TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER FAILED TO PROVIDE THE REMEDY AND REPAIR PARTS TO THE DEALER WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME. THE DEALER (RAY BRANDT TOYOTA, 2460 VETERANS BLVD, KENNER, LA 70062, (504) 464-4500) STORED THE VEHICLE OUTSIDE FOR OVER A YEAR AND INDICATED THAT THEY SERVICED THE VEHICLE MONTHS LATER FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 17V006000 (AIR BAGS) AND 16V340000 (AIR BAGS). THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN IF BOTH REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED. IN ADDITION, THE HEADLAMP LENSES WERE FOGGY, THE FOG LIGHTS HAD WATER INTRUSION, THE RUBBER MOLDING AROUND ALL OF THE WINDOWS WAS DRY ROTTED, AND THE DASHBOARD HAD DENTS AND AN IMPRINT THAT WERE UNABLE TO BE REMOVED. THE DEALER FAILED TO REMEDY THE ADDITIONAL FAILURES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND A CASE MANAGER WAS ASSIGNED. THE CONTACT MADE NUMEROUS CALLS TO THE MANUFACTURER, BUT HAD NOT RECEIVED A RESOLUTION FOR OVER A YEAR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 TOYOTA COROLLA. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING FAILED AND THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD LOCK UP. THE STEERING WHEEL COULD NOT TURN LEFT OR RIGHT. AFTER TWENTY MINUTES, THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND RETURNED TO NORMAL. THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND MADE A BEEPING SOUND. ADDITIONALLY, THE ABS AND TRACTION WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY AND WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE RADIO WOULD TURN OFF WHEN CHANGING THE STATIONS AND THE DEFROST LIGHTING WOULD NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN ACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.

"TAKATA RECALL" TO MY KNOWLEDGE TOYOTA HAS YET TO REMEDY THIS RECALL SINCE GIVING NOTICE IN MAY OF THIS YEAR. THIS IS AN INCONVENIENCE, GOING ON SIX MONTHS NOW, AND I AM RESTRICTED FROM CARRYING A PASSENGER IN MY FRONT SEAT. I NEED MY FRONT SEAT PASSENGER SPACE AND CANNOT CONTINUE HAVING TO MAKE ALTERNATE ARRANGEMENTS TO FIT MY FAMILY IN A CAR. *TR

RECALLED IN MAY AND STILL NO FIX AVAILABLE.
TOYOTA HAS FAILED TO PROVIDE A REMEDY FOR THIS MANUFACTURER DEFECT IN A REASONABLE TIME. THE WARNING FOR THE RECALL HAS BEEN OUT SINCE MAY 2016 AND EVERY DAY THAT PASSES MEANS A HIGHER CHANCE OF A POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING OCCURRENCE. THEY STATE THAT THIS AIRBAG IS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, AND IF DEPLOYED METAL FRAGMENTS COULD BE RELEASED. THEY MAKE NO MENTION OF THE IMMINENT DANGER THIS ALSO PUTS THE DRIVER IN. A METAL FRAGMENT COULD FLY OUT AND STRIKE/KILL THE DRIVER AND ANY OTHER PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE. NOT JUST THE FRONT PASSENGER WHERE THE DEFECTIVE BAG IS LOCATED. A METAL FRAGMENT COULD EASILY FLY AND STRIKE THE DRIVER, HIT NUMEROUS MAJOR ARTERIES AND VEINS IN THE NECK AND CAUSE THEM TO BLEED TO DEATH. THIS HAZARD IS LIFE THREATENING AND I DON'T FEEL THAT IT'S BEING TREATED AS IF IT IS, I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN MY CAR NOR DO I FEEL SAFE HAVING ANY PASSENGERS IN MY CAR. TOYOTA IS EXTREMELY IRRESPONSIBLE FOR LETTING THIS HAZARD GO UNCHECKED SINCE MAY 2016, I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW AND WHY AIRBAGS HAVEN'T BEEN REPLACED MUCH SOONER. I WANT TO FEEL SAFE IN MY CAR AGAIN, AND FEEL THAT THE GRAVITY OF THIS HAZARD HAS REALLY NOT BEEN CONSIDERED. THIS IS NEGLECT, AND TOYOTA DRIVERS HAVE BEEN AT RISK FOR MONTHS-THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

"TAKATA RECALL" CASE # 1607202446 I HAVE BEEN GIVEN A LOANER VEHICLE SINCE SEPTEMBER OR OCTOBER OF LAST YEAR THROUGH WOLFCHASE TOYOTA IN GERMANTOWN TN. EVEN THOUGH I LIVE IN SOUTHAVEN, MS. IT WILL SOON BE A YEAR THAT MY PERSONAL VEHICLE WILL BE SITTING WITH NO USAGE. THE DAMAGES TO MY VEHICLE'S GAS TANK, FUEL PUMP, BATTERY, PAINT, TIRES, FLUIDS, RUST, OIL, BRAKES, ROTORS, PLUGS, AND MAYBE MORE COULD OCCUR WHILE SITTING SO LONG. THERE ARE NO OTHER SOLUTION BEING GIVEN OTHER THAN A LOANER VEHICLE THAT HAS TO BE RENEWED EVERY 30 DAYS, ABOUT 45 MILES AWAY FROM MY HOME. HOWEVER, MY OTHER CONCERN IS THAT ONCE MY PERSONAL VEHICLE IS FIXED THE REPERCUSSIONS FROM IT SITTING FOR SO LONG WILL CAUSE FOR ME TO HAVE EVEN MORE SAFETY PROBLEMS THAT WILL NOT BE WARRANTIED. ONE SOLUTION THAT COULD BE OFFERED WOULD BE TO MAYBE FIRST PROVIDE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE PARTS THAT ARE BEING AFFECTED, BECAUSE OF THE DAMAGES CAUSED WHILE THE VEHICLES ARE SITTING. ANOTHER SOLUTION COULD BE TO PROVIDE A CERTIFIED INSPECTION ON EACH VEHICLE BEFORE BEING RELEASED BACK TO THE CUSTOMER. OR THE LAST SUGGESTION IS TO MAYBE PROVIDE THE CUSTOMER WITH A SET AMOUNT TO GO TOWARDS A NEW VEHICLE SO THEY WON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE STRESS OF THE LOANER. I FEAR THAT ONE SAFETY ISSUE WILL BE TAKEN CARE OF ONLY TO BE REPLACED BY MANY MORE. MY FAMILY IS VERY VALUABLE TO ME, AND I FINANCIALLY CANNOT AFFORD TO BUY A NEW VEHICLE OR TO EVEN REPLACE ALL THE PARTS THAT CAN BE DAMAGED TO MY VEHICLE FOR SITTING FOR SUCH A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT CAN BE DONE.

