TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GMC ENVOY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH IN THE SNOW, THE CONTACT SKIDDED ACROSS A BLOCK OF ICE AND CRASHED THE VEHICLE INTO A CURB. THE VEHICLE SPUN AROUND BEFORE STOPPING. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED AN INJURY THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DAMAGED; HOWEVER, AN UNUSUAL SOUND WAS HEARD. PRIOR TO THE CRASH, THE REAR AXLE DROPPED VERY LOW AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO RIDE BUMPY. WHENEVER A BUMP WAS STRUCK, WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE CONTACT'S HEAD STRUCK THE ROOF, CAUSING NECK AND BACK PAIN. THE CONTACT CALLED LKL MOTORS AT 253-466-7222 (LOCATED AT 6204 112TH ST E, PUYALLUP, WA 98373), WHICH WAS WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NORMAL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 167,000.
TAKATA RECALL ? AIR RIDE SUSPENSION FAILURE, OVER INFLATION RESULTING IN A EXCESSIVE BOUNCING RIDE AND LOSS OF TRACTION ON OTHER SITES I SEE THAT THIS WAS A 92% COMPLAIN RATE
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE WITH NEW TIRES ON IT. EXCESSIVE TIRE WEAR WAS STARTING ON THE DRIVERS SIDE TIRE BEFORE THE YEAR MARK OF ME PURCHASING IT. THERE WAS NO RECALLS OPEN ON THAT TIME THAT WE COULD FIND. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE FOG LIGHTS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. IT HAD ELECTRICAL SHORT THAT NO ONE SEEMED TO FIND AND THERE WAS NO WAY TO LOCATE WITHOUT EXPENSIVE DIAGNOSTIC TIME. WHEN I WENT TO THE DEALER ABOUT RECALLS THEY INFORMED ME THE ONLY OPEN WAS A WINDOW SWITCH. AFTER A FRONT END ACCIDENT AT 30 MPH THE TIRE BLEW OUT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE ON IMPACT. I WAS INFORMED IN MY ESTIMATE THAT THERE WAS A OPEN RECALL WHICH COULD LEAD TO INCORRECT RIM SELECTION / TIRES FOR THE CAR CAUSING AIR LEAKAGE AND POSSIBLE ACCIDENT. IF I HAD KNOWN THIS BEFORE HAND MAYBE THIS COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED!
WHILE DRIVING, IN PITCH BLACK DARKNESS ON 6/10/2016 AROUND 1:00 AM, MY HEADLIGHTS SUDDENLY WENT OFF. THE ONLY WAY I COULD OBTAIN LIGHTS WAS USING THE HIGH BEAMS. LOW BEAMS DO NOT WORK AND HIGH BEAM ONLY WORKS IN MANUAL ON/OFF MODE. WE CHECKED THE LAMPS AND FUSES. ALL ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. I HAVE NO LIGHTS WHILE DRIVING OR IN PARK. THE SIDE VIEW MIRRORS MOVE ON THERE OWN AND AT ANY TIME, WHILE DRIVING , IN PARK AND WHEN THE CAR IS NOT RUNNING. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE THE DOOR PANEL RECALL WAS REPAIRED. THE DEALER HAS INFORMED ME THAT THERE IS NO RECALL ON THAT EITHER. LAST YEAR (2015) I HAD TO REPLACE THE AIRBAGS (SUSPENSION) ON BOTH REAR WHEELS. THE CAR WOULD DROP DOWN LOWER THAN ANY MID SIZE CAR. ONCE STARTED THE BAGS WOULD INFLATE BUT THE CAR MAY DROP AT ANY GIVE TIME WHILE DRIVING. GM DID NOT COVER THIS COST AND THE DEALER WANTED OVER $1200.00 TO REPAIR. PRIOR TO THAT THE GAS GAUGE QUIT WORKING. WHICH GM DID COVER THE REPAIR COST BUT I NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL. I JUST HAPPENED TO BE AT THE DEALER FOR THE DRIVER DOOR RECALL AND MENTIONED IT.
INFLATOR STOPPED WORKING, AIR BAG BLEW OUT WHILE ON FREEWAY!
