MY CAR DOES NOT START WHEN THE WEATHER GETS CHILLI. TRYED SO MANY TIMES BUT WON'T TURN ON
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2009 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDETERMINED SPEED, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A SECOND VEHICLE. DURING THE CRASH, THE FRONT END SUSTAINED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED FACIAL AND HEAD BRUISES, AND AN INJURED BACK AND LEG. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,000.
THE WATER PUMP IS MAKING A TERRIBLE NOISE, AND WILL FAIL SOON. TOYOTA RECALLED 2.7 MILLION VEHICLES FOR WATER PUMP PROBLEMS BUT THEY SAY MINE IS NOT RECALLED. I THINK IT SHOULD BE. IT IS MAKING A TERRIBLE NOISE.
FAILED OIL CONSUMPTION TEST X 2. DEALER STATED I PAY FOR ANY DAMAGE TO ENGINE, ONLY PISTON RINGS COVERED. DEALER STATED I PAY IF THEY DAMAGE ENGINE DURING REPAIR/RECALL.
DRIVING AT ABOUT 30 MPH ON A STRAIGHT ROAD 6AM APPROX. 1 MILE FROM MY HOUSE. I APPLIED BRAKES INTENDING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN THEN VSC WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND BRAKES DID NOT WORK PROPERLY. NO CARS IN FRONT OF ME, HAD TO PUSH HARD ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO SLOW THE CAR. I MISSED MY INTERSECTION TO TURN. IT IS AS IF THE POWER SYSTEM TO THE BRAKES STOPPED WORKING. I SLOWED ENOUGH TO TURN THE CAR ONTO A SIDED STREET AND PUMPED THE BRAKES HARD, IT IS STILL DIFFICULT TO BRAKE, BUT AT LEAST I KNOW I HAVE TO APPLY HEAVY FOOT PRESSURE TO BRAKE. TURNED CAR OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN AND VSC LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN, THEN TURNED OFF AFTER 1 MINUTE AND POWER BRAKING RETURNED TO NORMAL.
I NOTICED MY CAMRY WAS LOW ON OIL. TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THERE IS A RECALL ON MY ENGINE FOR EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. THEY VERIFIED INDEED MY CAR HAS AN EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM. TOYOTA DEALERSHIP SAID THEY WOULD EVENTUALLY FIX IT BUT ALL THE PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER. AT FIRST THEY SAID IT COULD TAKE A MONTH OR TWO. I CALLED BACK A MONTH LATER, DEALERSHIP SAID THEY COULD NOT TELL ME A DATE AND IT MAY TAKE A YEAR UNTIL THEY HAVE PARTS. I FEEL THAT MY CAR IS BEING COMPROMISED BURNING OIL LIKE THIS. I AM HAVING TO PUT A QUART IN SOMETIMES EVERY 700 MILES! WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES OF WAITING THIS LONG TO GET THE REPAIR DONE AND MAY HAVING TO WAIT A YEAR IF TOYOTA EVEN GETS BACK TO ME. I FEEL THAT THEY ARE AVOIDING ME AND NOT ACTUALLY GOING TO FIX THIS REPAIR IN A TIMELY MANNER.
AT START UP THE GAUGES STARTED TO WORK INTERMITTENTLY, AFTER A WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THEY START WORKING FINE AFTER A FEW MILES THEY START JUMPING AND FALLING. BRAKE LIGHT AND ABS LIGHTS COMES ON AND AC QUITS WORKING WE HAVEN T DRIVE THE CAR SINCE THIS STARTED HAPPENING CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD US TO TAKE TO SERVICE, BEFORE THAT I WILL LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE'S A RECALL FOR THAT. ON THE LAST SERVICE MADE BY TOYOTA DEALER, THEY WASHED THE ENGINE, A PRACTICE THAT I AM NOT AGREE, DOES THAT MAY BE THE CAUSE? LET ME KNOW, THANKS *TR
STICKY/DETERIORATING DASHBOARD. VEHICLE PURCHASED BRAND NEW IN 2009 FROM A TOYOTA DEALER. VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN SERVICED AT A CAR WASH. SPRAY PRODUCTS DESIGNED TO PRESERVE VINYL HAVE NEVER BEEN APPLIED. NOTICED WEEK OF 9/1/2016 THAT THE DASHBOARD BENEATH THE WINDSHIELD IS GUMMY. PRIOR TO THIS DISCOVERY, WE HAD BEEN FIGHTING A STRANGE DEPOSIT ON THE INSIDE SURFACE OF THE WINDSHIELD. WE BELIEVE IT WAS OFF GASSING OF THE CHEMICALLY CHANGING DASHBOARD.
