This page combines three types of NHTSA data: recall campaigns (official manufacturer or government actions), owner complaints (unverified consumer reports), and crash test ratings (where available). A vehicle with many complaints is not necessarily less reliable — complaint volume correlates with sales volume and vehicle age. Recalls indicate identified defects, not overall quality. To compare this model year with others, use the year navigation in the sidebar or return to the model overview page.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.
Remedy Status
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the software, and perform a software flash on the engine or powertrain control module, free of charge. The recall began June 4, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Note: Owners are advised to stop using cruise control until the software update has been performed. In the event that cruise control cannot be disengaged while driving, owners should firmly and steadily apply the brakes and shift the transmission to neutral, placing the vehicle in park once it has stopped.
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2017 Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 vehicles equipped with all-wheel drive (AWD). The front driveshaft bolts may loosen and allow the front driveshaft to disconnect, potentially causing a loss of motive power.
Remedy Status
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace all eight front driveshaft bolts, free of charge. The recall began April 7, 2017. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is T03.

This is the 2nd failure of the thermostat. We had the car towed to the same Chrysler dealer that fixed the first incident. We have an extended warranty that covered the first failure. This second failure is not covered due to the failed part is a mopar part and Chrysler is going to pay for everything, trouble is they have had my wife’s car for two weeks already and the part isn’t coming in until February 17, I am a 34 year retired Chrysler employee. The dealer doesn’t offer rentals, and my extended warranty people offer rentals at $35 a day and only one week. Nowhere rents cars at that price. We have no choice but to wait on that part, but I am wondering how many chrysler products have had this problem, should be investigated for recall.
Center console with touch screen delaminating screen cover causing random and continuous malfunctions to navigation, heating/cooling climate controls, media (radio, hands-free telephone, and numerous uconnect software applications), and rear backup camera function. Potential for serious distraction and loss of multiple safety components like change lane warning systems, anti swerve technology, etc.
The control screen in the front center of the vehicle is not working. Backup camera, radio, AC/heat, Blutooth, navigation, nothing works and the screen will black out. It is a safety hazard driving as the screen will click and make loud noises.
The uconnect 8.4 radio navigation can't find a satellite to operate properly. Also the screen is delaminating and making it so selected buttons don't work. Since this is an information and entertainment system that controls everything, including radio, navigation, and hand-free phoning, temperature of the seating, it causes a huge distraction while driving. And the gps not working causes location problems. I believe this also is how the company can find the vehicle if lost. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership and they can do an update but also state that the this could cause the entire system might not work at all afterwards. Not guarantee that this won't cause more harm than good. As many of these systems that have this problem, there should be a recall to fix this.
The vehicle's LCD screen has become delaminated which causes the control of the radio, air conditioning, navigation, and other features controlled by the "radio" portion of the car to become dysfunctional. The car will randomly beep, change air temperatures, start navigation, cause the loss of hands-free communication. This is a safety hazard as it causes the driver to be distracted in order to attend to the incessant beeping and issues related to AC/heat, navigation or radio (volume, etc.). This appears from Chrysler Forums to be an issue among a large group of Chrysler 300 Year Model 2018 owners. I am encouraging them to file a concern with your group and to ask for a recall of the car for this reason.
The oil cooler is plastic why when it holds oil and when it heats up that makes plastic expand then cools and makes it decompress. This is done over and over again, of coarse this will cause a major repair job. That the owner should not have to expense out of pocket because we did not design the car. Also this defect is not aware until you years into owning the vehicle. This is crazy and we need a recall. I was at Firestone getting alignment and was told i have a issuse brewing.
Over the last month I noticed that my brakes would feel funny sometimes, like they were going to just grab suddenly vs stopping slowly. Then yesterday, 2/27/24, I received a warning that my ESC and ABS systems needed service and that I no longer had AWD capability. The message would stay on for several minutes, then shut off for several minutes, then come back on again.
airbag deployed during fender bender. had driving leg forward and left leg bent at 90 degree angle. When airbag deployed it hit right leg full force and basically exploded the bones. Almost lost my leg. Permanently disabled
The steering alert when off, The steering locked up in mid drive on interstate on several occasions. We took to dealer and to Haigler Automotive and no one could find out why the power steering locked up. The code only reads communication error. We have paid $2000. For diagnostic and repairs that they thought was related but it still losing communication to the car. We have less than 88000 miles on auto. We have owned the auto for three years. We can not afford another auto and need an auto for doctor visits. This auto was purchased based on ability to get I. And out of auto based on disability.

1) Going 25mph to 55mph the car started shaking. 2) I stopped at the Performance Dodge / Chrysler dealer for an evaluation of the situation. 3) Diagnosis was a loose Drive Shaft which can fall at any time. 4) $1980 for the Drive Shaft and $477 Labor. 5) It is a very unsafe situation, and the vehicle has 65,000 miles.
The vehicle components started failing first with lighting and electrical malfunctions. Due to the concerns I was on the way to the mechanic on 9/16/23 when the air bags deployed on the passengers side without any impact. The Vehicle is at Chrysler dealer on central avenue Albany, NY and available for inspection. I had just dropped off my grandchildren this could have severely had a horrible impact had they been in car. Not to mention it scared me, I was not sure what was happening. I was scared to get back in the car. I was driving on interstate this is scary for anyone driving with no visibility. Chrysler currently has the vehicle since 9/19/23. I have reached out to dealer and Chrysler Corporate office with no result. They always say they will get back to me. Unless I reach out they do not respond. Claim # [XXX] with Chrysler corporation. They vehicle has been inspected by manufacturer James Brozovich on 10/26/23 works with Bosch automotive service solutions Work #(734)979-5827 Cell # (586)215-8547. The radio would blink in and out and if radio worked headlights did not work. If headlights worked radio and dashboard light did not work. Air bag light and engine light came on one time when on the way to the shop. Vehicle was on the way to shop due to electrical concerns.
