Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2009-2012 Acura TSX, 2011-2012 Acura TSX Wagon, 2010-2012 Acura ZDX, 2008-2012 Honda Accord, 2010-2012 Honda Accord Crosstour and Honda Insight, 2009-2012 Honda Fit, 2009-2012 Pilot, 2007-2011 Honda CR-V, 2012 Honda FCX Clarity and 2006-2011 Honda Civic, Civic Hybrid, Civic NGV vehicles originally sold, or ever registered, in Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan), and the U.S. Virgin Islands, or "Zone A." These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules used as original equipment or replacement equipment. In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the front air bags, these inflators may rupture due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling.
Remedy Status
Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger side air bag inflator, free of charge. The manufacturer has mailed an interim notification, and will send a second notification when parts are available. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are KE1 and KE2.
HONDA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2006-2007 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID VEHICLES. THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR THE VOLTAGE CONVERTER THAT RELAYS POWER FROM THE INTEGRATED MOTOR ASSIST (IMA) SYSTEM TO THE VEHICLE'S ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS TO FAIL.
Remedy Status
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE VOLTAGE CONVERTER FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 25, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-800-999-1009 A SELECT OPTION 4.
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, CERTAIN PARTS OF THE INTEGRATED MOTOR ASSIST (IMA) SYSTEM ARE LOCATED UNDER A METAL COVER BEHIND THE REAR SEAT-BACK. OVER TIME THE WEIGHT OF REAR SEAT PASSENGERS MAY CAUSE THE METAL COVER TO COME INTO CONTACT WITH A RUBBER CAP COVERING AN ELECTRICAL TERMINAL. THE RUBBER CAP MAY GET PINCHED, EXPOSING THE ELECTRICAL TERMINAL.
Remedy Status
DEALERS WILL INSTALL A PLASTIC COVER ATTACHED TO A METAL BRACKET OVER THE RUBBER CAP. THE RECALL BEGAN ON FEBRUARY 26, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HONDA AT 1-800-999-1009.

Remedy Status
HONDA WILL SEND A POSTCARD TO DEALERS AND OWNERS WITH THE CORRECT NHTSA VEHICLE SAFETY HOTLINE INFORMATION AND WITH INSTRUCTIONS TO INSERT THE CARD INTO THE "REPORTING SAFETY DEFECTS" SECTION OF THE OWNER'S MANUAL. THE RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 2, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HONDA AT 1-800-999-1009, ACURA AT 1-800-382-2238 OR HONDA MOTORCYCLES AT 1-866-784-1870.
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2009-2014 Acura TSX, 2011-2013 TSX Sport Wagon, and 2010-2012 ZDX and 2008-2012 Honda Accord, 2010-2011 Accord Crosstour, 2006-2011 Civic, Civic Hybrid and Civic NGV, 2012-2014 Crosstour, 2007-2011 CR-V, 2009-2013 Fit, 2010-2013 Insight, and 2009-2015 Pilot vehicles. The front passenger air bag inflator may have been installed incorrectly during replacement.
Remedy Status
Honda will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the inflator installation and, if necessary, replace the passenger frontal air bag module assembly, free of charge. The recall began July 5, 2019. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are M4O, P4R, T4Q, and W4P.

Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the inflator, free of charge. The recall began March 2017. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall is KA4, KA5, KA6, and KA7.
The contact owns a 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled while driving at various speeds. The contact detached and re-attached the battery and the vehicle operated as intended. The contact stated that a fault code would show regarding an issue with the braking system. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who confirmed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 11V106000 (Electrical System). The mechanic was unable to confirm the exact cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 195,000.
WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN SUDDENLY MY CAR ENGINE SHUTS OFF. THERE IS STILL POWER TOO THE CAR BUT THE SPEED ODOMETER DOESN'T WORK, ALONG WITH WHATEVER IS USED TO MONITOR THE MILAGE I HAVE TRAVELED. I HAVE TO SWITCH IT TOO LOW GEAR IN ORDER TOO KEEP IT GOING OR THE CAR STOPS EVEN WHEN IM GOING 65. IT HAS HAPPENED NOW MULTIPLE TIMES AND WHEN SHIFTED INTO PARK IT WON'T SHIFT OUT OF PARK FOR SEVERAL HOURS. I HAVE TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY TERMINALS TOO RESET THE CODES BECAUSE IF I DON'T ILL END UP SITTING IN MY CAR SEVERAL HOURS BEFORE I CAN START MOVING AGAIN. THE LIGHTS THAT ILLUMINATE ARE THE BRAKE SYSTEM, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, AND IMA SYSTEM ALL AMBER. IF I DIDNT ACT AS I DID THIS TIME IT WOULD HAVE BEEN LIKE THE FIRST TIME WHERE I ACTUALLY DID STOP ON THE FREEWAY CAUSING FOR A TRAFFIC JAM, NOT ONLY WAS THAT EMBARRASSING IT WAS ALSO SCARY BEING STUCK IN THE FURTHEREST LEFT LANE WITH NO SHOULDER ON THE LEFT SIDE TOO PULL OFF THE FREEWAY AND ALL THE CARS SPEEDING AT 65 MPH OR MORE BY ME .
ELECTRIC SISTEM FAIL
GAS TANK CRACKED AT 132K MILES, LEAKING GAS, FUMES IN CABIN AND CAUSING A SAFETY CONCERN. IT'S UNCLEAR EXACTLY WHEN IT HAPPENED, BUT IT WAS IN THE DRIVEWAY, STATIONARY AND EMITTING FUMES AFTER BEING FILLED UP WITH GAS WHEN I FIRST NOTICED AND STOPPED DRIVING IT. TURNS OUT, HONDA KNEW ABOUT THE ISSUE AND ISSUED A TECHNICAL BULLETIN TO DEALERSHIPS EXTENDINGWARRANTY FOR 10 YEARS OR 120,000 MILES BUT DESPITE REGULAR SERVICES AND OTHER RECALL FIXES, I WAS NEVER INFORMED THAT THIS COULD BE AN ISSUE, AND THE TANK WAS NEVER CHECKED FOR CRACKS BY THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE.
MY SON PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FROM AN INDIVIDUAL AT A DEALERSHIP. DROVE THE CAR HOME WITH NO PROBLEMS, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND THE SELLER DID TELL HIM THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE IMA BATTERY, BUT THAT IT DIDN'T KEEP FROM DRIVING IT. DIDN'T CRANK THE CAR FOR 2 DAYS. WHEN WE PUT THE 10 DAY TAG TO GET INSPECTION DONE IT WOULDN'T START. TOOK THE 12 V BATTERY OUT GOT IT TESTED AND SHOWED BAD BATTERY. REPLACED THE BATTERY, DROVE AROUND AND IT DIED THE STEERING STOPPED, THE LIGHTS STARTED FLICKERING AND IT WOULDN'T RESTART. WE TOOK THE NEW BATTERY OUT GOT IT RECHARGED BUT ARE UNABLE TO DRIVE IT MORE THAN 10 MILES WITHOUT IT FLOODING POWER AND FINALLY LEAVING STRANDED. IF IT WAS A STANDARD VEHICLE I WOULD SAY IT WAS THE ALTERNATE BUT THIS CAR DOESN'T HAVE THAT. THE IMA BATTERY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND WITHOUT IT THE CAR IS TRASH. WHAT CAN WE DO WITH THIS CAR? I CAN'T SELL IT, THAT WOULDN'T BE RIGHT. THE MAN WHO SOLD THIS CAR TO MY SON WAS WRONG IN DOING SO.