EXCESSIVE OIL USAGE. THE VEHICLE HAS NO APPARENT LEAKS, BUT CONSUMES MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF OIL. I DID NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE OIL CONSUMTION UNTIL OVER 150,000 MILES.
I BOUGHT MY 2009 TOYOTA CAMRY LE 2.4 IN 2011 AND LAST YEAR I STARTED HAVING PROBLEM WITH DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR, IT STARTED NOT TO STAY COMPLETE CLOSED AND STARTED TO STAY OPEN, I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, THEY SAID IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BUT I DID NOT WANT TO PAY FOR IT, NOW I AM TRYING TO SEE IF THIS IS A RECALL OR MANUFACTURER FAULT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE ABS AND BRAKE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED; HOWEVER, NO BRAKE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NORTH HOLLYWOOD TOYOTA (4606 LANKERSHIM BLVD, NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA 91602, (800) 800-6730) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ABS MODULE ACCURATOR FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO COST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.
IT CONSUME TOO MUCH ENGINE OIL. I HAVE TO ADD OIL EVERY OTHER DAY. AFTER 1000 MILES IT BECOMES DRY . I TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC, HE SAID ALL THE TOYOTA CAMRY 2009 HAVE THIS ISSUE, THE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
ABS, A/C, AND SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING. HAD TO REPLACE ABS MODULE/ACTUATOR FOR A COST OF $2,156.65! CAR ONLY HAD BEEN DRIVEN 71,779 MILES. I UNDERSTAND THAT THE TOYOTA HIGHLANDER HAD A RECALL FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET. TOYOTA WILL NOT REIMBURSE ME FOR THIS SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE I DIDN"T HAVE THE REPAIR WORK DONE AT A DEALER EVEN THOUGH THE PART WAS OBTAINED FROM THE DEALER.
ON 06-21-2016, WE TOOK OUR 2009 TOYOTA CAMRY SE TO WONDRIES TOYOTA IN ALHAMBRA CA FOR THE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST UNDER THE ENHANCEMENT WARRANTY (ZE7). WE WERE TOLD BY THE SERVICE ADVISOR TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE (WHICH HAD 61088 MILES) FOR APPROXIMATELY 1100-1300 MILES THEN BRING IT BACK IN FOR THE RE-INSPECTION. ON 08-29-2016, WE BROUGHT OUR CAMRY BACK INTO THE DEALERSHIP WITH 62330 MILES ON IT. WE WERE TOLD BY THE SERVICE ADVISOR THAT OUR VEHICLE DID NOT FAIL THE TEST. THE VEHICLE HAD ONLY USED UP "A 1/4 OF A QUART OF OIL" AND IN ORDER TO FAIL THE TEST IT WOULD'VE NEEDED TO BURN "A QUART OF OIL" IN THE GIVEN AMOUNT OF MILES. I ASK THE SERVICE ADVISOR IF IT WAS NORMAL FOR THE VEHICLE TO HAVE BLUEISH COLOR SMOKE COME OUT OF THE TAILPIPE EVERY MORNING. HE STATED NO. THE SERVICE ADVISOR STATED "YOU WOULD NEED TO CHECK MY OIL EVERY 1200 MILES TO ADD OIL". I ASKED HIM IT WAS NORMAL FOR ME TO HAVE TO CHECK AND ADD OIL TO THIS VEHICLE. HE STATED NO. I STATED IF I FOLLOW THE TOYOTA OIL CHANGE GUIDELINE (CHANGING OIL EVERY 5000-7000 MILES) THEN MY VEHICLE WOULD HAVE LOST 1-11/2 QUART OF OIL PRIOR TO THE OIL CHANGE. HE STATED YES. I EXPLAINED TO HIM THAT IT WAS A SAFETY CONCERN FOR MY WIFE THAT DRIVES THE VEHICLE AND NOW SHE RUNS THE REST OF THE MOTOR STOPPING ON HER BECAUSE OF EXCESSIVE OIL USAGE AND THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. HE STATED THERE WAS NOTHING HE CAN DO SO I NEED TO CONTACT TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION.
