TAKATA RECALL, MY COMPLAINT HAS TO DO WITH HOW TOYOTA MANUFACUATER HAS NOT IN A TIMELY MANNER BEEN ABLE TO REPLACE THE AIRBAGS IN MY TOYOTA COROLLA. THE RECALL WAS WAS FIRST ANNOUNCED ON 23 MAY 2016, IT HAS BEEN ALMOST A YEAR AND I LIVE IN A HUMID CLIMATE WHERE THE VEHICLE IS LIKELY PUTTING ME AT A GREATER RISK OF FATALITY THAN NORMAL.

"TAKATA RECALL" THE DEALER OR TOYOTA HAS FAILED AND IS UNABLE TO REMEDY THE DEFECT WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME. THE FIRST NOTIFICATION WAS RECEIVED ON 2016 AND NO FURTHER INFORMATION HAS BEEN RECEIVED SINCE THAT TIME. THE WAITING PERIOD TO FIX THE PROBLEM ACCORDING TO THE LETTER IS MORE THAN A YEAR. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN THAT SHOULD BE PRIORITIZED AND I AM DEALING WITH THE CONSEQUENCES OF THIS ISSUE. THANKS!!
TAKATA RECALL: RECALL FOR TAKATA AIRBAG IN MY CAR WAS IN MAY 2016 - IT IS NOW APRIL 21, 2017 - AND THERE IS STILL NO "SOLUTION" IT IS REALLY SCARY DRIVING AROUND KNOWING THAT THERE IS A BOMB IN MY GLOVEBOX, THAT WILL EXPLODE AND POSSIBLY KILL ME. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY CAN'T JUST TAKE OUT THE AIRBAG UNTIL THERE IS A BETTER SOLUTION.
TAKATA AIR BAG RECALL. I THINK IT IS IMPORTANT TO FIX THESE AIR BAGS BECAUSE MY SON DRIVES THIS CAR. NOT SURE WHY THERE IS HESITATION TO MAKE THESE REPAIRS. THERE HAS NOT BEEN AN ACCIDENT BUT DON'T WANT TO WRITE A COMPLAINT AFTER ONE DOES.

TAKATA INFLATOR. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR MY FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR IN MAY 2016. IT IS NOW MARCH 2017 AND A REPAIR IS NOT YET AVAILABLE. ACCORDING TO THE TOYOTA SAFETY WEBSITE, THE ANTICIPATED REMEDY DATE IS SEPTEMBER 2017. THIS DELAY OF WELL OVER A YEAR IS VERY FRUSTRATING, AS I WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO OPERATE MY CAR SAFELY AND USE THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT.

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BACK AND KNEE INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE BODY DAMAGE WAS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V340000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. TAKATA RECALL - I WAS NOTIFIED FEB. 2017 FOR THE 1ST TIME OF MY 2011 TOYOTA COROLLA BEING SUBJECT TO THE AIRBAG RECALL. TONIGHT I FOUND OUT THE RECALL BEGAN IN MAY 2016, ALMOST 1 YEAR AGO! I STILL HAVE NO FURTHER INFORMATION FROM TOYOTA ON A REPLACEMENT, AND IN THE MEANTIME, MY TEENAGERS HAVE CONTINUED TO RIDE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BECAUSE WE HAVE NO OTHER OPTION. I FIND THIS COMPLETELY UNSATISFACTORY ON TOYOTA'S PART AND WANT ANSWERS AND REMEDIES FROM TOYOTA BEFORE SOMEONE RIDING IN MY CAR IS INJURED OR KILLED BY THIS LONG-TERM PROBLEM!

FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR (ZONE A) THE PROPELLANT IN THESE INFLATORS MAY DEGRADE AFTER PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO HIGH HUMIDITY AND FLUCTUATING HIGH TEMPERATURES. SINCE I LIVE IN FLORIDA I'M VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE PROBLEM. TOYOTA SHOULD HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM BY NOW, 10 MONTHS IS WAY BEYOND A REASONABLE TIME LIMIT.

TAKATA RECALL, NHTSA RECALL NO.16V-340. WE WERE INFORMED IN FEBRUARY 2017 OF THIS NEEDED SAFETY RECALL BUT HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET THE SERVICE DONE. ALL LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIPS WE HAVE CONTACTED REPEATEDLY SINCE THEN CLAIM THEY DO NOT HAVE THESE RECALL REPLACEMENT PARTS AVAILABLE YET AND THEY DONT THINK THEY WILL HAVE THEM UNTIL NOVEMBER 2017. WE WERE ALSO RECENTLY CONTACTED ABOUT TAKATA CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT THAT WE CAN NOT EVEN BE PART OF BECAUSE WE HAVENT HAD THE RECALL SERVICE DONE WHICH IS REQUIRED! WE WERE TOLD IF THE AIRBAGS MALFUNCTION IT CAN BE DEADLY AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT SINCE THE NOTICE WAS SENT IN FEBRUARY 2017. THIS IS A HUGE INCONVENIENCE FOR OUR FAMILY! WHEN WILL SOMETHING BE DONE ABOUT THIS DELAY?!? THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED IMMEDIATELY!

