PURCHASED THE TRUCK FROM CAR GEEKS AND THEY SAID IT WAS A GREAT TRUCK AND WE WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM TOWING OUR FIFTH WHEEL TRAILER. WELL WE TOOK IT ON A TRIP TO PHOENIX FROM TUCSON AND WE NOTICED THAT THE TRUCK WAS NOT HANDLING VERY WELL WHEN WE GOT HOME I NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WAS GOUGED OUT ALL THE WAY AROUND THE INSIDE BEAD OF THE TIRE ALSO NOTICED THAT ONLY THE UPPER CONTROL ARM HAD BEEN REPLACED AND NOTHING ELSE. ALL OF THE FRONT SUSPENSION WAS IN REALLY BAD CONDITION ALSO. ALONG WITH THE STEERING YOU CAN ONLY TURN THE STEERING WHEEL A LITTLE WAYS
TAKATA RECALL FRAME IS BREAKING AIRBAG LIGHTS ON DASH IS MESSING UP
EXCESSIVE CORROSION ALL BRAKE LINES ROTTED OUT AND REPLACED, ROCKER PANELS TOTALLY ROTTED, AND EXCESSIVE RUST ON FRAME VERY COMMON WITH THIS YEAR G M FRAME ,G M SAYS THEY ONLY COVER FOR ONE YEAR. SO I AM FILING A COMPLAINT TO SEE IF THIS CAN RECTIFIED BEFORE SOME ONE IS INJURED DUE TO BRAKE FAILURE. PLEASE HELP. *TR
THE UNDER SIDE OF TRUCK IS RUSTING OUT. ALL THE CALIPERS, BRAKE LINES, AND FUEL LINES ARE RUSTED BADLY. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE TWO BRAKE LINES ALREADY. ALSO THE FRAME IS RUSTED. *TR

BODY AND UNDER BODY RUST AND ROT TO INCLUDE FRAME, BRAKE LINES AND SHOCK MOUNTS. BRAKE LINES FAILED WHILE I WAS DRIVING, THANKFULLY AT SLOW SPEEDS AND WAS ABLE TO ACTIVATE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 TO 70 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS; A CLUNKING NOISE CAME FROM OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS ALSO EXCESSIVE VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE NORMALLY. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THE FAILURE WAS CONTRIBUTED TO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE HUB. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON A SEPARATE OCCASION FOR THE IDENTICAL FAILURE. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE HUB WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT HAD CONCERNS OF THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,142. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 34,000.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN A SWITCHBACK AND THE RIGHT FRONT 1/2 OF THE AXEL AND WHEEL (TIRE AND RIM) SEPARATED, LEAVING ME RIDING ON THE RIGHT TIE-ROD AND BUMPER. THE AXEL AND TIRE/RIM BOUNCED OFF THE HOOD AND SLAMMED DOWN THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE TRUCK TAKING OUT ALL THE GLASS AND DAMAGING THE ROOF AND SIDE. I PARKED IT BY THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BY PUSHING THE EMERGENCY BREAK, IF I HAD PUSHED THE MAIN BREAK I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE LEFT LANE AND OVER THE SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN. THE LINKAGE BETWEEN THE RIGHT AND LEFT SIDES FAILED ACCORDING TO THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500 HD. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD PULSATE. THE DEALER STATED THAT ALL OF THE BRAKES, ABS SENSORS, FRONT AND REAR ROTORS, AND FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IN ADDITION, THE BRAKE LINE AND TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE FLUSHED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 36,400 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,700.
WHEN DRIVING FRIDAY MORNING JAN. 18, 2008 THERE WAS A SMALL NOISE IN THE TRUCK. LATER AT NIGHT WHEN I PICKED UP MY WIFE I WENT TO BREAK AND HAD A DIFFICULT TIME AND THAN WHEN WE STARTING GOING AGAIN THE WHOLE HUB ASSEMBLY CAME RIGHT OFF OF OUR TRUCK MAKING THE TRUCK COLLAPSE DOWN ON THAT SIDE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE FRONT END VIBRATED VIOLENTLY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE WHEEL BEARINGS WERE WORN OUT. THE WHEEL BEARINGS WERE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 123,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 124,446.
