"TAKATA RECALL" WE RECEIVED OUR RECALL NOTICE LETTER AND IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED OUR LOCAL AUTHORISED TOYOTA IN RHINELANDER WI AND WERE TOLD IT WOULD TAKE A FEW WEEKS FOR THE REPLACEMENT PARTS TO ARRIVE. AFTER NOT HEARING FROM THEM IN THAT TIME WE PHONED AGAIN, AND AFTER ONCE AGAIN GIVING OUR VIN AND INFORMATION , WE WERE TOLD WHO EVER TOOK THE CALL HAD NOT SUBMITTED THE ORDER . SO ONCE AGAIN WE ARE TOLD IT'S ON BACKORDER AND THEY WILL CONTACT US WHEN IT COMES IN SO THEY CAN SET UP A APPOINTMENT TIME TO FIX IT. THE RECALL NOTICE RECOMMENDED NOT HAVING A OCCUPANT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. WE SHOULD BE PROVIDED WITH A SAFE VEHICLE BY TOYOTA TO USE WITH THE LENGTH OF TIME THIS IS TAKING UNTIL THIS IS FIXED.

TAKATA RECALL. SAFETY RECALL NOT REMEDIED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 TOYOTA MATRIX. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE. ALSO, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE AND OIL INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ABLE TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL INDEPENDENT MECHANIC IN DETROIT MICHIGAN. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER OR MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED OR MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 170,000.
TAKATA RECALL. TOYOTA HAS REPEATEDLY ASSURED US THAT THE NEW AIRBAG PARTS WILL BE READY IN "ONE MONTH". TOYOTA HAS BEEN SAYING THIS FOR THE PAST 5 MONTHS LEAVING US WITH A CAR THAT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND WE ARE UNABLE TO SELL. TOYOTA'S BEST ADVICE WAS TO NOT DRIVE THE CAR AND COME IN FOR A RENTAL WHILE WE WAIT, THEY HAVE BEEN OUT OF RENTALS FOR THE ENTIRE TIME WE'VE BEEN WAITING. I UNDERSTAND MOST OF THIS IS TAKATA'S FAULT BUT TOYOTA HAS DONE A TERRIBLE JOB KEEPING US INFORMED AND IS ALLOWING MY FAMILY TO DRIVE A POTENTIAL DEATH TRAP COVERED IN THEIR BADGES.
TAKATA RECALL. RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE WHILE PREGNANT, TOYOTA DID NOTHING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. TOLD ME I STILL HAVE TO DRIVE THE CAR EVEN THOUGH THE AIRBAG COULD POSSIBLY EXPLODE EVEN THOUGH NO ONE WAS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. IT'S BEEN ALMOST A YEAR, AND STILL NO RESOLUTION.

VEHICLE STALLED SITTING AT A RED LIGHT AND ALSO STALLED MAKING LEFT HAND TURN AT INTERSECTION. SPEED WAS APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH. VEHICLE WAS ON SMALL HIGHWAY AT THE STOP LIGHT AND CITY STREET THE 2ND INCIDENT. WE JUST BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED IN APRIL OF 2017

I RECEIVED NOTICE FROM TOYOTA 2-24-17 RE: RECALL. ON 4-28-17, I WAS GIVEN AS APPT'T TO HAVE FIXED ON 5-2-17. I WAS AT TOYOTA FOR 1 HR., SAW MY CAR BE DRIVEN OUT TO PARKING AREA. AFTER 5 MIN., I INQUIRED WHY THEY WERE NOT WORKING ON IT, AND WAS TOLD PARTS NOT IN.!!!OVER TWO MONTHS, AND STILL NO WORD AS TO WHEN IT WILL BE CORRECTED.
TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE MONTHS AGO (ALTHOUGH LETTER WAS NOT DATED MAKING IT MORE DIFFICULT FOR THE CUSTOMER TO TRACK LACK OF PROGRESS- HENCE DATE BELOW IS A GUESSTIMATE. THE LETTER (ATTACHED) NOTIFIED ME THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WAS DEFECTIVE AND DANGEROUS. THE LETTER SAID THAT TOYOTA WAS SEEKING A REMEDY AND IN THE MEANTIME I SHOULD NOT USE THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. I HAVE HEARD NOTHING SINCE. SO I HAVE EFFECTIVELY BEEN DENIED FULL USE OF MY CAR FOR MONTHS. THIS IS NOT REASONABLE. MY ELDERLY MOTHER IS COMING TO LIVE WITH ME. I NEED USE OF THE PASSENGER SEAT. IS TOYOTA PREPARED TO PAY FOR A RENTAL OR OFFER SOME OTHER COMPENSATION?

TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OVER A YEAR AGO FROM TOYOTA ABOUT THE RECALL. I JUST CALLED TODAY AND THEY SAID THE PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND I COULD TRY CALLING AGAIN IN "A COUPLE OF MONTHS." WHAT IS A REASONABLE TIME FRAME FOR THIS ISSUE TO BE FIXED?
TAKATA RECALL -MY LOCAL DEALER IS TOYOTA OF SANTA BARBARA CA IS ABOUT 3 MILES FROM MY WORK AND THE SERVICE MANAGER KURT INVITED ME TO USE THE OXNARD STORE ABOUT AN HOUR AWAY BECAUSE ON A PREVIOUS SERVICE VISIT I LEFT A NEGATIVE REVIEW OF MY SERVICE EXPERIENCE. I WANT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG REPAIRED RAPIDLY FROM MY LOCAL STORE NOW THAT THE PART IS IN STOCK AND WANT A RENTAL OR LOANER VEHICLE UNTIL THE REPAIR IS COMPLETED
MY MATRIX 2009 HAS HAD INTERMITTENT SUDDEN ACCELERATION PROBLEMS. I MENTION IT AT MY REGULAR MAINTENANCE CHECK UPS, BUT RECEIVE NON-COMMITTAL REPLIES. I FIGURE I MUST BE LOSING IT. OVER THE LAST 8 MONTHS OR SO, IT GOT EXTREME: THE CAR WILL LURCH FORWARD AT DIFFERENT TIMES: WHEN I START UP THE CAR, IDLING AT A LIGHT, OR SLOWING TO A STOP. TODAY, SUNDAY MORNING, AS I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT AT WALMART, I BEGAN TO BRAKE SLOWLY WHEN THE TRANS ROARED AND LURCHED FORWARD. IT JUMPED THE CURB AND PLOWED INTO THE FRONT END OF THE CAR FACING ME. AT FIRST, I THOUGHT I MUST HAVE HIT THE GAS - BUT NO. MY FOOT WAS STILL ON THE BRAKE - ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I STILL OWE MONEY ON THIS CAR. I RUINED THE FRONT END OF ANOTHER CAR. I AM A SINGLE MOM OF 2 AND A TEACHER. I DON'T KNOW HOW I AM GOING TO BE ABLE TO HANDLE THIS. I DO NOT INTEND TO REPAIR THIS CAR. IT IS NOT SAFE. THANK GOD THE OTHER CAR WAS EMPTY. THIS CAR COULD HAVE KILLED SOMEONE. AND, NO: NO TICKETS/ACCIDENTS/AGEISM. JUST A REGULAR MIDDLE-AGE LADY WHO BOUGHT A USED CAR 4.5 YEARS AGO, TOOK GOOD CARE OF IT, AND AM NOW SERIOUSLY STUCK AND STRESSED. SO, THANK YOU TOYOTA. I USE MY VEHICLE FOR MY FAMILY AND TOYO IS RECOMMENDING THAT I NOT USE IT. DOES TOYOTA PLAN TO PROVIDE LOANER VEHICLES OR RENTAL CAR RE-IMBURSEMENT FOR THE PERIOD WHEN MY VEHICLE IS NOT OPERABLE AS A 5-PASSENGER VEHICLE WITH PASSENGER AIR BAGS? TAKATA RECALL THE NHTSA IS AWARE OF THIS RECALL BUT MAY NOT APPRECIATE THE FULL IMPACT ON THE OWNER OF THE CAR. I FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING IT DUE TO THIS RECALL BUT THERE IS NO REMEDY. I CAN'T GET IT FIXED. WHEN I WENT TO THE DEALER AND ASKED WHEN REMEDY IS AVAILABLE NO ONE KNOWS. SO I SAID FINE LET ME TRADE IT IN AND BUY A NEW CAR. HOWEVER, SINCE THERE IS A RECALL THE DEALER SAID HE COULDN'T OFFER FULL TRADE IN PRICE BECAUSE HE WOULD BE UNABLE TO SELL IT UNTIL THE REMEDY IS MADE. TAKATA RECALL - 16V-340 &17V-006 TOYOTA DOES NOT HAVE A SOLUTION FOR THE AIRBAG INFLATOR (ZONE B) THIS IS ONLY FAMILY VEHICLE. MY WORKING VEHICLE, I READ THE DETAILS ON THE RECALL NOTICE. METAL DEBRI CAN FLY IF THE AIRBAG IS DEPLOYED. I HAVE A 10 MONTH OLD THAT RIDES IN THE BACK SEAT AND AM AFRAID THE DEBRI WILL REACH HER AS WELL. I WOULD APPRECIATE IF TOYOTA WOULD WORK WITH ME TO FIND A SOLUTION IMMEDIATELY!

THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND IT IS A RECALL ON THE PASSENGER AIR, BUT THEY ARE INFORMING THAT IT IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE, UNTIL THE ANOTHER NOTICE COMES OUT AND THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR REPAIR. THIS IS A VERY BIG INCONVENIENCE AND A DISADVANTAGE ON THE BEHALF OF TOYOTA. THE ONLY SOLUTION TOYOTA SUGGEST UNTIL THE REMEDY OR PARTS BECOMES AVAILABLE IS THAT DO NOT OPERATE THE VEHICLE WITH AN OCCUPANT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT TO ENSURE SAFETY. I AM VERY DISSATISFIED WITH TOYOTA AND OTHER MEASURES SHOULD BE TAKEN IN ORDER TO ENSURE SAFETY OF MY VEHICLE.

DUE TO THE FACT THAT TOYOTA CANNOT GUARANTEE NOT ONLY A TIMELINE TILL WHEN A SOLUTION WILL BE PROVIDED TO RESOLVE THE RECALL, BUT THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY WITH NO ONE IN IT, MY VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. THE RISKS GREATLY OUTWEIGH ANY BENEFIT OF DRIVING THE VEHICLE.

HOWEVER, THIS IS A REAL CONCERN, BEING THAT THE STEERING APPEARS TO BE AN ISSUE FOR THESE CARS. WHAT CAN I DO TO GET THIS REPAIRED?