TAKATA RECALL - WE HAVE NOT HAD A SPECIFIC INCIDENT WITH OUR CAR, BUT IT IS OUR PRIMARY VEHICLE AND WE NEED IT TO BE SAFE FOR LONG DISTANCE TRAVEL. IT HAS BEEN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME SINCE WE RECEIVED OUR NOTICE (06/09/16) AND WE WOULD LIKE TO GET THIS ISSUE RESOLVED IMMEDIATELY FOR THE SAFETY OF OURSELVES AND OUR FAMILY.
TAKATA RECALL: I RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM TOYOTA IN JULY ADVISING ME OF THE AIRBAG RECALL. I CALLED MY DEALERSHIP AND NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON. I THEN SENT AN EMAIL TO TOYOTA CORPORATE. INCIDENT # 160908-000084. I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THEM AND DURING THE CALL, I WAS ADVISED NOT TO LET ANYONE RIDE IN THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT. THEY WERE ALSO UNABLE TO GIVE ME ANY IDEA WHEN THE REPLACEMENT MIGHT TAKE PLACE. DOCUMENTATION ON THEIR WEBSITE INDICATED A POSSIBLE 2019 SOLUTION. IT IS UNREASONABLE AND UNACCEPTABLE TO BE ADVISED NOT TO CARRY PASSENGERS IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT THAT COULD CAUSE METAL TO DISCHARGE AND MAIM OR KILL THEM. I NEED MY CAR AND I SOMETIMES TRANSPORT PASSENGERS. TOYOTA SHOULD REPLACE THE FAULTY AIRBAG WITH ONE THAT WON'T POSSIBLY KILL MY PASSENGER OR ME. WHILE THEY ARE REPLACING THE AIRBAG, THEY SHOULD ALSO PROVIDE ME A LOANER AT NO CHARGE TO ME UNTIL MY CAR IS SAFE TO DRIVE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER ATTEMPTING TO APPLY THE BRAKE PEDAL TO SHIFT THE GEAR, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED TO APPROXIMATELY 18 MPH IN REVERSE WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A BUILDING. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT DID NOT RECEIVE ANY INJURIES. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BODY WAS DAMAGED AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. I DID NOT THINK IT IS FAIR THAT I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL LONG- TERM EXPOSURE TO ENVIRONMENTAL MOISTURE & FLUCTUATING HIGH TEMPERATURES HAPPEN BEFORE THE PROPELLANT IN THE AIRBAGS DEGRADES CAUSING AN INJURY TO MY PASSENGER/S I WOULD LIKE FOR TOYOTA TO REPLACE THIS AIRBAG. TAKATA RECALL - TOYOTA IS REFUSING TO PROVIDE ME A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE UNTIL THEY CAN FIX THE AIRBAG. THEY CLAIM THEY ARE NOT OBLIGATED TO FIX THE VEHICLE UNTIL AT LEAST 6 YEARS HAVE PASSED. BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN NOVEMBER 2011, THEY WILL NOT GIVE ME A REPLACEMENT UNTIL NOVEMBER 2017. THIS DELAY MAKES NO SENSE BECAUSE THE AIRBAG DEGRADES WITH HEAT. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN SITTING IN A DEALERSHIP PARKING LOT UNDER THE HOT SUN OF TEXAS SINCE THE BEGINNING OF 2011 AND THE DEGRADATION DOES NOT START AT THE SALE DATE.

BOTH OF THE SUN VISORS HAVE GOTTEN SO LOOSE THAT THEY NO LONGER FUNCTION. I CAN'T LIFT THEM UP TO SEE AT NIGHT, AND WHEN I GO UP A HILL, IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE WHAT'S AHEAD. THEY PARTIALLY BLOCK THE VIEW OF THE ROAD AHEAD AT ALL TIMES WHEN I'M DRIVING. THE ONLY WAY TO CORRECT IT IS TO PURCHASE NEW VISORS AND HAVE A DEALERSHIP INSTALL THEM. I SEE THAT MANY OF THESE CARS HAVE A RECALL BECAUSE OF SUN VISOR PROBLEMS, HOWEVER, MINE IS NOT ON THE LIST. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY CONFIRMED IT WAS A PROBLEM, BUT THEY CAN'T FIX THEM. ALL SUN VISORS IN THESE CARS SHOULD BE REPLACED WITHOUT CUSTOMERS HAVING TO PAY OUT OF POCKET.

IT HAS BEEN A YEAR SINCE I RECEIVED THIS INITIAL NOTICE AND YET TOYOTA STILL HAS NOT COME UP WITH A RESOLUTION FOR THE AIRBAGS. MEANWHILE I'M NOT ABLE TO PURCHASE A NEW VEHICLE AT THIS TIME.
