TAKATA RECALL I FEEL THAT ONE YEAR IS ENTIRELY TOO LONG TO ASK PEOPLE TO SIMPLY "AVOID HAVING PEOPLE RIDE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT". PERHAPS IF MORE PEOPLE SPEAK UP, MANUFACTURERS WILL FEEL MORE INCLINED TO RECTIFY THIS ISSUE PROMPTLY.
TAKATA RECALL . ITS ALMOST A YEAR SINCE I GOT A RECALL NOTICE. I CHECKED WITH MY NEAREST TOYOTA DEALER AND THEY HAVE NOT COME UP WITH REMEDY. I AM ASKED NOT TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE WITH THIS RISK. I AM NOT VERY HAPPY WITH THIS SITUATION NOT BEING ABLE TO USE MY CAR WITH CONFIDENCE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT KNOW WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
THE TAKATA AIRBAGS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR OVER A YEAR AND THERE IS STILL NO REMEDY. MY HUSBAND USES THE CAR FOR WORK AND EVERY DAY HE IS ON THE ROAD, HE IS AT RISK NOT ONLY FROM OCCUPATIONAL HAZARD, BUT FROM THE AIRBAGS. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT PROVIDED A REMEDY IN A TIMELY FASHION AND I AM SUBMITTING A COMPLAINT.
I RECEIVED A NOTICE OF A TAKATA AIRBAG INFLATOR RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. THE NOTICE WAS DATED MAY 23, 2016. I TRIED CONTACTING MY TOYOTA DEALER SOON THEREAFTER, BUT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REPLACEMENT PART WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. I CONTACTED THEM ON OTHER OCCASIONS, AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING. TODAY, JUNE 14, 2017, SOMEONE CONTACTED MY TOYOTA DEALER ON MY BEHALF, AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PART IS STILL UNAVAILABLE. THE RECALL IS TO FIX A DEFECT THAT POSES THE THREAT OF METAL PROJECTILES CAUSING DEATH TO THE PASSENGERS IN THE EVENT OF A COLLISION. BY FAILING TO MAKE THE PART AVAILABLE WITHIN A YEAR, TOYOTA HAS FAILED TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM IN A REASONABLE TIME, ESPECIALLY GIVEN THE SEVERITY OF THE SAFETY THREAT. UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS RESOLVED, I AM DEPRIVED OF THE FULL USE AND ENJOYMENT OF MY VEHICLE.
TAKATA RECALL. I SAW THIS ON YOUR WEBSITE "IF THE MANUFACTURER HAS FAILED OR IS UNABLE TO REMEDY THIS SAFETY RECALL FOR YOUR VEHICLE IN A TIMELY MANNER, PLEASE CONTACT THE NHTSA." IT HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR SINCE I'VE BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE POTENTIAL OF METAL SHARDS COMING OUT OF THE AIR BAG DUE TO ISSUE. I LIVE IN THE SOUTHEAST NEAR THE COAST, SO THERE IS HEAT AND SALT WATER IN THE AIR. I DON'T WANT TO BE LIABLE FOR OTHERS BECAUSE I KNOW THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE AIRBAGS OR POTENTIALLY HARMED MYSELF IF THEY WERE TO DEPLOY. THIS IS GETTING KIND OF CRAZY BECAUSE I HAVE FRIENDS WHO HAVE COROLLAS WHO HAVE ALREADY GOTTEN THEIRS REPLACED, BUT MINE ONLINE STILL SAYS NO REMEDY. I DON'T REALLY UNDERSTAND HOW THE SOLUTION CAN BE FOUND FOR ONE COROLLA, BUT NOT ANOTHER AS AIR BAGS SEEM LIKE THEY WOULD HAVE THE SAME GENERAL DESIGN. IF IT'S A SUPPLY ISSUE, SHOULDN'T SOMETHING BE DONE. I
TOYOTA CASE NUMBER 1610251646. I HAVE BEEN WAITING YEARS FOR MY REPLACEMENT AIR BAGS. IS THIS REALLY HOW ITS SUPPOSE TO WORK. WHEN CAN I EXPECT REPLACEMENT AIR BAGS THAT WON'T KILL ME? THANK YOU FOR YOUR RESPONSE.
TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A NOTICE ON MAY 23, 2016 SAYING THAT MY FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG IS NOT SAFE, AND WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. HOWEVER, THE REMEDY FOR THIS PROBLEM HAS STILL NOT BEEN PROVIDED. IT HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR, AND THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.
IN JUNE 2016 I WAS SENT A LETTER STATING MY CAR IS INVOLVED IN A RECALL DUE TO THE AIRBAG INFLATORS. THE RECALL STATES "THE PROPELLANT IN THESE INFLATORS MAY DEGRADE AFTER PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO HIGH ABSOLUTE HUMIDITY AND FLUCTUATING HIGH TEMPERATURES. DEGRADED PROPELLANT CAN CAUSE INFLATORS RUPTURE DURING AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. IN THE EVENT OF AN INFLATORS RUPTURE, METAL FRAGMENTS COULD PASS THROUGH THE AIRBAG CUSHION MATERIAL, STRIKING THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS, AND RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH." AND SO FAR NO FURTHER COMMUNICATION HAS BEEN SENT AS TO HOW AND WHEN THIS PROBLEM WILL BE REMEDIED. IT SHOULD ALSO BE NOTED THAT I LIVE IN THE MOST PROBLEMATIC ZONE, WHICH IS DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL.

