Dorman Products, Inc. (Dorman) is recalling certain Accelerator Pedal Assemblies part numbers 699-114 and 825-5029-1, sold as replacement parts for 2003-2006 Acura MDX, 2004-2008 Acura TL and TSX, 2003-2007 Honda Accord, 2005-2006 Honda CR-V, 2007-2011 Honda Element, 2005-2008 Honda Pilot and 2006-2014 Honda Ridgeline vehicles. The rotating portion of the accelerator pedal assembly may bind. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 124, "Accelerator Control Systems."
Remedy Status
Dorman will notify owners, and qualified service facilities will replace the affected accelerator pedal assemblies, free of charge. The recall began December 9, 2019. Owners may contact Dorman customer service at 1-800-523-2492, using option 5. Dorman's number for this recall is AS1019XXXX.
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling specific 2003 Acura 3.2CL, 2013-2016 ILX, 2013-2014 ILX Hybrid, 2003-2006 MDX, 2007-2016 RDX, 2002-2003 3.2TL, 2004-2006, and 2009-2014 TL, 2010-2013 ZDX and 2001-2007 and 2009 Honda Accord, 2001-2005 Civic, 2003-2005 Civic Hybrid, 2001-2005 Civic GX NGV, 2002-2007 and 2010-2011 CR-V, 2003-2011 Element, 2007 Fit, 2002-2004 Odyssey, 2003-2008 Pilot, and 2006-2014 Ridgeline vehicles. The affected vehicles received a replacement driver air bag inflator as part of a previous Takata inflator recall remedy or a replacement driver air bag module containing the same inflator type as a service part. Due to a manufacturing error, in the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver frontal air bag, these inflators may explode.
Remedy Status
Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver's air bag inflator with an alternate inflator, free of charge. The recall began April 10, 2019. A WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR FOR THE HEATING, VENTILATION AND AIR CONDITIONING (HVAC) BLOWER MOTOR LOCATED UNDER THE PASSENGER'S SIDE OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL MAY BE ACCESSIBLE TO KICKING BY THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER'S FEET. IF THIS OCCURS, THE CONNECTOR TERMINAL MAY OVERHEAT, AND THIS MAY CAUSE THE WIRE INSULATION TO MELT OR THE WIRING CONNECTOR TO MELT.
Remedy Status
DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND IF THE WIRING CONNECTOR IS DAMAGED IT WILL BE REPLACED AND ALL VEHICLES WILL HAVE THE PROTECTIVE COVER INSTALLED FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 15, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HONDA AT 1-800-999-1009.

The affected vehicles are equipped with a dual-stage driver frontal air bag that may be susceptible to moisture intrusion and other factors, including manufacturing variability that, over time, could cause the inflator to rupture.
Remedy Status
Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began on July 1, 2015. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Note: Vehicles that have had their driver frontal air bag replaced previously as part of a recall remedy prior to September 12, 2014 need to have their air bag replaced under this recall as well. Rust in the frame- missing parts - holes
recall was initiated because salt used on roads during winter could accumulate along the rear frame, where the fuel tank is mounted, causing corrosion and potentially leading to the fuel tank becoming unsecured. Affected Vehicles: The recall covers 2006-2014 Honda Ridgeline pickup trucks that were sold or ever registered in the salt-belt region. Salt-Belt States: The affected states include Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington D.C., and Wisconsin. This is a known issue, I have a huge rusted hole in the truck, and it's not covered because I don't live in a surrounding state of Kentucky or Virginia but I live within 50 miles of both of these states. This known recall should be expanded to include Tennessee and North Carolina and it's ridiculous to recall 50 miles away but not here. Why would you allow this?
Noticed rust on driver side frame rail.
My subframe and back of my truck frame rusted so bad gas tank is close to falling off have a strap holding under it but it’s probably not going to help with a rust hole in the frame
The contact owns a 2006 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated that while the vehicle was at the dealer for an inspection, the dealer determined that the suspension and sub-frame were severely corroded. The contact was informed that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V430000 (Structure) however, the dealer declined to perform the recall repair due to the suspension and sub-frame corrosion. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact had recently purchased the vehicle from a private seller, who informed her that the engine and transmission had previously been replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 357,000. The contact took the vehicle to Bill Walsh Honda in Ottawa, IL for inspection and for the punch test required for recall 22V430 on Dec. 3, 2023 and was told the vehicle passed the punch test and needed to come back in a couple weeks to have new brackets put on to hold the gas tank. The appointment was set for Dec. 15, 2023 but the contact was told the punch test failed this time.

Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. We took my son's vehicle to our local Honda dealership for the recall repair. They replaced 2 bolts that secure the fuel tank straps to the frame. Then sent us away with an invoice saying the vehicle is not safe to drive due to severely rusted fuel tank straps. I have emailed and called American Honda many times to ask why this is not covered by the recall and requesting a buy back. They have only responded by saying the recall repairs were made. They won't put anything in writing explaining why the severely corroded fuel tank straps that are a safety issue per their dealership are not related to the recall.
The contact owned a 2006 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH, the front driver's side and passenger's side air bags deployed inadvertently. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the front driver's side air bag knocked him out, and he became unconscious, causing the vehicle to be involved in a collision. No further information was provided. The contact stated that he only recalled being assisted out of the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard, where it was totaled. The contact was unsure whether a police report was filed. The contact received medical assistance and was informed that the had sustained neck and back pain, and fractured ribs. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 300,000.
My vehicle was recalled for the rusting rear frame (Honda Case # [XXX]) which I took into the local Honda dealer (Stafford Brown in Arlington VA). The service manager at the dealer explained the subframe is rusted extensively to the extent that it is a safety issue. The service manager noted, while the vehicle passed the required Honda test specified in the Honda recall, it is a hazard, and the vehicle would likely fail the same test in 6 to 12 months. The service manager noted they can only address what is specified in the recall. The manager submitted the concern and pictures to the Honda DPSM. The manager also provided me with a copy of the pictures. I also submitted the pictures, to include the email from the service manager to Honda USA. Honda USA rep, Ms [XXX] , (case # [XXX]) contacted me and apologized for the situation I am in but offered no means to address the safety concerns. Honda could not explain why they have no remediation for the rust issue that is still a safety hazard when the recall was for rust. Honda is not addressing the issue that they responsible for and was required to remedy by NHTSA, which is rust. I am attaching the pictures and emails sent to me by the Honda Service Manager. 2006 HONDA RIDGELINE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO NHTSA SAFETY RECALL 22V-430. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HONDA FOR GAS TANK REPAIRS. THE MECHANIC FOUND FURTHER DAMAGE TO THE FRAME WHICH NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
There is currently a rust recall for vehicles registered in states surrounding me, but North Carolina, Tennessee is not included. The recall is from damage by salt to rusting frame and rocker panels. Mine was originally registered in Western NC and currently registered in north east TN. Both of these areas use salt on the roads and my Ridgeline is rusting in the rocker panels and underneath. This is a known issue but why would you allow Honda to not cover vehicles in neighboring states to those covered, i.e. Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia. Hoping you will act on this since you know it's a problem with states using salt and this Honda is starting to rust rapidly with no warning.

When my dealership inspected my rear frame for corrosion related to warranty 22V-430, they noted that the rear frame corrosion was so severe that the rear passenger wheel was no longer secured to the rear frame, resulting in a severe safety risk. However, warranty 22V-430 relates to corrosion of the rear frame resulting in an unsecured fuel tank which may result in a fuel leak and an increased risk of fire. The dealership and the district Honda representative agreed that the frame was severely corroded and presented a severe safety risk, but the district Honda representative said Honda will not warranty the defective frame nor offer any remedy for the related rear frame corrosion problem. The corrosion problem acknowledged in warranty 22V-430 could impair the safety and stability of the vehicle and put the driver and all passenger as well as other vehicles and pedestrians at risk if the wheel becomes unsecured. Until warranty 22V-430 was performed, there was no warning system alerting me to the safety issue and thus could have easily gone undetected. Since Honda is not taking responsibility for defect in the rear frame, I am seeking your help for this related rear frame corrosion problem. The contact owns a 2006 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated that while driving approximately driving 50 mph the vehicle suddenly lost power and stalled. After stopping to inspect under the hood the contact discovered transmission and radiator fluid spraying and leaking within the engine compartment. The contact sustained burns to the left arm from the hot fluids while inspecting under the hood. The injuries did not require medical treatment. The vehicle was towed away and later examined by an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the failure occurred due to the failed transmission lines that were located inside the radiator which caused the radiator and transmission to overheat. The contact was informed that both the transmission and radiator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The local dealer was not yet contacted. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 147,000.
I contacted the dealer on 9/21/22 regarding recall number 22V-430 and was told parts were ordered to complete the repair. I was given case number 13491172. I called several times and made a complaint with Honda Customer Service regarding the delay in having the repairs completed. As of today, 6/4/23, I am still waiting to have the repairs completed. It has been well past the 60 days from the date the dealer was first contacted. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
