TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED AN INTERIM NOTIFICATION ONE YEAR AGO AND THE REPAIR HAS STILL NOT BEEN DONE. ON THE NOTIFICATION THAT UNTIL THE REMEDY BECOMES AVAILABLE THEY RECOMMEND THAT WE DO NOT OPERATE THE VEHICLE WITH AN OCCUPANT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THIS IS TAKING AWAY THE USE OF THE CAR FOR OVER A YEAR AND WE STILL HAVE NO REPAIR DATE IN SIGHT. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

IT SEEMS ABSURD THAT SUCH A HIGH RISK RECALL HAS BEEN ALLOWED TO GO UNREMEDIATED FOR SO LONG. I FEEL AS THOUGH I CAN'T USE THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OF MY CAR FOR PASSENGERS RIDING WITH ME.

TAKATA RECALL: 8/27/2016 TOYOTA SAYS BOTH IN PRINT ON THE SAFERCAR.GOV SITE AND IN A CALL I RECENTLY MADE TO MANHATTAN BEACH TOYOTA THAT THERE IS CURRENTLY NO REMEDY FOR MY POTENTIALLY DEADLY TAKATA AIRBAGS AND THAT THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THERE WILL BE A REMEDY AVAILABLE. THIS RESPONSE IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE TO ME AND EXTREMELY IRRESPONSIBLE. I WANT TO KNOW IN DETAIL WHAT STEPS TOYOTA IS TAKING TO DEVELOP A SOLUTION TO REPLACING MY DANGEROUS AIRBAG. MY INSURANCE AGENT TELLS ME THERE HAS TO BE AN INCIDENT BEFORE THEY CAN COVER THE COST OF A LOANER VEHICLE. THIS ISSUE HAS TAKEN OVER SIX MONTHS SO FAR. I HAVE A DISABLED HUSBAND WHO HAS TROUBLE SITTING IN BACK SEAT. I HAVE A CARPOOL PARTNER WHO HAS TROUBLE SITTING IN BACK SEAT. IT IS NOW NEARLY TEN MONTHS LATER AND THE ISSUE STILL HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. I HAVE CALLED MY DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY REFUSE TO TELL ME WHEN THEY CAN FIX MY CAR. IN ADDITION, THEY HAVE REFUSED TO GIVE ME A REPLACEMENT CAR. THIS IS SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE AND AS YOU CAN IMAGINE, I AM STARTING TO GROW IMPATIENT.

IT HAS BEEN SEVERAL MONTHS NOW WITH NO RESOLUTION. I CALLED THE LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER IN MEDFORD, OREGON, AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE NO REMEDY. ACCORDING TO ONLINE INFORMATION THIS RECALL WAS INITIATED MAY 23, 2016. THIS IS AN UNREASONABLE WAIT TIME. PLEASE HELP. THANK YOU.