WHILE DRIVING THE POWER STEERING DISENGAGES LEAVING ME WITHOUT ANY POWER STEERING MAKING IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN MY STEERING WHEEL IN EITHER DIRECTION. THERE SEEMS TO BE NO RHYME OR REASON AS TO WHEN THIS WILL OCCUR. ONLY THAT IT WILL USUALLY HAPPEN AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES OF STEADY DRIVING. SOMETIMES IT HAPPENS WHEN I'M GOING STRAIGHT AND OTHER TIMES WHEN I'M GOING AROUND A BEND. IT HAS SHUT OFF ON ME WHILE TRAVELING AT SPEEDS OF 65, 55, 40, 30, 20, ALL THE WAY DOWN TO 5 MPH RIGHT AS I'M PREPARING TO PARK MY VEHICLE. FORTUNATELY, THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED ABOUT A MONTH AGO I HAPPENED TO BE GOING STRAIGHT. I DON'T KNOW WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED HAD IT OCCURRED 20 SECONDS EARLIER WHEN I WAS GOING AROUND A BEND. EVER SINCE THEN I STAY HYPER VIGILANT W/ 2 HANDS ON THE WHEEL, SO IF IT DOES HAPPEN WHILE TURNING I'LL BE ABLE TO MUSCLE MY WAY THROUGH THE TURN. SURE ENOUGH, YESTERDAY EVENING I GOT THE OPPORTUNITY TO TEST MY REFLEXES. WHILE TRAVELING 35 MPH ON A BACKROAD HIGHWAY I BEGAN TO TURN INTO THE SHARP BEND IN THE ROAD WHEN SUDDENLY THE STEERING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED, AND THE POWER STEERING SIMULTANEOUSLY DISENGAGED. AS I BEGAN TO DRIFT OVER INTO THE YELLOW LINE W/ ON-COMING CARS WHIZZING PAST, I DECISIVELY PUT EVERY OUNCE OF MIGHT I HAD INTO TURNING THE WHEEL AS FAST AND AS FAR RIGHT AS I COULD UNTIL I COULD GET MY CAR SAFELY TO THE SHOULDER. I NARROWLY ESCAPED A HEAD-ON COLLISION. WITH A SIGH OF RELIEF, I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, ACTIVATED MY HAZARDS AND SHUT OFF MY CAR FOR ABOUT 2 MINUTES. THAT USUALLY DOES THE TRICK. WHEN I RESTART MY CAR, I CAN USUALLY EXPECT THE POWER STEERING TO RETURN. AS I CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE ISSUE ALMOST ALWAYS SEEMS TO RESURFACE WITHIN 10 MINUTES OR SO. THE FACT THAT THE POWER STEERING JUST RANDOMLY DISENGAGES FOR APPARENTLY NO REASON WHATSOEVER IS OBVIOUSLY A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN. THIS REALLY NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED.

CHARLIES MOTOR MALL (465 WESTERN AVE, AUGUSTA, ME 04330, (207) 622-7327) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT IN A PARKING GARAGE WHERE I AM WORKING A TEMP FOR 2MO. MY CAR WOULDN'T STOP AND SEEM TO BE RACING ,INTO THE BRICK WALL (NO WAY TO STOP), I CALLED HONDA DEALER THAT WORKED ON MY CAR 2 WEEKS PRIOR, AND THEY PUT ON MACHINE AND DROVE IT AND TESTED THEY SAY, AND COULDN'T FIND ANY PROBLEMS THEY EVEN CALLED HONDA DEALER. SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT . I HAVE NECK AND UPPER THORACIC PAIN. IT WAS A NIGHT MARE. PLEASE HELP US . AMERICAN HONDA!! FRONT END DAMAGE. BUMPER GOT REPAIRED 1MONTH AGO FROM A TRUCK RUNNING A RED LIGHT .

TAKATA RECALL WE ARE CONTINUOUSLY REFUSED A RECALL OF THE AIRBAGS . OTHER MODELS WITH THE SAME PART NUMBER ARE BEING REPLACED , BUT BECAUSE WE HAVE A HIGH MILEAGE CAR THEY REFUSE US . IS THIS TRUE AND IS IT LEGAL ?
