This page combines three types of NHTSA data: recall campaigns (official manufacturer or government actions), owner complaints (unverified consumer reports), and crash test ratings (where available). A vehicle with many complaints is not necessarily less reliable — complaint volume correlates with sales volume and vehicle age. Recalls indicate identified defects, not overall quality. To compare this model year with others, use the year navigation in the sidebar or return to the model overview page.

Vehicle suddenly stalled at a red light and did not turn back on. Everything shut down. Also The factory-installed backup camera has failed completely. When the vehicle is shifted into reverse, the infotainment screen remains blank or black. This failure significantly reduces rearward visibility, creating a severe safety risk for pedestrians and property, Also not allowing access to temp control, radio, phone, cruise control, etc.
Date: February 22, 2026 VIA CERTIFIED MAIL FCA US LLC Customer Care P.O. Box 21-8004 Auburn Hills, MI 48321-8004 RE: FORMAL COMPLAINT – Safety Defect (Rearview Camera Failure) Vehicle 1: 2012 Chrysler 300S (VIN: [XXX] ) Vehicle 2: 2018 Chrysler 300S (VIN: [XXX] ) To the Chrysler Customer Care Team: I am a loyal, multi-vehicle Chrysler owner currently residing in San Diego County. I am writing to formally report a persistent and dangerous safety defect affecting both of my Chrysler 300S vehicles. Description of Defect: In both vehicles, the factory-installed backup camera has failed completely. When the vehicles are shifted into reverse, the infotainment screen remains blank or black. This failure significantly reduces rearward visibility, creating a severe safety risk for pedestrians and property, especially given the known blind spots of the 300S model. Legal and Safety Context: As you are aware, Chrysler has issued multiple recent recalls (including Recall 24V-436) regarding rearview camera software failures. Furthermore, for the 2018 model, Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 111 mandates a functional rear visibility system. The identical failure across two different model years suggests a fundamental defect in the camera hardware or wiring harnesses used in this vehicle line. Requested Resolution: As a long-term supporter of the Chrysler brand, I am requesting a Goodwill Repair for both vehicles. I ask that Chrysler authorize a local authorized dealer in San Diego (Chula Vista/National City) to inspect and repair these camera systems at no cost to me. Please respond to this request in writing within 10 business days. I have also opened a report with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to document these failures. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The vehicle's LCD screen has become delaminated which causes the control of the radio, air conditioning, navigation, and other features controlled by the "radio" portion of the car to become dysfunctional. The car will randomly beep, change air temperatures, start navigation, cause the loss of hands-free communication. This is a safety hazard as it causes the driver to be distracted in order to attend to the incessant beeping and issues related to AC/heat, navigation or radio (volume, etc.). This appears from Chrysler Forums to be an issue among a large group of Chrysler 300 Year Model 2018 owners.
Head light assembly quit working, i.e no headlight in Decemeber 2024. I had the unit replaced, paid $1448.40 for part, 299.92 for labor to replace the complete headlight assembly. It is now June 2025, and it has failed again. It is unsafe to drive when the headlights don't work, and Stelantis and the dealer seem unable to fix the problem, and I do not feel that I should have to pay another cent on a safety feature as essential as a headlight assembly that doesn't work!
The Uconnect 3.4 screen is delaminating, causing the screen to have “Phantom Touches.” Infotainment will call 911 and will change Important safety features that “Stellantis” made only accessible in your infotainment. The delamination is causing a safety issue.

Chrysler needs to recall this issue. Many people are having this same screen issue. Chrysler, Please do something about this. This has been known to be a safety issue, as when it gets bad enough, the screen will black out. Delamination on screens has been known to cause the screen to black out, especially during backing, and buttons will randomly be pushed. Chrysler, recall this issue. Thank you.
My vehicle only has 29k miles on it and just failed safety inspection because the Rear Drive Shaft Bearing is broken.
There was a recall on this vehicle in 2018 for a Powertrain Control Module or PCM. The problem has arisen again. How do I correct this issue
The door paneling has warped on all 4 doors of the car. I purchased the car a year ago from a Lexus dealership here in Tucson I am concerned about safety of my airbags in the car doors
The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler 300. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V198000 (Air Bags); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Passenger headlight assembly stopped working. This is a dealer only part and will cost me over $2000 to. Fix when they get one in stock! This could be months, I have to drive with one headlight because one is dead and Chrysler has no parts.
There’s been some sort of liquid in the tv screen for a while but now the tv does what it wants, makes random phone calls, changes radio stations, it just glitches all crazy pushing random buttons or just doesn’t work at all
Malfunction of display LCD screen has become delaminated causing loss of hands free communication, navigation, temperature controls, & settings. LCD screen sporadically goes off & on without being able to control display causing a beeping sound as it randomly jumps between screen settings.

Touch screen is malfunctioning EVERYTHING. My climate can't be controlled-- have the heat on in the morning for example then come out from work and it's 100 degrees and i can't change it so ride home with heat blowing in 100 degree heat. Back up camera not operating sometimes, its scrolling thru the contacts and calling people randomly. Stops GPS randomly. It's very distracting and dangerous!
Chrysler Model 300s Vehicle, 2018, repair service by an authorized Chrysler dealer in Puerto Rico, certified the replacement of original manufacturer parts of the power steering (Rack-Pinion) on three occasions, which does not accept the programming of technical support by the automotive specialists of the authorized Chrysler repair shop. It is evident that this vehicle faces a hidden problem from the manufacturer which had not been detected until now. Diagnosis could not replace the part because the programming defect by the manufacturer was not found. It is important to start an investigation into the power steering known as (Rack-Pinion), it is working correctly for the driver's safety to drive safely on the roads without this defect, which could not be corrected by the automotive technicians authorized by Chrysler in Puerto Rico, causing an accident.