THE ABS LIGHT AND THE RED BOLD BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN OFF AND THE NEXT DAY THE ABS LIGHT AND THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND THE THE SPEEDOMETER WENT TO ZERO, THE TACHOMETER WENT TO ZERO WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, ALSO THE AIR CONDITIONER WOULD NOT WORK, AFTER A FEW MINUTES THE WARNING LIGHTS WENT OFF AND EVERYTHING WORKED FOR A FEW MINUTES AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. I DRIVE THE CAR IMMEDIATELY TO THE REPAIR SHOP AND THEN CHECKED THE OWNER'S MANUAL AND READ IT'S THE ABS SYSTEM IS MALFUNCTIONING FOR THE CAR.
I HAVE A 2009 TOYOTA CAMRY SE WITH 53,000 MILES ON IT. THERE WAS A NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE DURING DRIVING . UPON INSPECTION I FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS NO COOLANT IN THE RESERVOIR. I ALSO FOUND THAT THERE WAS PINK POWDER RESIDUE ON THE ENGINE NEAR THE SERPENTINE BELT WHERE THE WATER PUMP IS LOCATED . DID SOME RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND OUT MANY OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE CARS BUILT FROM 2007-2009 CAMRYS HAD THE SAME ISSUE UNDER WARRANTY. SOME CARS HAD 10,000 MILES OR LESS WITH THE PROBLEM. ALSO FOUND OUT TOYOTA REPLACED THE WATER PUMPS ON THESE CAMRYS WITH A WATERPUMP BUILT FROM A DIFFERENT COMPANY. I FILLED THE RESERVOIR WITH COOLANT AND TOOK IT TO TOYOTA AND THEY SAID INDEED THE WATER PUMP WAS LEAKING. THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE COSTS UNDER WARRANTY SINCE IT HAD EXPIRED. THERE WOULD BE NO COOLANT LEAKING UNDER THE CAR. DURING MANY OF THE OIL CHANGES THE TOYOTA TECHNICIANS WOULD ADD COOLANT AND TOP IT OFF AND NEVER MENTIONED ANYTHING ABOUT THE WATER PUMP LEAKING . I ONLY FOUND OUT BECAUSE I SAW THE COOLANT RESERVOIR WAS EMPTY AND STARTED LOOKING FOR A LEAK. I BELIEVE TOYOTA KNEW THESE WATER PUMPS WERE DEFECTIVE , AND ONLY CHANGED IT FOR PEOPLE WHO COMPLAINED ABOUT THE PROBLEMS UNDER WARRANTY WITH A DIFFERENT MANUFACTURER OF THE WATER PUMP FREE OF CHARGE . ENGINES WITHOUT COOLANT CAN GET HOT AND CATCH FIRE. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE OF DEFECTIVE WATER PUMPS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2009 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 33 MPH, THE CONTACT WAS DISTRACTED AND DROVE THROUGH A RED LIGHT. THE CONTACT BROADSIDED A VEHICLE. THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO THE INSURANCE LOT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,000. ..UPDATED 10/13/16 *BF.. ..UPDATED 10/28/16 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED HIS WIFE RECEIVED A CONCUSSION AND LACERATIONS FOR WHICH SHE WAS TREATED AT THE EMERGENCY ROOM. MY 2009 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID ECB HAS FAILED WHICH CAUSES BRAKING ISSUES AND IS A SAFETY CONCERN. THERE HAVE BEEN OTHERS REPORTING THIS TO THE NHTSA, BUT NO ACTION TAKEN. PLEASE FORCE A RECALL AS THE WHOLE BRAKING SYSTEM IS AT RISK.