TAKATA RECALL - MY SON WAS DRIVING THIS CAR AND HIT ANOTHER CAR FROM THE REAR ON A US HIGHWAY. THIS CAR WAS TOTALED. SIX AIRBAGS WENT OFF IN THE CAR HE HIT, BUT NONE WENT OFF IN THIS CAR. HE SUSTAINED MINOR PHYSICAL INJURIES, BUT HAS BEEN EMOTIONALLY TRAUMATIZED AND REQUIRES PSYCHOSOCIAL THERAPY. I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO CONTACT ANYONE WHO WILL HELP US.
I CAN SMELL A STRONG GAS ODOR NEAR THE REAR OF THE CAR. I LOOKED UNDER THE CAR AND COULD SEE GAS DRIPPING FROM THE GAS TANK WHERE THE FILLER HOSE GOES INTO THE TANK. THERE IS A PUDDLE OF GAS UNDER THE CAR WHEN IT IS PARKED.

I DROVE HOME THIS CAR WITH MY SON WITH 1/4 TANK (25%) GASOLINE IN THE TANK. BUT, AFTER 3-DAYS SINCE THE GASOLINE WAS BELOW 1/4 OF THE TANK, I FULL TANK MY CAR WITH GASOLINE (FULL TANK). THE NEXT DAY WHEN I OPEN MY GARAGE FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE, I SMELL VERY STRONG GASOLINE VAPOR. I THOUGHT IT'S ONLY SOME CONTAINER OF CHEMICAL IN THE GARAGE THAT I SMELL THAT REALLY SMELL TERRIBLE. I CHECKED THE BOTTOM OF THE GROUND AND I SAW GAS SPILLING ONTO THE GROUND UNDERNEATH THE GASOLINE TANK. BY CHECKING A LOT OF REVIEWS FROM CONSUMERS/ AUTOMOBILE OWNER OF 2006 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID. THERE'S A LOT OF ISSUE OF CRACK GASOLINE TANK OF THIS PARTICULAR CAR,LEAKING FROM THE RUBBER GASKET BETWEEN THE GAS TANK AND THE FUEL FILLER NECK ALSO. WHEN THE GASOLINE IS LEAKING ON THE GROUND THAT GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM OF THE GASOLINE TANK, WHILE RUNNING THE FRICTION OF THE RUNNING METAL WHEELS CAN START A FIRE. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS ALSO IN THE PUBLIC. MY VIN# [XXX]. I CHECKED THE ONLINE REPORT THAT THE AMERICAN HONDA ARE EXTENDING 2006 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID FROM 80,000 TO 120,000 MILES FOR THE MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY. BECAUSE, OF THE CONSUMER'S/ AUTOMOBILE OWNER'S COMPLAINTS ABOUT LEAKING GASOLINE TANK. IT IS THE FAULTY OF ENGINEERING DESIGN. BUT, WE CANNOT JUST LET THIS PAST BY. IT'S VERY RISKY OF THE LIFE OF MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE OR PROBLEM. SOME 2006 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID OWNERS MIGHT NOT EVEN NOTICED THE LEAKING PROBLEM THAT CAN PUT THEIR OWN FAMILY IN GREAT DANGER.. HONDA HAD A CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT FOR REPLACEMENT OF UPPER CONTROL ARM KIT EXTENDED WARRANTY DUE TO REAR WHEEL EXCESSIVE TIRE WEAR, HOWEVER I WAS NOT INFORMED OF ISSUE AND THEREFORE HAVE MISSED THE DEADLINE FOR WARRANTY. AFTER CONTACTING AMERICAN HONDA, PLACING A CLAIM FOR GOODWILL ASSISTANCE AND AFTER REVIEWING THEY PROVIDED THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING FOR ME AND THAT I COULD RE-SUBMIT CLAIM ONLY AFTER I HAD HONDA DEALER PERFORM DIAGNOSTICS WHICH THEY CHARGE $75 FEE WITH NO GUARANTEE THAT THEY WOULD RECOVER THIS COST OR PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE FOR REPAIR OF ISSUE. I KNOW THIS IS THE ISSUE AS I HAVE ALL ORIGINAL HONDA OEM PARTS, HAVE NOTICED EXCESSIVE INNER TIRE WEAR ON THE RIGHT REAR TIRE AND HAD PEP BOYS PERFORM INSPECTION ALERTING ME TO THE HONDA REPLACEMENT KIT. IN MY RESEARCH I HAVE ALSO FOUND STATEMENT THAT THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE ISSUES WITH STEERING AND SAFETY. WITH HONDA REPAIR PRICES MUCH HIGHER THAN OTHER INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOPS, THERE IS NO REASON TO PAY HONDA DIAGNOSTICS CHARGE SIMPLY TO CONFIRM WHAT ALREADY ESTABLISHED KNOWLEDGE IS. END RESULT IS THAT HONDA HAS CORRECTED A FLAWED DESIGN YET IS NOT WILLING TO MAKE RIGHT WITH PROVIDING REPAIR FOR NEWLY DESIGNED REPLACEMENT KIT, WHICH MAKES ME A VERY UN-SATISFIED CUSTOMER OF THEIR PRODUCTS.
