Break line and break system has been giving issues and failure has occur. To the point of almost causing an accident. Steering issues several times. Pick-up truck suspension since newer truck has had big issues. Please remediate.

THIS IS THE 5TH TIME MY BRAKES ARE HANGING UP AND OVER HEATING THE WHEEL. SMOKING SEVERLY. HAD PROBLEM WITH ABS. SYSTEM SO I UNPLUGGED SENSORS FROM FRONT WHEELS. AND ON THE 1ST THE RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE DID IT AGAIN. DOESN'T MATTER IF ON STATE HWY OR CITY STREETS. ALWAYS STARTS WHEN MOVING. A WOBBLE IN STEERING WHEEL. THEN PULLING RIGHT OR LEFT DEPENDING ON WHICH WHEEL IS LOCKING.
WHEN SLOWING DOWN TO STOP, WHILE AT LOW SPEED, USING THE BRAKES ENGAGES THE ABS SYSTEM AND STEERING BECOMES SUDDENLY DIFFICULT.
WHILE DRIVING ON A RURAL COUNTRY ROAD I SOUNDLY AND WITHOUT WARNONG LOST MY POWER BRAKES AND STEERING. . STEERING WAS VERY DIFFICULT AND BRAKES WERE ALMOST NOT FUNCTIONAL. I TOOK A GREAT EFFORT TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL AND APPLY THE BRAKES TO SAFELY STOP THE VEHICLE. IF I WAS TRAVELING IN TRAFFIC AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS I COULD NOT CONTROL AND SAFELY STOP THE VEHICLE.. I IMMEDIATELY PARKED THE VEHICLE AND HAD IT TOWED TO A NEARBY DEALERSHIP. THE POWER STEERING PUMP WAS REPLACED. SO THE POWER STEERING PUMP MALFUNCTIONED (BROKEN SHAFT) WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS UNDERWAY.. THE POWER STEERING MALFUNCTION AFFECTED BOTH THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES AND THERE WAS NO WARNING. I FEEL THIS IS A POOR DESIGN. MINIMALLY THERE SHOULD BE SOME SORT OF WARNING WHEN THE POWER STEERING AND OR POWER BRAKES ARE COMPROMISED. AS I UNDERSTAND IT THIS SAME ISSUE OCCURS WHEN THE SERPENTINE BELT FAILS. THE BELT WILL FAIL WHEN THE BELT TENSIONER DOES. AGAIN NO WARNING WHEN THIS OCCURS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE PIN IN THE PITMAN ARM SHEARED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CRANK SHAFT POSITION SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
WITHOUT WARNING AS I ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A TURN AT LOW SPEED JUST AFTER START UP OF THE ENGINE THE POWER STEERING FAILED. VEHICLE THEN REQUIRED BRUTE STRENGTH TURN TURN.WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT HOME AND GET REPAIRED BUT IF THIS HAD HAPPENED TO DAUGHTER OR WIFE THEY MIGHT NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO STEER VEHICLE BECAUSE OF STRENGTH REQUIRED. MY MECHANIC THAT REPAIRED VEHICLE STATED THAT HE HAS SEEN THIS OCCUR IN GM VANS BEFORE WITHOUT WARNING. SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE IMMEDIATE FAILURE OF POWER STEERING BOX. $362.00 REPAIR WITH LABOR. *TR
GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT APPROX 60 MILES PER HOUR. TRUCK TURNED OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. ALL ELECTRICAL APPEARS TO BE WORKING. OTHER TRUCKS WITH SAME MODEL YEAR HAD A RECALL UNDER GM RECALL NO. 06083. I HAVE THE SAME ENGINE BUT THEY SAY MINE IS NOT SUBJECT TO THE RECALL. *TR
MY 2001 CHEVY SILVERADO 2500HD WITH THE 8.1 ENGINE WILL STALL AT ANYTIME. IT HAS HAPPENED WHEN SITTING IDLE, TAKING OFF FROM A LIGHT, AND I'VE EVEN HAD IT HAPPEN DOING 50 MPH. I REFUSE TO LET SOMEONE BORROW MY TRUCK BECAUSE I'M AFRAID THEY WILL PANIC AND GET IN AN ACCIDENT. IT IS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS SINCE YOU LOSE POWER STEERING AND BASICALLY HAVE NO CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. ABOUT A WEEK BEFORE THE STEERING GOT HARD STEERING THE INSTRUMENTAL LITES CAME ON WHEN I WAS DRIVING, THEN WENT OFF THREE DIFFERENT TIMES, THEN I WAS BACKING UP AND TURNING FAIRLY SHARP TO THE RIGHT WHEN THE MOTOR DIED. I STARTED THE ENGINE BACK UP AND MY STEERING WAS HARD TO STEER. ALSO EVERY TIME I TURNED TO THE RIGHT THE TIRE SOUND LIKE THE TIRE RUB ON SOMETHING BUT I NEVER SEEN ANY RUB MARKS ANY WHERE. I DO THINK THAT IF I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY SERIOUS SITUATION. I HAVE CHECKED AND SEEN WHERE ALOT OF 2001 CHEVY SUBURBANS HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM AND I BELIEVE THIS IS SOMETHING THAT CHEVY SHOULD DEFINETLY RECALL AND CHECK NO MATTER HOW MANY MILES. *TT