EVERY TIME I TOOK MY CAR TO GET AN OIL CHANGE (EVERY 3000 MILES SOMETIMES EVEN A LITTLE EARLIER), I AM TOLD MY OIL IS LOW OR DIRTY OR BOTH. THIS LAST TIME I TOOK IT I WAS TOLD I WAS LOW TWO QUARTS OF OIL AND I DIDN'T EVEN HIT 3,000 MILES YET. I WAS TOLD NEXT TIME IF IT WAS LOW I MIGHT HAVE TO DO A COMPLETE ENGINE FLUSH. I DECIDED TO GET A FEW MORE OPINIONS BEFORE GOING FORWARD WITH ANY WORK. I WAS TOLD BY A MAN AT A TOYOTA DEALERSHIP IN TORRANCE, THAT IT SOUNDED SIMILAR TO AN ISSUE ANOTHER PERSON HE KNOWS HAD WHICH ENDED UP BEING A RECALL FOR THAT PERSONS CAR. I WAS ADVISED TO CALL THE DEALERSHIP I GOT MY CAR FROM AND CHECK WITH THEM FOR A RECALL. I CALLED AND RECEIVED NEWS THAT THERE WAS A "WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT" FOR EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. I TOOK IT IN TO GET THE FIRST STEP OF THE TEST DONE WHICH CONSISTED OF MAKING SURE THERE WASN'T AN OIL LEAK AND SINCE THERE WASN'T THEY TOPPED OFF MY OIL THEN APPLIED MARKERS TO MY DIP STICK AND OTHER PLACES SO THEY CAN MEASURE HOW MUCH MY OIL WENT DOWN AFTER ONLY 1200 MILES. WHEN I RETURNED AFTER THE 1200 MILES THEY CHECKED THE LEVELS AGAIN AND SAW OBVIOUSLY MY ENGINE BURNED A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF OIL SINCE THEY LAST CHECKED IT. THEY ADDED A QUART OF OIL BACK INTO MY CAR WHEN I RETURNED AND SINCE IT WAS LITTLE ABOVE FULL AFTER THEY ADDED THE QUART, THEY SAID MY CAR PASSED THE TEST AND THAT ALTHOUGH MY CAR BURNED OIL IT WASN'T ENOUGH FOR THEM TO DO ANY WORK TO MY CAR. BASICALLY TELLING ME THAT ITS $5,000 TO FIX AND THAT IT WAS NORMAL IN TOYOTAS TO CONSUME EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF OIL. I BOUGHT MY CAR CERTIFIED USED FROM THE CERRITOS AUTO SQUARE AUTONATION LOT. I COULDN'T BELIEVE THAT THEY TURNED ME AWAY WITHOUT EVEN SUGGESTING OTHER WAYS FOR ME TO GET BETTER OIL CONSUMPTION OR ANY OTHER HELP FOR THAT MATTER. I WAS TOLD I CAN DO THE TEST ONE MORE TIME AND THEY TOLD ME TO GO TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP WHICH I ALSO FOUND STRANGE.
MY PASSENGER SIDE VISOR JUST BROKE ABOUT A MONTH AGO. IT'S A 2009, BUT PURCHASED IN 2008. FINALLY GOT MY DASHBOARD REPLACED LAST WEEK ALF ASKED ABOUT THE VISOR. TOYOTA SAYS THEY WON'T FIX IT SINCE ITS PASSED THE WARRANTY TIME. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY NOT SINCE IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE, AND DANGEROUS TO DRIVE WITH IT DOWN ALL THE TIME. I'VE LOVED MY CAMRY, BUT TO SPEND OVER $100 TO FIX THE VISOR IS STEEP.