HONDA CVT TRANSMISSION SLIPS WHEN STARTING OUT , ESPECIALLY WHEN STARTING UPHILL . HAVE TAKEN TO HONDA AND PRIVATE MECHANICS NO SOLUTION. THIS THING SLIPPING WHEN I TRY TO START OUT INTO TRAFFIC CAN AND WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT SOMEDAY .
HONDA CIVIC HYBRID 2006 COULDN'T RUN SUDDENLY, EVEN THOUGH I PRESSED ACCELERATOR FULLY. IT WAS WHEN I DROVE ABOUT 30 MILES. ABOUT 5 KILOMETERS PREVIOUS FROM THE INCIDENT, IT BECAME TO HARD TO RUN GRADUALLY, FOR EXAMPLE, THE REACTION OF THE ENGINE BECAME LATER THEN IT COULDN'T RUN ONLY 15 MPH, EVEN THOUGH I PRESSED ACCELERATOR FULLY. FINALLY, MY CAR STOPPED ON THE BEACH BLVD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE POWER STEERING FAILED, THE HEADLIGHTS TURNED OFF, AND THE ENGINE STALLED. A WARNING ILLUMINATED AFTER THE FAILURES OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN REPAIRED BY A DEALER UNDER A RECALL; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN, NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER, AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNAVAILABLE.
DRIVER WAS COMING DOWN A HILL AND AROUND A CURVE AND PRESSED THE BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN AND THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE FROM THE BRAKES. THE DRIVER WAS FORCED TO PULL THE HAND BRAKE ON THE CAR - CAUSING THE CAR TO SWERVE INTO THE ONCOMING LANE. THE CAR WAS THEN HIT BY AN ONCOMING CAR. THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY TOTALED AND THE DRIVER SUFFERED MULTIPLE INJURIES. *TR
"VEHICLE SHUDDER PROBLEM" I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING A JOLTING/SHUDDERING ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE SINCE I PURCHASED IT IN 2013. WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP POSITION, THE VEHICLE SHUDDERS WITH THE STEERING VIBRATING BEFORE MOVING. ON A SNOWING OR RAINING DAY, SOME SKIDDING OCCURS WHICH HAS THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE SAFETY ISSUES. IT APPEARS THAT THERE HAS BEEN RECALLS IN SOME ASIAN COUNTRIES, I WOULD ENCOURAGE SIMILAR RECALL IN NORTH AMERICA FROM HONDA. I CALLED HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE @ 1-800-999-1009 THIS MORNING, AND WAS INFORMED THERE IS NO SHUDDER RECALL AT THIS TIME. IT WOULD BE DESIRABLE IF THE ADMINISTRATION COULD LIAISE WITH HONDA. WE SHOULDN'T REALLY WAIT UNTIL THERE IS FATALITIES BEFORE AN ACTION IS TAKEN. LET'S SAVE LIVES!
