORDER A DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR INTEGRATED WITH A LATCH. RECEIVED IT, PUT IT ON AND IT DID THE SAME THING. THIS COULD CAUSE MORE DAMAGE TO THE CAR AND INJURY TO A PERSON ESPECIALLY IF IT HAPPENS IN ROUTE. PUT NEW PART ON AND IT WONT LOCK. FEEL ITS DEFECTIVE AND TOYOTA SHOULD HAVE TO ALTAR THE SITUATION.
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: MY 2009 TOYOTA CAMRY IS PART OF THE ZE7- WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM FOR EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. MY CAR DID NOT EXPERIENCE THIS ISSUE UNTIL LATE NOVEMBER AND WHEN THE CAR WAS AT 142,500 MILES. I CONTACTED TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS ADVISED THAT SINCE THE VEHICLE WOULD BE UNDER 150,000 WHEN THE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST WAS INITIATED IT STILL MET THE SERVICE GUIDELINES. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP TO INITIATE THE TEST WITH THE CAR STILL UNDER 150,000 MILES. DESPITE THE DEALER DID THE REPAIRS, THE OIL EXCESSIVE CONSUMPTION STILL PRESENT. THE CAR HAS DIMINISHED VALUE DUE TO THIS KNOWN ISSUE AND I HAVE TO EITHER COVER THE REPAIR COST OR DEAL WITH THE ISSUE WHICH INCLUDES CONSTANTLY CHECKING MY OIL TO MAKE SURE IT DOESN'T\'T RUN OUT AND COMPLETELY KILL THE ENGINE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I WOULD HAVE NEVER PURCHASED THIS CAR HAD I KNOWN ABOUT THIS ISSUE. INTERESTED IN CLASS ACTION?: YES
POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY HAS BEEN RE-CALLED WHEN I TOOK TO TOYOTA THEY DETERMINED IT ONLY NEED TO HAVE GREASE APPLIED EVEN THO THE UNIT IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY.
MY DASHBOARD IS VERY STICKY AND MELTING. THE STICKY DASHBOARD HAS A GLARE IN THE WINDSHIELD AND IS VERY DANGEROUS. I COULD HARDLY SEE WHERE I'M GOING WHEN THE SUN IS SHINING. THE GLARE FROM THE DASHBOARD SHINES IN MY FACE AND SOMETIMES BLINDS ME. PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE.
THE "LOW OIL PRESSURE" LIGHT FLICKERED BRIEFLY A FEW DAYS AGO, THEN AGAIN THE EVENING OF 1/10/2016. I HAD MY COUSIN CHECK THE OIL LEVEL MORNING OF 1/11/2016. HE SAID IT WAS EXTREMELY LOW. I WENT TO THE SERVICE PLACE THAT CHANGES MY OIL. HE HAD TO ADD 3 QUARTS OF OIL AND SAID I NEEDED TO KEEP A CLOSE CHECK ON IT. I AM VERY DILIGENT IN MY OIL CHANGES AND MAINTAINING MY CAR. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE DRIVEN ON A DIRT ROAD IN ORDER FOR IT TO COME TO D A STOP. ALL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS THE ACTUATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 93,000.

ENGINE CONSUMING OIL
The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the dashboard was melting. The contact stated that the sun was reflecting on the dashboard, which caused the driver’s view to be obstructed. There was a sticky substance on the dashboard. Additionally, the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was determined that the dashboard needed to be replaced. The dashboard was replaced, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and the contact was informed that the replacement would be an out-of-pocket expense. The failure mileage was unknown.

THE DASHBOARD ON THE 2009 TOYOTA CAMRY IS A DANGER FOR ANY OWNER. WITH THE DASHBOARD BEING STICKY/MELTING, WHEN LIGHT HITS THE DASHBOARD IT CAUSES MAJOR BLIND SPOTS THAT COULD CAUSE MAJOR ACCIDENTS. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR ANY AUTOMOBILE TO BE ON THE ROAD WHEN YOU COULD POTENTIALLY RUN OVER PEOPLE OR HIT OTHER VEHICLES WHEN THE GLARE FROM THE MELTING DASHBOARD REFLECTS OFF THE WINDSHIELD.