I TRULY LOVED MY HYBRID CAMRY UNTIL JUNE OF 2015 WHEN MY OIL LIGHT CAME ON AND MY OIL WAS LOW SHORTLY AFTER HAVING MY OIL CHANGED. I CONTACTED MY MECHANIC AND HE RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM AND FOUND A BULLETIN REGARDING PROBLEMS WITH OIL CONSUMPTION. I BEGAN TO HAVE TO CHECK MY OIL ONCE A WEEK AND HAD TO ADD 1-2 QUARTS PER WEEK. IN LATE 2015, TOYOTA SENT OUT A NOTICE REGARDING THE OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM AND OFFERED OIL CONSUMPTION TESTING. I HAD MY CAR TESTED AND OF COURSE, MY CAR WAS CONSUMING OIL. I WAS NOTIFIED ON 1-13-16 THAT MY CAR WAS CONSUMING OIL AND THAT I WOULD BE PUT ON A WAITING LIST FOR REPAIRS. I CONTINUED TO CHECK AND ADD OIL TO MY CAR. I HAVE NOW BEEN TOLD THAT PARTS ARE PROJECTED TO BE AVAILABLE IN SEPT. 2016. IN MID AUGUST, MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I HAD TO GET MY CAR TO THE CLOSEST MECHANIC AS IT WAS RUNNING POORLY. I HAD TO PULL OVER ON A BUSY HIGHWAY. THE CODES SHOWED THE ENGINE WAS MISFIRING AND THERE PROBLEMS WITH CATALYTIC CONVERTOR. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THESE PROBLEMS WERE DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION AND THAT THE CAR IS NOT OPERATIONAL AND SUGGESTED WE CONTACT TOYOTA. MY HUSBAND CONTACTED CORPORATE TOYOTA AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN REPLACING THE PISTONS AND RINGS. BOTH MY HUSBAND AND I COMMUTE TO WORK, I AM NOW WITHOUT MY VEHICLE (WHICH I AM STILL MAKING PAYMENTS TO TOYOTA), STILL WAITING ON PARTS FOR REPAIR (TOYOTA TELLS ME TO BE PATIENT, REALLY???), FACING CHARGES TO TOW MY CAR APPROX. 40 MILES TO THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR ONCE PARTS AVAILABLE, AND PAYING APPROX. $1000 TO REPLACE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTORS BEFORE MY CAR WILL BE OPERATIONAL. I AM COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED WITH TOYOTA FOR TAKING NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THESE RELATED ISSUES AND THE AMOUNT OF TIME IT HAS TAKEN TO ADDRESS AND SOLVE THESE PROBLEMS (STILL WAITING). WILL NOT PURCHASE ANOTHER TOYOTA VEHICLE.
MY DASHBOARD PANEL IS MELTING IN MY CAR. THE DASHBOARD IS COMPLETELY STICKY AND EVERYTHING THAT FALLS ON IT GETS STUCK AND I CANNOT GET IT OFF THE DASHBOARD. I TRY TO CLEAN MY CAR AND CANNOT DO ANYTHING TO THE DASH. I TRY TO WIPE IT DOWN WITH WATER AND A TOWEL, BUT IT JUST PULLS THE LINT OFF A MICROFIBER TOWEL AND IT GETS STUCK. IT IS REALLY IRRITATING AND I HOPE TOYOTA FIXES MY PROBLEM AND TAKES RESPONSIBILITY FOR ITS DEFECTS. MY ENTIRE FAMILY DRIVES TOYOTA'S AND IF THEY DO NOT FIX THIS ISSUE, WE WILL NO LONGER HAVE ANY TIES WITH TOYOTA.