TAKATA RECALL I HAVE HAD TO MAKE MANY REPAIRS ON THIS VEHICLE. HOWEVER, NOW THE LIFTERS IN THE ENGINE COLLAPSED. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS ABOUT 87,000 MILES ON IT. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS VEHICLE AND THE LIFTERS COLLAPSING. WE ARE A ONE INCOME FAMILY AND THE REPAIRS TO THIS VEHICLE ARE ASTRONOMICAL. WELL OVER 3500.00 DOLLARS. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVABLE AND HAS BEEN SITTING FOR A YEAR NOW AT MY MECHANICS. THE VEHICLE IS OF NO USE TO ME AND HAS BECOME A HUGE PAPER WEIGHT NOW. THE WORST PART IS I STILL OWE ON THE VEHICLE TOO. GM NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND DO A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE FOR THE AFM LIFTERS, OR PAY FOR THE REPAIRS TO THIS VEHICLE. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER GM PRODUCT AGAIN. OWN UP TO YOUR MISTAKES AND TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THIS PROBLEM. I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO. I WAS TRAVELING OVER A BRIDGE ON RAMP FROM ONE INTERSTATE FRWY TO ANOTHER .GOT TO CURVE ON BRIDGE AND HAD TO ABRUPTLY PUT THE BRAKES ON I FELT A SNAP IN BRAKE PEDAL THEN NO BRAKES AS I GOT OFF THE CURVE AND RELEASED BRAKE THE BRAKES ARE FINE BUT NOW I GET A BAD SHAKING IN FRONT WHEN SPEEDS OF 65 AND OVER LIKE THE TIRES ARE WOBBLING .I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED AND THE FIRST DAY ENGINE BLEW .THEY SAY IT WAS A REBUILD I FEEL SO RIPPED OFF .ALSO THE TIRE WARMING LIGHTS ARE AND SOMETIMES OFF .PLEASE HELP ME. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE REAR END AND THE AIR SUSPENSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2006 GMC ENVOY XL 370. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ABS WARNING LAMP ILLUMINATED, WHICH INDICATED A MALFUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPLICATE OR DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT ALSO INDICATED THAT THERE WAS A NOISE EMITTING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE ASSOCIATED WITH THE WHEEL HUBS AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP. THE MECHANIC INDICATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE WHEEL HUB WAS DEFECTIVE AND THAT BOTH FRONT WHEEL HUBS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER DID NOT REMEDY THE FAILURE WITH THE WHEEL HUBS. IN ADDITION, THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO WORK. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 13V248000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, VISIBILITY) AND 14V755000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING); HOWEVER, THE PARTS NEEDED WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. WHILE TRAVELING OVER 70 MPH, THE FRONT TWO WHEELS FRACTURED WITHOUT WARNING AND THE DRIVER WAS EJECTED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVER RECEIVED MEDICAL ASSISTANCE, BUT SUSTAINED FATAL INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NO REMEDY. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,000.
THE REAR END BEGAN DEFLATING AFTER SITTING OVERNIGHT. AT FIRST IT WOULD AIR BACK UP WHEN STARTED IMMEDIATELY. THEN IT BEGAN TO TAKE A LONG TIME TO AIR BACK UP. IT RECENTLY BEGAN DEFLATING ALL OF THE TIME, EVEN WHEN DRIVING. NOW IT WILL NOT AIR UP AT ALL. THE MOTOR RUNS BUT NOTHING HAPPENS. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN SERVICED BY THE DEALERSHIP TO NO AVAIL. EACH TIME, THERE IS SOME NEW REPLACEMENT PART THAT MUST BE PURCHASED. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD RECALL THIS VEHICLE. *TR
I HAVE LOOKED INTO THIS ISSUE AND THERE ARE 1,000'S OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE I HAVE. MY AIRBAGS GO LOW OVER NIGHT AND UNDER 32 DEGREES DON'T PUMP UP AT ALL. I WORK 26 MILES AWAY AND TRAVEL TO WORK RIDING ON MY FRAME. MY BODY IS JARRED AND MY TRUCK IS GETTING BEATEN BECAUSE THE AIR RIDE SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. REAR AIR SHOCKS THAT BLED DOWN AFTER SITTING FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME. TOOK TO DEALER FOR EVALUATION AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE AIR SHOCKS NEEDED REPLACEMENT. WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT NORMALLY THE AIR COMPRESSOR IS REPLACED ALSO BECAUSE IT IS THE CAUSE OF THE LEAKING. I DECIDED COST WAS TOO GREAT SO I CHOSE TO ADD SPRINGS IN PLACE OF REAR AIR SHOCKS AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE AIR COMPRESSOR WOULD CONTINUE TO FUNCTION. NOW THE AIR COMPRESSOR DOES NOT WORK, TOOK BACK TO DEALER TO FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS AND WAS INFORMED THAT ONCE THE REAR AIR SHOCKS ARE REMOVED THE AIR COMPRESSOR IS DISABLED. *KB

