"TAKATA RECALL" THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE. THIS SOLELY INVOLVES THE NATURE OF THE RECALL. THE 16V340000 RECALL DOES NOT PROVIDE FOR RECALL OF 2011 COROLLAS THAT WERE SOLD AND REGISTERED IN ZONE C. YET MANY OWNERS LIVE IN THE ZONE A AREA FOR PART OF THE YEAR TYPICALLY FOR 4,5, OR 6 MONTHS OR MORE. IF THEY DID NOT CHANGE THE REGISTRATION TO FLORIDA FOR EXAMPLE THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT BE RECALLED YET WOULD HAVE BEEN SUBJECT TO ZONE A CONDITIONS FOR PART OF THE YEAR. IN MY CASE IT HAS BEEN SIX MONTHS FOR THE LAST FOUR YEARS AND FOUR MONTHS FOR ONE YEAR. I CANNOT FIND OUT IF MY VEHICLE HAS A TAKATA AIRBAG AND, IF IT DOES IS IT ONE WITH THE DEFECTIVE INFLATOR.
TAKATA RECALL VEHICLE HAS BEEN SITTING AT DEALERSHIP AWAITING FIX FOR OVER 2 MONTHS, AND HAS HAD AN OPEN RECALL FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS. OWNER HAS HAD MULTIPLE CONVERSATIONS WITH DEALERSHIP, AND THERE IS NO GUARANTEED TIME-FRAME FOR REPAIRS. OWNER IS STILL PAYING MONTHLY PAYMENTS AND INSURANCE ON VEHICLE, EVEN THOUGH SHE IS NOT CURRENTLY IN POSSESSION, NOR ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE SAFELY. OWNER HAS ALSO BEEN NOTIFIED THAT SHE IS NOT ABLE TO RESELL THE VEHICLE IN IT'S CURRENT "DEFECTIVE" STATE, THUS DECREASING THE VALUE OF THE CAR OVER 2 YEARS.