RIGHT FRONT WHEEL BEARING HAD TO BE REPLACED AT 49,000 MILES-WAS SO BAD THE WHEEL ALMOST FELL OFF ACCORDING TO MECHANIC THAT REPAIRED FOR ME. *JB
AT 74,500 MILES A RUMBLING NOISE INITIALLY OCCURRED AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND ONLY INTERMITTENTLY. AFTER ABOUT 3 WEEKS THE RUMBLE OCCURRED MOST OF THE TIME AND WAS MOST NOTICED AROUND 45 MPH. THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL WAS FOUND TO WORN AND REPLACED AT 75,500 MILES. *JB
MY CHEVROLET 2500HD BEGAN MAKING NOISE FROM THE FRONT END AT 67,500 MILES. THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL BEARING ASSEMBLY FAILED, THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT INVOLVED. THE WORN ASSEMBLY IS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION. ACCORDING TO THE REPAIR SHOP THIS A QUITE COMMON FAILURE IN THE 2500HD. HAD THIS BEEN A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE RESULTS VERY WELL COULD HAVE BEEN INSURMOUNTABLE. THE ASSEMBLY CONTAINS NON GREASE SEALED BEARINGS THAT SHOULD NOT FAIL AT THIS RATE. *JB
TL *- THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN HE HEARD A CRACKING NOISE IN HIS VEHICLE. WHILE CHECKING HIS VEHICLE HE NOTICED A LOT OF GREASE COMING OUT OF THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL. THE SAME DAY THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC (NOT A DEALERSHIP) AND THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS WITH HIS LOWER BALL JOINT. THAT OPINION, HE THEN CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURE AND THEY ADVISED HIM TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED DEALER AND GET A DIAGNOSIS ON VEHICLE. WHEN HE TOOK IT TO HIS LOCAL DEALERSHIP ON 12-02-06 THEY STATED THAT THE RIGHT FRONT AXLE JOINT WAS DAMAGE. AS WELL AS THIS PROBLEM THE CONTACT EXPERIENCE A PROBLEM WITH THE SPEEDOMETER ON 11-26-06. THE SPEEDOMETER WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY, THE SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT MOVE WHEN ACCELERATING. THE CONTACT HAS ALSO STATED THAT HE HAS A COPY OF THE DIAGNOSIS.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE UPPER BALL JOINT WAS REPLACED IN JUNE OF 2006 AND ON 11/9/2006 THE BALL JOINT FRACTURED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING 35 MPH. THE SERVICE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED.
BOUGHT 2003 SILVERADO 3500 4X4 USED IN 2006. IT HAD 125,000 MILES AND RAN GREAT. IN OCTOBER 2006, THE SPEEDOMETER STARTED READING INACCURATELY THE OIL AND BATTERY CHARGE GAUGE ARE NOT ACCURATE EITHER. I CONSIDER THIS A SAFETY ISSUE. I RECEIVED A LETTER STATING, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL MAY BE DEFECTIVE. THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS THE MILEAGE. IT IS OVER THE MAXIMUM ALLOWED TO REPLACE THE CLUSTER. I HAVE OVER 200,000 MILES ON MY TRUCK. THE TRUCK RUNS GREAT AND I WOULD NOT THINK TWICE ABOUT TAKING LONG TRIPS(OVER 2,000 MILES) AS I DO BECAUSE OF MY WORK. I DON'T THINK THERE SHOULD BE A MILEAGE LIMIT AT ALL. THERE IS CLEARLY A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THE CLUSTER. I THINK THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL PERIOD, NOT JUST A LETTER STATING THERE IS JUST A PROBLEM. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS AGAIN. THANKS D.H *TR
OCT 2005, HAD TO REPLACE THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL BEARING HUB ASSEMBLY ON MY 2003 CHEVY SILVERADO. SEPTEMBER 2006, THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL BEARING/HUB ASSEMBLY IS GOING BAD AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I DO NO OFF ROADING AND HAVE ONLY USED 4WD ABOUT 3 TIMES DURING THE WINTER.
THE FRONT SPRINGS ON 2003 CHEVROLET 1500 SILVERED QUAD CAB TRUCKS ARE COLLAPSING AND GMC/CHEVROLET KNOWS ABOUT PROBLEM AND SAYS IT THE OWNERS RESPONSIBLE TO FIX THEIR MISTAKE IN DESIGNING AND ENGINEERING THE TRUCK. THEY SENT OUT A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN TO ALL DEALERS ABOUT PROBLEM AND SAYS IT THE OWNERS NEED TO PAY $18.00 DOLLARS FOR RUBBER BUSHING TO PUSH UP SPRING AND 380.00 IN LABOR .IT NOT THE COMPANY'S FAULT. I THINK THEY NEED A RECALL AND REPLACE THE SPRINGS WITH HEAVY DUTY SPRINGS AT THEIR COST NOT THE OWNERS COST. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH ON DIRT ROAD AND ASPHALT, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND PULLED TO THE LEFT. THIS WAS ACCOMPANIED BY A CLUNKING SOUND FROM UNDER THE FRONT END. DURING THIS INCIDENT, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DISPLAYED INCORRECT INFORMATION ON EVERY GAUGE. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT PROPERLY,EITHER. THE VEHICLE BECAME LOCKED IN SECOND GEAR, AND WAS UNABLE TO BE SHIFTED OUT. FINALLY, THE BRAKES ON THE VEHICLE WERE SPONGY, CAUSING AN EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE FROM ANY SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SERVICE DEALER WHERE IT AWAITS A DIAGNOSIS.