I HAVE BEEN NOTICING THAT MY CAR HAS BEEN BURNING EXCESSIVE OIL FOR OVER A YEAR. WHEN I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR IN FOR THE REGULARLY SCHEDULED OIL CHANGES THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT (NOT TOYOTA) HAS NOT FOUND A PROBLEM. RECENTLY A FRIEND FOUND OUT ON LINE THAT THERE IS A TOYOTA WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT FOR THIS ISSUE GOOD FOR 10 YEARS/150,000 MILES. I CALLED A LOCAL TOYOTA SERVICE DEPARTMENT BUT I AM OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT BECAUSE I AM OVER THE 150,000 MILES BUT I AM WITHIN THE YEARS. MY CAR IS 8 YEARS OLD WITH 154,000 MILES. I TOLD THEM THAT I HAVE BEEN HAVING THIS ISSUE FOR A YEAR AND MY CAR HAD ABOUT 137,000 MILES AT THE TIME I NOTICED IT WAS AN ISSUE. THE SUGGESTED I CALLED THE TOYOTA MOTOR COMPANY, I CALLED THEM ON 6/15/2017 BUT I DID NOT GET ANY SATISFACTION. THEY WILL NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT SINCE I AM OVER THE MILES. THEY SAY THIS IS A WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT AND NOT A RECALL. IT SHOULD BE A RECALL. THE WOMAN I SPOKE TO MADE A COMMENT THAT I DO NOT TAKE MY VEHICLE TO BE SERVICED AT THE DEALERSHIP. TODAY I LOOKED AT MY RECORDS. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO TOYOTA TO BE SERVICE, RECALL ISSUES AND ANOTHER WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT THAT I WAS NOT NOTIFIED ABOUT. I TOLD THEM TODAY 7/12/2017 THAT I HAVE TAKEN IT TO TOYOTA SERVICE DEPARTMENT NUMEROUS TIMES BUT I WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE EXCESSIVE OIL BURNING ISSUE. SHE SAID THAT I WOULD NEED TO TELL THEM I WAS HAVING A PROBLEM FIRST. SHE ALLEGED THAT I WAS SENT A LETTER BUT I NEVER RECEIVED A LETTER. I SHOULD HAVE ASKED HER WHY I WAS SENT A LETTER BUT WHEN I HAVE ASKED TOYOTA IF THERE WERE ANY RECALLS THEY DID NOT TELL ME ABOUT THE EXCESSIVE OIL BURNING ISSUE. I AM PUTTING A QUART OF OIL IN MY CAR PER WEEK (500 MILES). THIS IS VERY EXPENSIVE. I AM WAITING TO HERE BACK FROM A SUPERVISOR. THERE IS A PROBLEM BUT TOYOTA IS BEING SNEAKING AND DISHONEST ABOUT THE ISSUE.
THE CAR IS USING EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF OIL. 4-6 QUARTS BETWEEN 3000 MILE OIL CHANGES! THE PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN INCREASINGLY WORSE SINCE NOTICING AN INCREASE IN CONSUMPTION STARTING AROUND 2016. ONLY AFTER SEARCHING THE INTERNET FOR A FIX WAS I MADE AWARE THAT THIS PROBLEM IS WELL KNOWN BY TOYOTA. I NEVER RECEIVED ANY BULLETINS OR RECALLS FROM TOYOTA AS THEY HAVE CLAIMED. I HOPE THEY WILL PROVIDE SOME TYPE OF HELP IN REPAIRING THIS ISSUE AS IT IS VERY COSTLY TO MAINTAIN, MUCH LESS REPAIR. VERY DISAPPOINTING FROM A SEEMINGLY RELIABLE MANUFACTURER THAT CLAIMS TO BUILD DEPENDABLE VEHICLES.
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION STARTED IN 2016 & IT IS GETTING WORSE. ADDING A BOTTLE OF ENGINE OIL TWICE A MONTH. MY CAR ONLY HAS 103K MILES AND IS 2009. I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW & IS IN GREAT CONDITION. THE DEALERSHIP WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS ISSUE.

I AM HAVING AN ISSUE WITH THE DASHBOARD MELTING. THE SURFACE OF THE DASHBOARD HAS BECOME SHINY AND CREATES A GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD.
REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER HAS BIG AIR BUBBLES COMPROMISING VISIBILITY. ALSO THE I HAD REPLACED THE PASSENGER SIDE VISOR 3 TIMES FOR BEING BROKEN WHEN PULLED DOWN FOR USE.
MY TOYOTA CAMRY IS BURNING UP OIL.
TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A SIMPLE OIL/FILTER CHANGE ON JULY 7, 2016. I WAS TOLD THE WATER PUMP HAD LEAK AND REQUIRING THE PUMP TO BE REPLACED. I WAS QUOTED TO PAY ABOUT $530 TO GET A NEW WATER PUMP REPLACEMENT. I DID LOOK UP THE SIMILAR PROBLEM RELATED TO 2009 CAMRY. MY VEHICLE HAS JUST OVER 50,000 MILES MOSTLY HIGHWAY DRIVEN MILEAGE. THERE HAVE BEEN MORE CASES REPORTED AND SUPPOSEDLY TO BE A RECALL ISSUED FOR NEW YORK STATE RESIDENTS WITH SIMILAR COMPLAINTS/PROBLEMS. I DON'T KNOW WHETHER THE LOCAL MARIETTA DEALERSHIP IN GEORGIA RIPPING ME OFF OR NOT. I DID NOT ASK FOR THE OLD WATER PUMP TO BE RETURNED TO ME AFTER THE WORK WAS DONE. I DID NOT SEE THE LEAK AT ALL IN MY GARAGE. I WOULD APPRECIATE IT VERY MUCH IF THERE WAS UNANNOUNCED RECALL FROM TOYOTA, I WOULD BE ELIGIBLE FOR MY WATER PUMP REPLACEMENT BILL.