ACCORDING TO TAKATA, THE PROPELLANT IN THESE INFLATORS MAY DEGRADE AFTER PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO HIGH ABSOLUTE HUMIDITY AND FLUCTUATING HIGH TEMPERATURES. DEGRADED PROPELLANT CAN CAUSE INFLATOR RUPTURE DURING AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. SAFETY RISK IN THE EVENT OF AN INFLATOR RUPTURE, METAL FRAGMENTS COULD PASS THROUGH THE AIRBAG CUSHION MATERIAL, STRIKING THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS, AND RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. REMEDY THE REMEDY WILL CONSIST OF THE REPLACEMENT OF THE AIRBAG INFLATOR OR THE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY, DEPENDING ON THE VEHICLE MODEL. "TAKATA RECALL" I HAVE RECEIVED, BY MAIL ( USPS) THAT MY TOYOTA IS SUBJECT TO A RECALL FOR FRONT AIRBAG INFLATORS, AND FILING A COMPLAINT IS NECESSARY TO TO REACH A SETTLEMENT.
TAKATA RECALL MY CAR IS THE TOYOTA COROLLA 2011 AND HAS BEEN AFFECTED BY THE RECALL OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. IT IS HIGHLY SUSCEPTIBLE TO MOISTURE HUMIDITY IN FLUCTUATING TEMPERATURES ESPECIALLY HIGH TEMPERATURES. WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THIS CAR I WAS LIVING IN DANA POINT CALIFORNIA WHICH IS RIGHT ON THE OCEAN LITERALLY I COULD SEE THE OCEAN FROM MY HOUSE AND IT HAS LOTS OF MOISTURE FLUCTUATING HIGH TEMPERATURES AND HUMIDITY. I AM NOW LIVING IN BELLEVUE WASHINGTON WHICH ALSO HAS FLUCTUATING HIGH TEMPERATURES LOTS OF MOISTURE AND THIS IS WHAT IS SUSCEPTIBLE TO THIS AIRBAG DEFECT. I AM A SINGLE MOM AND WORRIED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY CHILD OF MY NINE-YEAR-OLD SON DRIVING HIM AROUND IN MY CAR. I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS DEFECT AND HAVE HAD PEOPLE IN THE FRONT SEAT MANY TIMES RISKING THEIR OWN LIFE AND THEIR SAFETY NUMEROUS TIMES. I HAVE EVEN BEEN IN THE PASSENGER SEAT MANY TIMES IN MY CAR RISKING MY OWN LIFE NOT EVEN KNOWING IT. I AM UNEMPLOYED AND WANTED TO WORK FOR UBER OR LYFT AND WAS UNABLE TO DO TO MY CAR SAFETY REGULATIONS AND HAVE LOST SO MUCH TIME AND MONEY DUE TO MY CAR'S SAFETY. NO SOLUTION HAS COME UP UNTIL NOW ALL THESE YEARS AND TIME I HAVE LOST SO MUCH MONEY BY NOT BEING ABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR AND I ALSO WANTED TO BECOME A NANNY BUT WAS UNABLE TO DO TO MY CARS DEFECTS. I HAVE NO MONEY TO BUY ANOTHER CAR AND STRUGGLE TO PAY MY RENT AND PROVIDE FOR MY SON HAVING NO JOB AND NOT EVEN BEING ABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR BARELY AT ALL. LUCKILY NOTHING SERIOUS HAS HAPPENED BECAUSE I HAVE TO DRIVE MY CAR SCARED EVERYTIME I GET BEHIND THE WHEEL DOES SOMEBODY MIGHT RUN INTO ME AND I COULD INJURE MYSELF FOR MY SON. WHEN I PUT EVERY DOLLAR INTO BUYING MY CAR I HAD NO IDEA THAT I WOULD BE PUTTING MYSELF IN MY SON AT RISK EVERY DAY FOR DEATH. I WOULD LIKE TO BE COMPENSATED OVER THE PAST FOUR YEARS FOR ALL OF THE MONEY AND WAGES THAT I HAVE LOST.
TAKATA RECALL; NOT BEING ADDRESSED IN TIMELY FASHION. CHECKED WEBSITE, COROLLA 2011 HAS TAKATA AIRBAGS BUT RECALL HASN'T STARTED YET.
ON FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS (WHILE CAR WAS IN MOTION AND IN PARK) MY FRONT PASSENGER SEAT ALARM WAS ALERTING ME TO BUCKLE UP BUT I AM ALWAYS THE ONLY ONE IN THE CAR/NO ONE IS RIDING IN FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. ON THAT SAME SIDE (FRONT/RIGHT) AN AIR BAG PANEL KEEPS POPPING OUT/WILL NOT STAY IN PLACE AND I AM VERY AFRAID THERE IS A RECALL ON MY CAR AND NO ONE IS AWARE OF IT. WOULD LIKE TO FIGURE OUT HOW SERIOUS THIS IS. INCLUDING A PICTURE AS WELL....PLEASE AND THANKS!
TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR TOYOTA TO REPLACE MY AIRBAG FOR OVER TWO YEARS BUT I DO NOT SEE ANY ACTION FROM TOYOTA. I DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT DUE TO THE FEAR OF SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH IF THE SITUATION ARISE TO THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAG. THIS IS SO BAD AND HOPE SOMETHING CAN BE DONE TO GET THIS CORRECTED.

TAKATA INFLATORS: I RECEIVED A NOTICE OF POSSIBLE METAL FRAGMENTS COMING THROUGH THE AIRBAG ONCE IT DEPLOYS OVER A YEAR AGO AND THERE IS YET TO BE A REMEDY TO REPLACE THE AIRBAGS. THIS IS PUTTING MYSELF AND MY CHILDREN IN DANGER IF ANY CRASH WAS TO OCCUR AND THIS IS OUR PRIMARY VEHICLE. IT SHOULD NOT TAKE THIS LONG TO PROVIDE A REMEDY FOR REPLACEMENT AND EVEN LOCAL DEALERSHIPS ARE NOT EDUCATED ON THE RECALL.