AS I WAS PULLING INTO MY CAR SPACE AT WORK, MY 2009 CAMRY ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING AND SURGED INTO THE BRICK WALL OF A BUILDING.
GOODYEAR TIRES NEW AS OF AUG 2015, HIT A CURB, TIRE BLEW.

PASSENGER MIRROR STOP RESPONDING AFTER FEW SECONDS. WHEN I USE MIRROR SWITCH TO DRIVER SIDE AGAIN AND BACK A CAN USE ( UP, DOWN , RIGHT, LEFT) FOR A FEW SECONDS AND IT STOP AGAIN.
WATER PUMP FAIL ON 79800. START MAKE CRANK NOISE AND THEN ANTIFREEZE STAR SPILL ALL OVER.
LIMITED VISIBILITY THRU WINDSHIELD DUE TO DASHBOARD REFLECTION (MELTING DASHBOARD HAS CAUSED A HIGH GLOSS FINISH). THIS CONDITION HAS BECOME PROGRESSIVELY WORSE OVER TIME AND PRESENTS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. TOYOTA HAS CREATED A WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM TO REPLACE THESE DEFECTIVE DASHBOARDS, HOWEVER, MY DEALERSHIP HAS INDICATED THE DASHBOARDS ARE LIMITED AND SAID HE HAS A CUSTOMER ALREADY WAITING 6 MONTHS. I TALKED WITH TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY WOULD NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THIS AS A SAFETY HAZARD, COULD NOT TELL ME WHEN A REPLACEMENT DASHBOARD WOULD BE AVAILABLE AND REFERRED ME BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. TOYOTA DOESN'T SEEM COMPELLED TO REPLACE THESE PARTS IN A TIMELY MANNER. IN MY OPINION THIS IS MOST DEFINITELY A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND SHOULD BE CLASSIFIED AS A RECALL AND NOT A 'WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT". PLEASE SEE ATTACHED IMAGES.
TRANSMISSION HESITATES WHEN ACCELERATING FROM SLOWING DOWN OR STOPPING AND WHEN INITIALLY PUTTING INTO REVERSE
I HAVE BEEN THE SOLE OWNER OF THIS CAMRY. BACK IN 2015 I TOOK IT TO A DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE AND BROUGHT UP TO THE TECHNICIAN THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS STICKY. AT THE TIME THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO ABOUT IT AND REPLACING IT WOULD COST ME A LOT OF MONEY. NOW 4 YEARS LATER I FIND OUT THAT THERE WAS A WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT THAT COVERED THE DASHBOARD. MY DASHBOARD IS NOW SO STICKY THAT IT IS GLISTENING. I TRIED TO USE A SUN VISOR HOPING IT WOULD SLOW THE RATE OF MELTING BUT THEN MY SUN VISOR WOULD STICK TO THE DASHBOARD. I PLACE A HAT ON THE DASHBOARD ONCE FOR 10 MINUTES AND WHEN I REMOVED IT THERE WAS BLACK RESIDUE. FINALLY, I HAVE A CHILD NOW AND WHEN HE GETS INTO THE CAR HE HAS PUT HIS HANDS ON THE DASHBOARD AND GOTTEN THE BLACK DEBRIS AND CHEMICALS ON HIS HANDS AND I AM NOW CONCERNED FOR HIS HEALTH AND SAFETY. THERE WAS ALSO A WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT WITH THE OIL CONSUMPTION. MY SPOUSE CHANGES MY OIL FOR ME AND OVER THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS COMMENTED THAT I WAS SURPRISINGLY VERY LOW ON OIL. I AM WONDERING WHY I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY NOTICE FROM TOYOTA FOR EITHER OF THESE ISSUES EVEN THOUGH THEY CLAIM NOTICES WERE SENT OUT. I HAVE OPENED A CASE WITH TOYOTA #1911082336. THEY TELL ME THAT I AM OUT OF THE WINDOW FOR REPAIR AND IT WOULD NOW HAVE TO BE OUT OF POCKET WHICH IS VERY FRUSTRATING CONSIDERING I NOTIFIED THEM OF THE DASHBOARD ISSUE BEFORE.

