On January 9, 2018, Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) notified NHTSA that they are recalling 14,585 model year 2010-2012 Yaris vehicles ever registered in the states of Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. As of January 30, 2018, Toyota is additionally recalling 3,347 model year 2010 Pontiac Vibe vehicles located in states listed above. Also included in this recall filing is 98,194 model year 2003-2008 Toyota Corolla Matrix vehicles, located throughout the U.S., that previously received a like-for-like interim air bag inflator replacement. These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules used as original equipment or replacement equipment. In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger frontal air bag, these inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling.
Remedy Status
Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag assemblies with an alternate inflator, free of charge. The recall began on January 29, 2018. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are G0R (Zone B), and H0A (Zone C), J0A (Matrix Zone A), J0A (Matrix Zone A), J0A (Matrix Zone A).
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2010-2016 4Runner, 2003-2006 Tundra, 2003-2013 Corolla, 2009-2010 Corolla Matrix, 2004-2005 RAV4, 2002-2007 Sequoia, 2011-2013 Sienna, 2008-2012 Scion xB, 2008-2009 Lexus IS-F, 2007-2012 Yaris and Lexus ES350, 2010-2017 Lexus GX460, 2002-2010 Lexus SC430, 2006-2012 Lexus IS250 and IS350 and 2010-2015 Lexus IS250C and IS350C vehicles. These vehicles had their driver or passenger frontal air bag inflators previously replaced under a prior recall using inflators of the same design. The inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.
Remedy Status
Toyota will notify owners. Depending on the vehicle model, dealers will replace the front driver inflator, front passenger airbag inflator, the airbag assembly, or the front passenger airbag sub-assembly and inflator. The recall began November 20, 2019. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371 or Lexus customer service at 1-800-255-3987. Toyota's numbers for this recall are J0A, J0B, and J0C. Lexus' numbers for this recall are JLI, JLJ, and JLK.
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2008-2011 Scion xB and Lexus IS F, 2009-2011 Toyota Corolla and Corolla Matrix, 2006-2011 Toyota Yaris, Lexus IS250 and Lexus IS350, 2010-2011 Toyota 4Runner, Lexus IS250C, Lexus IS350C and Lexus GX460, 2011 Sienna, 2007-2011 Lexus ES350, and 2009-2010 Pontiac Vibe vehicles, originally sold, or ever registered, in Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan), and the U.S. Virgin Islands, or "Zone A." Additionally, unless included in "Zone A" above, Toyota is recalling certain model year 2008 Scion xB and Lexus IS F, 2007-2008 Toyota Yaris, 2006-2008 Lexus IS250 and Lexus IS350 and 2007-2008 Lexus ES350 vehicles, originally sold, or ever registered, in Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia, or "Zone B." Remedy Status
Toyota will notify the Toyota and Lexus owners. General Motors will contact the Pontiac owners. Depending on the model, dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag inflator or the air bag assembly, free of charge. The recall began on December 6, 2016. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for interim notification for this campaign are G1P (Toyota Zone A), G1R (Toyota Zone B), G2G (Lexus Zone A), and G2H (Lexus Zone B). Toyota's numbers for final remedy for this campaign are G0P (Toyota Zone A), G0R (Toyota Zone B), GLG (Lexus Zone A), and GLH (Lexus Zone B).
The car malfunction issue that is being reported is for the 2011 Toyota Yaris Gearshift and yes it is available upon request. The safety of small children were at risk when the vehicle was turned off no key in the ignition and no pressure on the break but the gear was pulled it shifted into neutral and completed an accelerated roll away with a small child inside. Not as of yet, has this vehicle been inspected by an independent service center. Vehicle has been inspected by other individuals and insurance reps. NO WARNING LIGHTS VISIBLE because keys were never in vehicle or in vehicle ignition.
I CALL TO TOYOTA, AND I WAIT FOR APOIMENTNT
IT WAS NEW YEAR'S EVE 12/31/2018 IT WAS RAINING AND I WAS GOING HOME AFTER PICK UP DINNER FOR MY FAMILY AND I WAS COMING TO A STOP SIGN AND I PRESSED ON MY BRAKES AND IT DIDN'T CATCH ON AND I LET OFF OF IT AND PRESSED ON IT AGAIN. I STILL FELT LIKE I WAS SLIDING AND THAT WHEN I PRESSED ON IT EVEN HARDER AND I KEPT SLIDING. I TURNED MY WHEEL SO I WOULDN'T HIT STRAIGHT TO THE TREES AND THE DITCH BUT ONCE I TURNED THE WHEEL I FELT THE CAR BEING PUSHED LIKE THE WIND BLEW ON IT AND NEXT THING I FEEL THE CAR WAS HIT AND ROLLING DOWN THE DITCH AND THE AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. IT HAPPENED SO FAST I THOUGHT WE WERE DIED CAUSE IT WAS MY 6 MONTHS OLD DAUGHTER AND I. THE FIRST DAY AFTER THE ACCIDENT MY NECK WAS HURTING SO BAD THAT IT HURT FOR ME TO SWALLOW AND MY CHEST, SHOULDERS, AND BACK HURTS. MY DAUGHTER AND I WENT TO URGENT CARE ON 1/2/2019 CAUSE THE DOCTORS OFFICE WERE CLOSED AND THE EMERGENCY ROOM WAS FULL OF PEOPLE THE NEXT DAY CAUSE IT WAS A HOLIDAY I WISH I HAD WENT WITH THE AMBULANCE OR WENT THAT SAME DAY CAUSE I WAS IN SO PAIN AFTER. WE DIDN'T GET VISIBLE SCARS MY DAUGHTER WAS STRAPPED IN HER CAR SEAT AND I HAD MY SEATBELT ON CAUSE I ALWAYS MAKE SURE I HAVE MY SEATBELT ON EVERY TIME I'M IN A CAR I CAN FEEL MY BRUISES I COULDN'T GET A MRI CAUSE I WAS GIVEN A PREGNANCY TEST AND IT CAME UP POSITIVE BUT I DID GET A X-RAY ON MY NECK. ALL I CAN TAKE FOR PAIN IS TYLENOL 1 PILL EVERY 6 HOURS OR 2 PILLS EVERY 12 HOURS. I HAVE TO FOLLOW UP WITH MY DAUGHTER DOCTOR NEXT WEEK TO SEE IF EVERYTHING STAYS NORMAL FROM HER URGENT CARE CHECK UP. I'M TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT HAPPENED WITH MY CAR CAUSE I WASN'T GOING THAT FAST AND THE CAR HITTING SO HARD I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY THE AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY? TAKATA RECALL
TAKATA RECALL: UPON RECEIVING THE RECALL LETTER FROM TOYOTA APPROXIMATELY 6 WEEKS AGO I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED ONE OF THE 2 LOCAL DEALERS (PRECISION TOYOTA) AND ARRANGED TO HAVE THE PARTS ORDERED. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 7 TO 10 DAYS I WAS NOTIFIED THAT THE PARTS HAD ARRIVED AND I ATTEMPTED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR REPAIR BUT THE DEALER IS UNWILLING TO GIVE ME A RIDE HOME SO I CAN USE A BORROWED VEHICLE TO GO TO WORK. YESTERDAY I WAS ADVISED BY A REP FROM PRECISION TOYOTA THAT THEY AGAIN WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GIVE ME A RIDE HOME ON THEIR SHUTTLE BUT WOULD ARRANGE FOR AN UBER TO RETURN ME HOME. UPON ARRIVAL THIS MORNING AT PRECISION TOYOTA I WAS ADVISED THAT THEY IN FACT WOULD NOT ARRANGE FOR A RIDE TO MY HOME BECAUSE OF WHERE I LIVE (APPROXIMATELY 19 MILES FROM THE DEALER). I WORK AND CANNOT AFFORD TO TAKE A DAY OFF FROM WORK ESPECIALLY FOR SOMETHING THAT IS NOT MY FAULT!!! TOYOTA IS FAILING AT THIS RECALL!