The vehicle dashobard is melting and cracking, this is a known Toyota issue on this model. It creates a very shiny reflection during high sun times, and at night. It is extremley dangerous, and Toyota said they knew about it and did an extended warranty. but as they did not view it as a safety issue they did not notify any of the toytoa owners. This is aabsolutley a safety issue.

I STARTED TO BACK OUT OF THE PARKING SPOT AT THE HOTEL I WAS STAYING TO GO OUT FOR DINNER WITH MY FRIENDS, I RELEASE THE BRAKES AND PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE. THEN ALL OF SUDDEN THE DASH BOARD LIGHTED UP THEN DISAPPEARED BRIEFLY WHEN I PUT IT IN FORWARD. AS I WAS DRIVING AWAY FROM THE HOTEL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH BOARD WAS LIGHTED AGAIN. THEN AS I PROCEED TO GET ON THE FREEWAY THE DASHBOARD LIT UP WITH WARNING CHECK VSC SYSTEM. (THE HOTEL TO THE FREEWAY RAMP WAS A BLOCK AWAY) I WAS DRIVING IN THE RIGHT HAND LANE FOR SEVERAL MILES ON THE 580, BECAUSE I NOTICED THE BRAKES FELT WEIRD. THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH BOARD REMAINED LIGHTED. THE RED INDICATOR LIGHT FOR MY BRAKES WERE ON INDICATING THE BRAKES WERE NOT RELEASED, BUT IT WAS. AT THIS POINT I WAS TENSED AND SCARED AS I DROVE ON THE 580 FREEWAY. I EXITED OFF THE FREEWAY SLOWER THAN NORMAL AND I WOULD PRESS DOWN ON THE BRAKES LIGHTLY AND IT WOULD JERK AND ROCK. IT WOULD BOUNCE MYSELF AND FRIENDS IN A ROCKING MOTION. WE WERE ALL SCARED WHEN I TOLD THEM THAT I WAS NOT PRESSING ON THE BRAKES AS IT ROCKED. I WAS NOT PLAYING WITH THE BRAKES. MY FRIEND SITTING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE, CONFIRMED TO MY FRIEND SITTING IN THE BACK I WAS NOT DOING ANYTHING WITH THE BRAKES AS WE ROCKED WHILE DRIVING OR AT THE STOP SIGNS. I WAS DRIVING CAUTIOUSLY ON THE STREETS DUE TO I WAS AFRAID I MIGHT REAR END SOMEONE. EVERY TIME I MADE THE STOP IT WOULD ROCK. SO FROM THE RESTAURANT TO THE HOTEL I DROVE THE STREETS AND STAYED OFF THE FREEWAY. THE "CHECK VSC "AND INDICATORS LIGHTS REMAINED ON THE WHOLE TIME. THE FOLLOWING DAY, MY HUSBAND DROVE OUT TO GET THE CAR AND DROVE IT HOME FOR ME. WE TOOK THE BACK ROADS HOME TO AVOID FREEWAY DRIVING. AS I DROVE BEHIND HIM, I NOTICE THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAYED ON MOST OF THE TIME. HE TOO NOTICED THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH BOARD REMAINED ON AND THE BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING CORRECTLY.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SKID CONTROL COMPUTER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE OF THE FAILURE, AND A CASE WAS OPENED AND SENT TO THE MANUFACTURER'S LEGAL DIVISION. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 132,138.

WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS THE SPEEDOMETER GOES TO 0 EVEN THOUGH THE CAR IS STILL PERFORMING AND ACCELERATING. THE ABS LIGHT COMES ON AND THE DEALER SAID THAT THE ABS ACTUATOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. IT SEEMS LIKE THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE ESPECIALLY WITH THE HYBRID MODEL AND SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPAIRED BY TOYOTA
OIL CONSUMPTION TERRIBLE PAY MORE FOR OIL THAN GAS NOW SHOULD BE RECALLED. TOYOTA CHECKED IT AT 147,000 MILES SAID 1 QT EVERY 1000 OK I CHECKED BEFORE TAKING IN OVER 1 QT THEY LIED THIS IS BULL SHOULD OF BEEN FIXED AND WENT OVER 150,000 WON,T CHECK IT ANT MORE CRAZY

STICKY DASHBOARD. NOTICED 2 MONTHS AGO THAT THE WHOLE DASHBOARD IS STICKY/GUMMY. I HAVE DEPOSIT ON THE INSIDE SURFACE OF THE WINDSHIELD THAT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO REMOVE. COULD THE TWO BE CONNECTED.

EXCESSIVE ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION. ONLY 1 LITER OF ENGINE OIL CAME OUT DURING MY LAST ENGINE OIL CHANGE AT 65,000 MILES EVEN AFTER I PUT IN A LITER AT 64,500 MILES BECAUSE THE RED LOW ENGINE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON AND I CHECKED THE DIPSTICK TO SEE THAT ALMOST NO ENGINE OIL WAS IN MY CAR. I'M CURRENTLY AT 67,000 MILES AND THE RED LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN, SO I ADDED ONE MORE LITER OF ENGINE OIL AFTER CHECKING THE DIPSTICK AND PRACTICALLY NOTHING REGISTERED. I NEED TO GET IT FIXED, BUT THE TOYOTA DEALER SAYS NOTHING IS WRONG WITH MY CAR/VIN, SO I CAN'T GET THE NECESSARY PARTS EVEN IF THEY HAVE THEM IN STOCK. I CALLED THE 1-888-270-9371 TOYOTA CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER AND THE REPRESENTATIVE SAID THERE'S NOTHING SHE COULD DO. WOULD LIKE TO FIX THE PROBLEM BEFORE MY ENGINE BLOWS UP.

I PURCHASED MY 2009 TOYOTA CAMRY 2.4L WHILE STATIONED IN GERMANY, IT WAS MANUFACTURED TO US SPECIFICATIONS AND I BROUGHT IT STATESIDE WITH ME. I RAN MY VIN IN THE TOYOTA DATABASE TO FIND OUT IF THE AIR BAG OR "STICKY" DASH BOARD RECALLS APPLIED TO MY VEHICLE. MY VIN DID NOT REGISTER IN THE TOYOTA DATABASE. I CALLED TOYOTA AND THEY RAN MY VIN, THEY EXPLAINED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT VISIBLE IN THEIR DATABASE. THE WENT ON TO EXPLAIN, I WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT TOYOTA IN JAPAN OR GERMANY FOR RECALL INFORMATION AND THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO REPAIR ANY RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE IN THE US. DOES TOYOTA NOT HAVE AN OBLIGATION TO ENSURE MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED PROPERLY AND WITH QUALITY MATERIALS TO ENSURE ITS SAFE OPERATION?

EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. BURNS 1 QUART WITHIN 1,500 OF MILLAGE USE. MY CURRENT CAR MILLAGE IS APPROXIMATELY 88,000 MILES. THIS PROBLEM IS SHOWN THROUGH LARGE PUFFS OF BLACK SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST, UPON IGNITION. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY NOT A "NORMAL" SITUATION. THIS ISSUE MAY LEAD TO A HIGHER AMOUNT OIL PURCHASES AND SERIOUS ENGINE DAMAGE; IT IS VERY COSTLY.
OUR DRIVER SIDE VISOR BECOMES EXTREMELY FLOPPY LATELY. WE DIDN'T KNOW THERE WAS A RECALL ON MODELS SIMILAR TO OUR 2009 TOYOTA CAMRY. IT'S BARELY OUT OF WARRANTY NOW AND IT'S A BIG SAFETY CONCERN. WE HAVE OWNED MANY CARS, AND NOT ONE HAS A VISOR ISSUE, PLEASE HELP!!!