OIL CHANGE BY JIFFYLUBE 02/22/14 AT 67,433 MILES, REPORTING OIL LEVEL 1 QUART LOW ON ARRIVAL. OIL CHANGE 09/27/14 BY DEALER AT 71,774 MILES. OIL LIGHT ON ~06/29/2015 FOLLOWED BY OIL CHANGE BY JIFFYLUBE 07/01/15 AT 76,277 MILES, REPORTING OIL LEVEL 1 QUART LOW ON ARRIVAL. OIL LIGHT CAME ON 10/30/2015 THEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON 10/31/2015. STOPPED BY JIFFYLUBE 11/01/2015 AT 78,035 MILES TO LEARN OIL LEVEL WAS ONCE AGAIN 1 QUART LOW. FLUIDS TOPPED OFF BY JIFFYLUBE. HOWEVER, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINS ON. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF OTHER SUCH REPORTS EXIST, IF THIS HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS AN ISSUE, IS BEING TRACKED AND NEXT STEPS. THANK YOU. *TR
11/01/2015 @ 10:05AM ON MARYLAND ROUTE 29 NORTH, ROUTE 40 EXIT. CAR SPEED AROUND 30 MPH - SLOWLY EXITING ON RAMP. SUDDENLY, FOUR DISTINCT BEEPS WERE HEARD AND CAR ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. LOST STEERING AND CONTROL OVER SPEED - CAR ZIG/ZAGGED. STEPPED ON BRAKE AS HARD AS I COULD - CAR EVENTUALLY CAME TO A STOP. ROAD CONDITION WAS SLIGHTLY DAMP AFTER LIGHT RAIN. LUCKILY, NO OTHER CAR WAS AROUND. TAKING THE VEHICLE TO TRUSTED MECHANIC TO HAVE IT EVALUATED FOR SAFETY CONCERNS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRES WERE RUBBING AGAINST THE VEHICLE AND CAUSED THEM TO WEAR OUT IN THE INSIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO EXPLAINED THAT THE SPRINGS WERE TOO LOW CAUSING THE TIRES TO WEAR PREMATURELY. AS A RESULT, THE TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. ...UPDATED 02/19/16 *BF *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING OR WHEN THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS IN REVERSE OR DRIVE, THE VEHICLE WOULD VIBRATE VIOLENTLY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. IN ADDITION, THE AIR COMPRESSION FAILED TO FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE AN OIL PRESSURE CONSUMPTION TEST WAS PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,852.
AT ABOUT 80,000 MILES NOTICED THAT MY WIFE'S CAR STARTED USING OIL AND A COUPLE TIMES THE OIL LIGHT HAD COME ON WHICH SCARED HER. I CONTACTED TOYOTA LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS NORMAL??? I'VE BEEN A TECHNICIAN MY WHOLE LIFE AND TOLD THEM THEY WERE NUTS. NOT LOG AFTER WE GOT A NOTICE ABOUT AN OIL CONSUMPTION TSB AND TOOK IN FOR THE TEST. THEY TEST IT BEFORE THE OIL HAS ANY CHANCE FOR VISCOSITY LOSS WHICH NATURALLY IS GOING TO PASS. IT USES APPROX. 2-3 QTS. OF OIL IN A 3,000 MILE OIL CHANGE WHICH IS ABSURD. I'VE OWNED TOYOTA'S FOR OVER 30 YEARS BUT I'VE TOLD THEM THIS IS IT NO MORE OF THEM. THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE THIS COULD LEAVE THIS CAR DISABLED MOST ANYWHERE EVEN IN THE ROAD!!! PLEASE MAKE TOYOTA FIX THIS PROBLEM WHICH IS HUGE AS EVERYONE I'VE SPOKEN WITH ON THIS MODEL HAS THE SAME PROBLEM! IS THERE NO HONOR JUSTICE ANYMORE?
A WHITE SMOKE COMES FROM THE EXHAUST EVERY TIME I START THE CAR.