I FILED A CLAIM FOR THE AUTO AIRBAG SETTLEMENT IN 2017. I NEVER RECEIVED ANY RESPONSE AND WHEN I CONTACTED TOYOTA THEY STATED BOB BAKER DOES NOT EXIST ANYMORE. NO ONE HAS AN ANSWER. THANK YOU, AMPARO PEREZ-FLYNN

THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG OFF LIGHT WITH NOT SHUT OFF AS WELL AS THE SRS LIGHT. BOTH PASSENGER AND DRIVER WERE IN SEAT.

TAKATA RECALL I WISH TO COMPLAIN ABOUT TAKATA AND TOYOTA ABOUT THEIR MUTUAL HANDLING OF THE RECALL. THIS SUMMER I RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM TOYOTA RECOMMENDING KEEPING THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT UNOCCUPIED DUE TO THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG WHILE THEY SEEK A "REMEDY". FROM WHAT READING I HAVE DONE, THE REMEDY CONSISTS OF REPLACING THE DEFECTIVE TECHNOLOGY FROM TAKATA WITH A NEWER VERSION OF THE SAME DEFECTIVE TECHNOLOGY, THUS PROLONGING THE DANGER. THIS IS JUST A PLOY TO BUY TIME AND IT IS CRIMINAL. AS THE AIRBAG RECALL EXPANDS TO OTHER MAKES AND MODELS, WILL OTHER AIRBAGS IN MY VEHICLE BE AFFECTED AS WELL? SO NOW I AND MANY THOUSANDS/ MILLIONS OF OTHER DRIVERS MUST DRIVE VEHICLES THAT COULD EXPLODE ON US AT ANY GIVEN TIME AND THAT WILL BE DIFFICULT, IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE, TO SELL. WE SHOULD BE COMPENSATED AND TOYOTA AND TAKATA MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE.