OVER 6 MONTHS LATER, STILL NO WORD. 1 YEAR, 1 MONTH AFTER ORIGINAL NOTICE, STILL NO FIX OR WORD FROM DEALERSHIP. OWNER AND FAMILY ARE UNABLE TO SAFELY DRIVE THIS VEHICLE PURCHASED IN 2015 BECAUSE OF DEFECTIVE SAFETY FEATURES, AND ARE PAYING MONTHLY FEES TO SIT AND LOOK AT A VEHICLE THAT IS NO LONGER SAFE TO DRIVE. RESALE OF THE VEHICLE IS NOT AVAILABLE, DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THEY WILL BUY THE CAR UNDER VALUE TO SELL FOR PARTS, LEAVING A NEGATIVE EQUITY OF THOUSANDS FOR THE OWNER TO PAY. THIS NEEDS TO BE REMEDIED. ALSO JUST HEARD THAT ANOTHER DRIVER HAS DIED BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM ( 18 AND COUNTING WORLDWIDE ), AND THAT TAKATA HAS FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY! SUPPOSEDLY THE LATEST DRIVER TO DIE RECEIVED 10 NOTICES AND FAILED TO HAVE THE PROBLEM RESOLVED. WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IS WHY I HAVE YET TOO RECEIVE EVEN MY 1ST NOTICE??? IS IT BECAUSE I AM A "SECONDARY" OWNER AND DO NOT HAVE THE SAME "RIGHTS" AS AN ORIGINAL OWNER? PROTECTION SHOULD BE EQUAL UNDER THE LAW!!!

TAKATA RECALL WE HAVE WAITED 15 MONTHS TO HAVE OUR DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS REPLACED. NOTHING IS HAPPENING. WE FEEL IGNORED. MEANWHILE, WE ARE AFRAID TO USE THE CAR AS A FAMILY CAR SINCE DEATHS FROM EXPLODING AIRBAGS HAVE BEEN REPORTED IN THE NEWS MEDIA. ONLY ONE FAMILY MEMBER AT A TIME DRIVES IT. "TAKATA RECALL" I RECEIVED MY RECALL LETTER BACK IN MAY 2016 BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY NOTIFICATION ON WHEN REMEDY WILL BE AVAILABLE. IT'S BEEN OVER A YEAR AND I AM STILL WAITING. MY COLLEGE DAUGHTER IS DRIVING THE CAR AND I NEED TO KNOW THAT SHE WILL BE SAFE WHEN DRIVING IT. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION ON THE STATUS OF THIS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
TAKATA RECALL I HAVE A 2011 TOYOTA COROLLA. OTHER THAN THE AIRBAG ISSUE I AM COMPLAINING ABOUT, THE VEHICLE IS WORKING FINE. I DRIVE IT REGULARLY. I RECEIVED A LETTER IN MAY, 2016 FROM TOYOTA, INFORMING ME THAT THE TAKATA AIRBAG ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE IS FLAWED. ACCORDING TO THE LETTER, TOYOTA WOULD PREPARE TO REPLACE THE FLAWED AIRBAG AND WOULD NOTIFY ME SHOULD REMEDY BE READY. 15 MONTHS PASSED. IT IS NOW ALMOST SEPTEMBER, 2017 AND I HAVE HEARD FROM TOYOTA AGAIN. THE FLAWED AIRBAG IS STILL NOT REPLACED. I DO NOT THINK TOYOTA IS BEHAVING IN A WAY THAT SHOWS THEY TAKE CUSTOMERS' SAFETY SERIOUSLY. I DEMAND A REPLACEMENT AND A PAYMENT FOR MY INCONVENIENCE AND DANGER.

ACCORDING TO TAKATA, THE PROPELLANT IN THESE INFLATORS MAY DEGRADE AFTER PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO HIGH ABSOLUTE HUMIDITY AND FLUCTUATING HIGH TEMPERATURES. DEGRADED PROPELLANT CAN CAUSE INFLATOR RUPTURE DURING AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. IN THE EVENT OF AN INFLATOR RUPTURE, METAL FRAGMENTS COULD PASS THROUGH THE AIRBAG CUSHION MATERIAL, STRIKING THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS, AND RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.

TAKATA RECALL - IT IS ABSURD THAT THIS RECALL WAS ISSUED IN MAY 2016, AND IT IS NOW 15 MONTHS LATER, AND TOYOTA HAS NOT CREATED A REMEDY, NOR EVEN A PROJECTED TIMEFRAME FOR WHEN A REMEDY WILL BECOME AVAILABLE. I HAVE TRIED CALLING TOYOTA HEADQUARTERS IN THE US TO COMPLAIN AND SEEK RESOLUTION, AND WAS ADVISED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO AND I WOULD NEED TO CALL MAIN HEADQUARTERS IN JAPAN. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO HAVE ANYONE SIT IN MY FRONT SEAT OR TO SET ANY HEAVY WEIGHT ON MY FRONT PASSENGER SEAT THIS WHOLE TIME, SINCE I LIVE IN TEXAS, AN AREA WITH A CLIMATE WHICH SHOULD HAVE DEGRADED MY AIRBAG TO A DANGEROUS LEVEL BY THIS TIME.