TRAVELING AT 65 MPH BRAKES ALL OF A SUDDEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED W/O APPLYING THEM LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL ETC. EVALUATING THIS PROBLEM II SAW THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS GOING DOWN TO THE FLOOR, SO I PULLED UP ON IT WITH MY FOOT AND THE BRAKES RELEASED BUT STEERING CONTROL DID NOT RESUME. I GOT OFF AT THE NEXT EXIT AND VERY SLOWLY MADE MY WAY ON HOME. ANY APPLICATION OF THE BRAKE PEDAL RESULTED IN BRAKES LOCKING UP AND THEY WERE APPLIED SO TIGHTLY THAT ANY ACCELERATION COULD NOT SPEED UP UNLESS I PULLED UP ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. UPON ARRIVING HOME LOOKED THINGS OVER NO POWER STEERING UNLESS MOTOR WAS AT HIGH RPM,POWER STEERING PUMP LOOKED AS IF IT EXPELLED FLUID OUT THE BREATHER CAP AND THE BRAKES SMELLED AS IF VERY HOT. NOW THAT THIS HAPPENED I RECOGNIZED THIS HAD HAPPENED BEFORE BUT SOMEHOW REPAIRED ITSELF,BUT NOT TO THIS EXTREME. I SUFFERED BRUISES FROM SHOULDER HARNESS AND SEATBELT AND SOME KNOTS ON MY HEAD FROM BEING THROWN AROUND I CAME SO CLOSE TO OUT OF CONTROL AND A ROLLOVER SIMPLY COULDN'T CONTROL MY TRUCK. *TR
THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING DOWN A RAMP TO HIGHWAY 41. POWER BRAKES AND STEERING DID NOT WORK AS THE ENGINE WAS DEAD. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE CRANKED REPEATEDLY TO GET IT TO RESTART. THIS WAS THE FIRST INCIDENT THAT I REMEMBER, BUT IT HAPPENED AGAIN MANY TIMES OVER THE YEARS WITHOUT WARNING. FINALLY THIS YEAR AFTER SOME RESEARCH I FOUND THAT THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY A FAULTY CRANK POSITION SENSOR. I LEARNED THERE WAS A RECALL (NHTSA - EA06016) FOR THIS BUT GM SAID MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED BY IT EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THE SAME PROBLEM IDENTIFIED IN THE RECALL. I HAVE READ REPORTS OF OTHERS THAT HAD THE SAME FAILURE BUT GM HAS REFUSED TO FIX SAYING THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I BELIEVE THE RECALL SHOULD BE EXPANDED AS THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR WAS REPLACED AND THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN SOLVED. I HAVE THE OLD SENSOR IF NEEDED FOR TESTING.
THE VEHICLE WOULD EITHER STALL WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS OR FAIL TO START. I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH WHEN HE NOTICED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED EMPTY WHICH WAS INACCURATE; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED, COASTED TO THE SHOULDER. CAR WOULD NOT CRANK AT FIRST BUT THEN STARTED, THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES, THE VEHICLE WOULD SPORADICALLY BECOME HESITANT TO START. THE VEHICLE WOULD ALSO STALL PERIODICALLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE OTHER COMPONENTS, SUCH AS THE RADIO, WERE STILL OPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WOULD SPORADICALLY BECOME HESITANT TO START. THE VEHICLE WOULD ALSO STALL PERIODICALLY WITHOUT WARNING. AUTORIDE SUSPENSION, NOT WORKING. HARSH RIDE WITHOUT SHOCK DAMPERING. FRONT PASSENGER SEATBELT FREQUENTLY LOCKS UP AND WILL NOT EXTEND ENOUGH TO SECURE A PERSON. SEAT BELT OFTEN LOCKS UP WHEN PASSENGER IS BELTED IN AND PASSENGER CANNOT MOVE. *TR