TAKATA RECALL, I HAVE RECIEVED TWO DIFFERENT PIECES OF MAIL ABOUT TH AIR BAGS. I DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY ABOUT 60 MILES ROUND TRIP FOR WORK. I FEEL AS IF THE AIR BAGS BEING DEPLOYED AND A POSSIBILITY OF METAL COMING OUT IS A BIG DEAL FOR ME. I LIVE IN FLORIDA WHERE IT IS VERY HUMID AND CONSTANT HIGH TEMPERATURES. I THINK THE AIRBAGS SHOULD BE REPLACED ACCORDINGLY CONSIDER THE RISK OF SERIOUS INJURY.

THE CAR DISPLAYS HAZARD LIGHTS FOR THE ENGINE AND SAFE ROAD HANDLING AS THOUGH THE ROADS ARE ICY OR SLIPPERY DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS IN DRY WEATHER. THE LIGHTS ARE ON FOR WEEKS PRIOR TO SHUTTING-OFF. TOYOTA FAILED TO FIX THE RECALL ON THE AIRBAGS. THE NEVER NOTIFIED OF WHAT COULD BE A LIFE RISKING HAZARD.

TAKATA RECALL - IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT TOYOTA / TAKATA HAS YET TO OFFER A FIX FOR THIS LIFE THREATENING ISSUE! THE COROLLA IS NOT A LARGE VEHICLE TO BEGIN WITH AND NOT ONLY IS MY FAMILY PROHIBITED FROM USING THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, THERE IS NO PART OF THE VEHICLE THAT IS SAFE IF SHRAPNEL IS EJECTED FROM THE AIRBAG. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT WHAT I PAID FOR!!!

I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY DIRECT (MAIL) CORRESPONDENCE UNTIL DECEMBER 2016, IN WHICH THE LETTER SAID TO WAIT UNTIL A REMEDY BECOMES AVAILABLE. SINCE THEN, IT HAS BEEN A SIGNIFICANT INCONVENIENCE TO AVOID HAVING PASSENGERS RIDE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT.

I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON A CITY STREET WHEN A VEHICLE CHANGED LANES WITHOUT WARNING INTO MY LANE. MY FIRST REACTION WAS TO HONK AS I SWERVED TO AVOID BEING HIT. THE HORN DID NOT WORK, THANK GOD MY THERE WAS ENOUGH ROOM FOR ME TO MOVE TO AVOID BEING HIT. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR IN FOR THE AIR BAG RECALL TO THE DEALERSHIP TO BE FIXED. I'M WONDERING IF SOMETHING COULD HAVE HAPPENED TO THE SPIRAL CABLE THEN OR IF IT IS JUST A FAULTY EQUIPMENT. WENT I GOT HOME I KEPT TRYING TO MAKE MY CAR HONK AND I NOTICED WHEN I TURN MY STEERING WHEEL A CERTAIN WAY IT HONKED. I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE AND ASKED ABOUT THE HORN AND WAS TOLD THERE WOULD BE A $200 FEE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND THAT MONEY WOULD GO TOWARDS THE COST OF GETTING IT FIXED. I ASKED WHAT THE MAXIMUM COST WOULD BE HE SAID $400. SO THEY DIAGNOSED MY VEHICLE AND SAID THE PART IS $600 AND I HAD 2 WEEKS TO DECIDE. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY ANYMORE MONEY TO HAVE THIS FIXED. I HAVE TALKED TO MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I BELIEVE TOYOTA SHOULD CORRECT THIS SAFETY ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED! A HORN CAN MAKE A LIFE OR DEATH DIFFERENCE.