THE REAR AIR SUSPENSION BAGS GAVE OUT IN 2010, THE VEHICLE WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY SO I TOOK MY SUV TO GET REPAIRED AT WYATT JOHNSON, I ONLY PAID THE DEDUCTIBLE OF $150. IN JAN OF 2012 I NOTICED THAT THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE WAS TAKING A LONG TIME TO AIR UP AND I ASSUMED THE SAME PROBLEM THAT OCCURRED IN 2010 WAS OCCURRING AGAIN. ON OCT 2012 I TOOK MY SUV TO GREINER BUICK GMC DEALERSHIP IN VICTORVILLE, CA AND WAS TOLD THE REAR AIR SHOCK HAD WENT OUT AGAIN AND THE REPAIRS WOULD COST ABOUT 1600, THE DEALERSHIP IS WILLING TO PAY THE COST AND I WILL HAVE TO COME OUT OF POCKET $785. I CALLED GM MOTORS BECAUSE THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT EVEN AFTER I GET IT REPAIR THIS IS AN ITEM THAT I WILL HAVE TO KEEP AN EYE ON AS LONG AS I HAVE THE SUV. WHEN I WAS SOLD THE VEHICLE THE SALES MAN SPOKE VERY HIGHLY OF THE AIR LIFT AND I WAS NEVER AWARE OF THE PROBLEMS AND HEAD ACHE THAT COULD OCCUR FROM HAVING A VEHICLE WITH THIS FEATURE. CONSUMER WRITES STATES GAS NEEDLE STOPPED FUNCTIONING *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE GAS NEEDLE BEGAN TO FLUCTUATE IN THE BEGINNING AND SINCE THAT TIME, THE NEEDLE HAS BEEN STUCK ON EMPTY, AND THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AS A RESULT. IN MARCH OF 2009, WHEN THE CONSUMER STARED THE VEHICLE, IT SOUNDED AS IF THERE WAS SOMETHING METAL TUMBLING AROUND UNDER THE HOOD. UPON INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE, IT WAS DETERMINED THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ON JUNE 10, 2010, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALER. AN INSPECTION REVEALED A STARTER WAS NEEDED. ALSO, AN ALIGNMENT WAS DONE AND THE REAR BRAKE LIGHT WAS REPLACED. ON JUNE 12, 2010, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT COME OUT OF PARK. AFTER 25 MINUTES AND OVER 50 ATTEMPTS, IT FINALLY CAME OUT OF PARK. THE CONSUMER DROVE TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND A PROBLEM. SEPTEMBER 2010, THE CONSUMER NOTICED THE REAR OF THE TRUCK WAS SITTING VERY LOW. THE REAR END AIR SUSPENSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE AIR CONDITION RANDOMLY WORKED. THERE WERE TIMES WHERE THE AIR WOULD JUST START BLOWING AND NO BUTTONS WERE PUSHED. ALSO, THE DEFROSTER STOPPED WORKING. THE CONSUMER CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE NOT COMING OUT OF PARK. *JB
1. STARTED WITH HORN HONKING ON ITS OWN, RADIO TURNING ON AND OFF AND HEATING AND COOLING TURNING ON AND OFF AND BATTERY BEING DRAINED. DEALER REPLACED 2 BATTERIES. 2. STABILITRAK WARNING LIGHT WOULD INTERMITTENTLY COME ON AND SAY IT NEEDED SERVICED. 3. GAS GAUGE STARTED MALFUNCTIONING AFTER A FILL UP. NEEDLE WOULD FLUCTUATE AND EVENTUALLY REMAIN ON E. WAS TOLD BY DEALER IT WAS EITHER THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR OR INSTRUMENT PANEL. 4. VEHICLE STARTED TO JERK FORWARD WHEN SITTING AT STOP LIGHT. JERKS ARE STRONG ENOUGH THAT YOU FEEL LIKE YOU WERE REAR ENDED. THEN STARTED NOTICING THE JERKS WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED. 5. OIL GAUGE BEGAN FLUCTUATING FROM HIGH TO LOW. WAS AGAIN TOLD IT WAS A BAD INSTRUMENT PANEL .6. REAR AIR SUSPENSION BEGAN DEFLATING WHEN VEHICLE WOULD SIT FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME. LOW ENOUGH THAT TIRES ALMOST TOUCH TOP OF WHEEL WELL. COMPRESSOR WOULD COME ON AND REAR END WOULD COME BACK UP TO NORMAL. NOW IT DEFLATES OVER SHORT PERIODS OF TIME AND TAKES A CONSIDERABLY LONGER AMOUNT OF TIME TO REINFLATE. I AM NOW NOTICING THAT IT IS DEFLATING SOME WHILE DRIVING. IF YOU HIT A BUMP YOU CAN FEEL THE TIRE HIT THE TOP OF WHEEL WELL. DEALER COULD NOT EXPLAIN THE JERKING. WAS TOLD THERE WAS PROBABLY AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM CAUSING THINGS TO COME ON AND OFF. FUEL GAUGE IS BEING REPLACED FREE AS A DEFECTIVE PART. WAS TOLD REAR SUSPENSION WAS MOST LIKELY A DEAD COMPRESSOR AND TIRES COULD POSSIBLY RUB OR BLOW OUT IF SUSPENSION DEFLATES WHILE DRIVING. *TR
