TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND NOTICED THAT THE SUN ROOF HAD EXPLODED. GLASS PIECES SHATTERED INTO THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THE HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM DOES NOT PROVIDE ENOUGH AIR FLOW TO KEEP THE WINDSHIELD DEFROSTED IN THE WINTER OR REMOVE HUMIDITY IN THE SUMMER.
THIS IS THE 2ND TIME I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM. THE HEATER/BLOWER/VENT SYSTEM FAILED AND NO HOT AIR COMES OUT THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAR INCLUDING THE DEFROSTER WHICH IS DANGEROUS. IT TURNS OUT THAT THERE ARE CHEAP PLASTIC TEMPERATURE DOORS ON THE HEATING SYSTEM UNDER THE DASH THAT BREAK. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM ON 1999-2004 JEEPS WITH DUAL HEATING SYSTEMS. I HAD THIS REPAIR DONE AT 72,500 MILES AND NOW AGAIN AT 141,900 MILES. BOTH TIMES THE REPAIR WAS ABOUT $1500. THE REPAIRS WERE DONE ON NOV 9, 2009 AND DEC 2, 2015. I AM TAKING THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER TODAY BECAUSE THE AIR IS STILL NOT COMING OUT OF THE VENTS PROPERLY. I WAS CHECKING ABOUT RECALLS BEFORE I GO TO THE DEALER, AND I JUST FOUND THIS WEBSITE THAT DESCRIBES THE COMMON PROBLEM AND A LOW COST WAY TO FIX IT YOURSELF. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND MY DRIVERS WINDOW GRADUALLY STARTED SLIDING DOWN . AT THE TIME I WAS RUNNING THE AIR CONDITION .AND THE WINDOW STARTED SLOWLY COMING DOWN . BY THE TIME I GOT HOME THE WIDOW WAS COMPLETELY DOWN . MY HUSBAND TRIED TO PULL IT BACK UP AND AS HE DID THIS THE WINDOW BROKE RIGHT INTO HIS HANDS AND ALL OVER THE SEAT OF THE CAR. DUAL CLIMATE CONTROL BLEND DOORS HAVE BROKEN, A DEFECT IN DESIGN THAT AFFECTS ALL 1999-2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED MODELS. THERE IS NO HOT AIR AVAILABLE TO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CABIN, AND THE PASSENGER CLIMATE ADJUSTMENT IS INOPERATIVE. *TR
LIFT WITHIN WINDOW BROKE SPONTANEOUSLY WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH. WINDOW WOULD NOT STAY UP AND CABLES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. APPROXIMATELY 5-6 MONTHS LATER, A SECOND WINDOW HAD THE SAME ISSUE THIS TIME WHILE PARKED-ANOTHER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ON 10/20/2013 THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED TO A THIRD WINDOW WHILE IN REVERSE PULLING OUT OF DRIVING GOING NO MORE THAN 2 MPH-ANOTHER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I WAS INFORMED IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM BUT THAT THERE IS NO RECALL SO THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AT THIS TIME. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT WINDOW BECAME STUCK IN THE DOWN POSITION. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE WINDOW BY TAKING APART THE DOOR PANEL AND NOTICE THE WIRING TO THE REGULATOR WAS DAMAGED CAUSING THE ENTIRE REGULATOR TO MALFUNCTION. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE REGULATOR AND THEY STATED THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE CONTACT STATED THE REGULATOR MALFUNCTIONING WAS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH HER YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000.

I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE ALL 4 WINDOW REGULATORS BECAUSE OF A DEFECT. IT HAS COST ME OVER $1200.00 FOR ALL 4 TO BE REPLACED OVER TIME. IT SEEMS STRANGE TO ME THAT ALL 4 HAVE HAD TO BE REPLACED AND THE PART COST OVER $325.00 JUST FOR THE PARTS NOT COUNTING THE LABOR . THE WINDOW JUST SUDDENLY FALLS DOWN AND WILL NOT STAY ROLLED UP. I PURCHASED THIS CAR BRAND NEW AND IT HAS BEEN TAKEN VERY GOOD CARE OF. I WOULD LIKE TO BE RE-IMBURSED FOR ALL OF MY EXPENSED CONSIDERING THIS CANNOT BE A FLUKE SINCE ALL 4 HAVE HAD TO BE REPLACED AND NO ONE EVER SITS IN THE BACK SO IT HAS NOT BEEN WORN OUT FROM USE. WE HAVE A 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE THAT HAS HAD AN ONGOING FAILURE IN THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM. OVER 10 TIMES THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN INTO 2 DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP REPAIR FACILITIES TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND THERE HAS BEEN NUMEROUS PARTS REPLACED (BLENDING DOORS, VALVES ETC) AND THE FAILURE IS STILL THERE. THE A/C SYSTEM DOES NOT PRODUCE AIR AT THE TEMP THAT IS SELECTED, AND MOST OF THE TIME WILL BLOW HOT ON ONE SIDE AND COLD ON THE OTHER OR THE OTHER WAY AROUND. THE LAST TIME IT WAS IN THE DEALERSHIP THE MANAGER SAID THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG, AND WHEN MY WIFE DROVE THE VEHICLE WITH THE MANAGER, THERE WAS BURNING HOT AIR COMING OUT OF THE VENT, THE MANAGER SAID THAT WAS NORMAL. NOTHING THEY HAVE DONE HAS FIXED THE PROBLEMS AND WE ARE READY TO SUE THEM TO RECOUP OUR MONEY. *TR
