THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WIPERS RANDOMLY STOP WORKING WHILE IT IS RAINING OUT. THIS FIRST STARTED ABOUT A MONTH AGO. SOMETIMES THEY ARE FINE FOR TWENTY MINUTES, OTHER TIMES IT IS 5 MINUTES. THEY WILL COMPLETELY STOP WORKING AND FOLD BACK DOWN, AS IF I HAVE TURNED THEM OFF. IT HAS BEEN TAKEN TO SEARS ONCE, AND SPENT TWO DAYS AT THE JEEP DEALERSHIP AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO RECREATE IT. I THINK IT NEEDS TO BE DRIVEN ON THE HIGHWAY AND RAINING FOR IT TO HAPPEN, MAYBE THE FORCE OF THE WIND OR ROAD IS THE CAUSE. NO ONE CAN SEEM TO FIGURE IT OUT AND THEY DO NOT HAVE THE TECHNICAL SKILL TO RECREATE IT, I WAS TOLD THAT NOTHING CAN BE DONE AND TO BRING IT BACK WHEN IT HAPPENS .ALL THE COMPUTERS READ THAT THE WIPERS ARE FINE, YET THIS KEEPS HAPPENING. NOT BEING ABLE TO USE WIPERS FOR EVEN SECONDS IS DANGEROUS, AND I AM SCARED TO DRIVE NOW WHEN IT RAINS. I HAVE RECORDED VIDEO ON MY CELLPHONE OF IT HAPPENING, AND STILL IT IS NO USE BECAUSE THEY CAN NOT RECREATE IT. THIS IS A VERY STRESSFUL AND FRUSTRATING SITUATION, THAT COULD COST ME MY LIFE IF NOT ADDRESSED.
THE POWER SUNROOF CONTINUALLY LEAKS THROUGH THE DOME LIGHT AFTER HEAVY RAIN. *TR
AT ABOUT 15,000 MILES WE STARTED TO HERE "CLUNKING" WHEN DRIVING THE CAR, HAD IT IN SEVERAL TIMES FOR SUN ROOF LEAKS AND HAD THE DEALER TAKE A LOOK, BUT THEY COULD NEVER FIND ANYTHING. THIS WEEK HAD IT IN FOR THE 5-YEAR CHECK UP AND IN THE NOTES IT STATED THAT THE FRONT CONTROL ARMS ARE BAD. DID A SEARCH TO FIND OUT MORE DETAILS AND CAME ACROSS ALL THESE POSTS FROM OTHER USERS. LOOKS LIKE I'M NOW STUCK WITH A LARGE REPAIR, SIMILAR TO OTHER USERS, FOR SOMETHING THAT WAS AN ISSUE EARLY ON. ALL THE MILES HAVE BEEN HIGHWAY MILES. NOT AT ALL HAPPY RIGHT NOW. IF THEY WERE AWARE OF THE ISSUE EARLY ON, WHY WAS IT NOT FOUND AND REPAIRED DURING THAT WARRANTY PERIOD? *TR
THE DIALS ON THE DASHBOARD REGULATING HEAT/AIR-CONDITIONING, TEMPERATURE, AND FAN SPEED HEAT UP TO VERY WARM/HOT WHEN THE AIR-CONDITIONING IS ON AND WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE. THE DEALER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE SAID THIS IS COMMON ON JEEPS. I'M CONCERNED ABOUT THE POTENTIAL FOR A FIRE. *TR
SUNROOF LEAKS; DURING A CAR WASH OR A SIMPLE RAIN. WE HAVE HAD THE JEEP TO 2 DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS TO BE FIXED. FUNNY, THERE IS NO RECORD OF THEM FIXING THE PROBLEM, WHICH IS OBVIOUS SINCE IT'S STILL LEAKING. EACH TIME WE TOOK THE JEEP TO BE "FIXED" IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. NOW THAT IT'S NOT UNDER WARRANTY, IT'S LIKE PULLING NAILS JUST TO GET CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE TO CALL BACK AND OR EVEN ATTEMPT TO HELP. MY HUSBAND IS CONVINCED THAT SINCE THERE IS NO FIX TO THE LEAKING PROBLEM, THEY JUST "ATTEMPTED" TO REPAIR IT TO GET IT OUT OF WARRANTY. WELL, WE ARE NOT DONE YET!!!! *TR
10/16/2008 - PURCHASED NEW 2008 JEEP PATRIOT 04/01/2009 - DOME LEAK REPORTED TO DEALERSHIP - NO FINDINGS 11/03/2009 - DOME LEAK REPORTED TO DEALERSHIP - SEAL ON SUNROOF GLASS WAS REPLACED AND DRAINS WERE UNCLOGGED 03/14/2009 - DOME LEAK REPORTED TO DEALERSHIP - DRAINS WERE UNCLOGGED 11/18/2009 - DOME LEAK REPORTED TO DEALERSHIP - DRAINS WERE UNCLOGGED 07/23/2014 - DOME LEAK REPORTED TO DEALERSHIP - OUT OF WARRANTY - REFERRED TO CHRYSLER - REFERRED BACK TO DEALERSHIP. EVALUATION AND COST TO REPAIR THIS ON GOING ISSUE IS ON THE CUSTOMER. THERE ARE NUMEROUS REPORTS VIA THE INTERNET AND A LAW SUIT AGAINST CHRYSLER (FINDINGS UNKNOWN) FOR NOT NOTIFYING CUSTOMERS OF THE ISSUE. AS A CONSUMER AND OWNER, CHRYSLER, DEALERSHIPS AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENTS HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF THE ISSUE AND HAVE NOT FOUND A PERMANENT SOLUTION AND I WAS TOLD ON 7/24/2014, BY THE SERVICE STAFF AT THE DEALERSHIP NOT TO PURCHASE A VEHICLE WITH A SUNROOF. CHRYSLER SHOULD FIND A PERMANENT SOLUTION AND THE COST SHOULD NOT BE PLACED ON THE CONSUMER FOR THE REPAIR AND "MAINTENANCE" OF A KNOWN DESIGN PROBLEM WITH A WATER LEAKAGE IN THE DOME LIGHT, TO THE ELECTRICAL PARTS OF THE VEHICLE. *TR
WHEN DRIVING IN SNOW REAR OF VEHICLE BECOMES COVERED WITH SNOW OBSCURING TAIL LIGHTS, LICENSE PLATE. MANUFACTURER OFFERS AN AFTER MARKET REAR DEFLECTOR,THAT IS SUPPOSED TO HELP CORRECT PROBLEM. COST IS AROUND $200.00. *TR