THE FIRST THING I NOTICED WAS AT LEAST TWO WEEKS AGO WHEN I COULDN'T ADJUST THE RADIO VOLUME WHILE DRIVING, THOUGHT MAYBE THERE WAS A SAFETY FEATURE THAT WOULDN'T ALLOW YOU TO DO SO IF DRIVING. TODAY WE HOPPED IN THE CAR TO DO A QUICK ERRAND AND NOTICED THE RADIO HAD NO DISPLAY ON IT. WHILE FRIEND WAS IN THE STORE TRIED TURNING THE RADIO OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN, THEN TRIED TURNING THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN FINALLY TRIED PUSHING EVERY BUTTON THAT WAS RELATED TO THE RADIO. THE FIRST BUTTON WOULD TURN THE RADIO OFF THE NEXT WOULD TURN IT BACK ON AND SO ON AND SO FORTH AND THAT IS ALL THEY WOULD DO. CAME HOME AND RESEARCHED THIS TO BE A CHRONIC PROBLEM WITH LATE MODEL COROLLAS. THE FRIGHTENING THING ISN'T THAT IT ISN'T FIXABLE BUT RATHER THAT IT RECURS WITHIN ABOUT 2 YEARS TIME FROM THE FIRST TIME AND MINE IS 6 YEARS OLD AND I HAVE HAD IT 1 MONTH. IT ALSO SOUNDS LIKE MORE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS SEEM TO GET INVOLVED THE OLDER THE CAR IS. I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN AFFORD TO BUY ANOTHER USED CAR SO SOON ON WHAT I MAKE. I HOPE SOMEONE LOOKS INTO THIS SO THESE CARS AREN'T FLOODING THE RESALE MARKET. THE VEHICLE WAS BOTH STATIONARY AND MOVING AND IT WAS AT NIGHT SO THE LIGHTS WERE ON. WHEN CALLING TOYOTA THEY TELL ME THE BEST COURSE OF ACTION IS TO NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE PROBLEM WITH THAT IS WITHOUT A CAR I CAN NOT WORK AND PROVIDE FOR MY FAMILY. I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THEY SAY THERE'S NO A REMEDY AND JUST STAND BYE WITHOUT A CAR UNTIL WE MAKE A DECISION. NO ACCIDENTS SO FAR, I AM FILING A COMPLAINT BECAUSE I NEED THE AIRBAG REPLACED. THIS IS A VEHICLE THAT MY HUSBAND AND I DRIVE DAILY, WITH OUR TWO SMALL CHILDREN.

THE AIRBAG IS CONSIDERED DEADLY IN THE DESCRIPTION OF THE RECALL, AND IT HAS BEEN ALMOST A MONTH SINCE I HAVE RECEIVED THIS RECALL, AND NO ACTION FROM TOYOTA. IT IS UNREASONABLE TO THINK THAT SOMEONE CAN GO WITHOUT USING THE PASSENGER SEAT FOR OVER A MONTH WITH A FAMILY AND ONLY ONE VEHICLE. AT A MINIMUM, TOYOTA SHOULD BE PROVIDING RENTAL CARS FREE OF CHARGE FOR ALL THOSE AFFECTED. IT IS ALSO UNREASONABLE TO HAVE TO WAIT THIS LONG, WHEN OTHER CAR MODELS HAVE ALREADY HAD THE TAKATA AIRBAGS FIXED. TOYOTA IS A REPUTABLE BRAND FOR A CAR, HOWEVER, GIVEN THIS SITUATION THEY HAVE PUT ME IN, I WILL RETHINK THEM IN THE FUTURE.

TAKATA RECALL - WE RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER DATED JUNE 9, 2016 REGARDING THE WARNING ABOUT THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS. SINCE RECEIVING THE LETTER, WE HAVE LIMITED THE USE OF THE VEHICLE TO ONLY NECESSARY USE AND DO NOT TRANSPORT PASSENGERS DUE TO THE POTENTIAL RISK OF INJURY DUE TO THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS. IT HAS NOT BEEN OVER 6 MONTHS SINCE RECEIVING THE RECALL LETTER AND AFTER CALLING OUR DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES THROUGHOUT THIS 6 MONTH PERIOD, WE STILL CANNOT GET THE AIRBAGS REPLACED. *TR

IN DECEMBER 2016 I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE REGARDING THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG. THE RECALL NOTICE IS AN "INTERIM" NOTICE.THE NOTICE INDICATES THAT A REMEDY IS NOT YET AVAILABLE. IT IT IS NOW JULY 2017 AND I HAVE NOT HEARD A WORD FROM TOYOTA IN REGARDS TO HOW THEY ARE GOING TO REMEDY THE SITUATION. I AM PAYING FOR A VEHICLE THAT I CAN NOT FULLY UTILIZE.
