This page combines three types of NHTSA data: recall campaigns (official manufacturer or government actions), owner complaints (unverified consumer reports), and crash test ratings (where available). A vehicle with many complaints is not necessarily less reliable — complaint volume correlates with sales volume and vehicle age. Recalls indicate identified defects, not overall quality. To compare this model year with others, use the year navigation in the sidebar or return to the model overview page.

Engine, check engine. Light comes on and traction turns off and stability Tr A. K turns off while I'm driving, which is very dangerous now. The engine also has a very loud clicking. Ticking sound I'm not sure where it's coming from. But when I drive begins to get louder, and my traction turns off while on The highway or any road going over it?Twenty miles an hour, which is extremely dangerous on texas roads.
Radio display not working Third row seat won't disengage because of the cable wire being stretched out. Can't remove third row seat. Rear hatch leaking water severely No accident, bought car from Causley GMC in 2024 in Michigan
While driving the vehicle it randomly looses engine function decreasing speed rapidly. The check engine light comes on and it says engine power reduced along with traction-off and stabilitrak- off. There was a safety recall 14V-614 that pertains to the chassis electronic module. I have had multiple shops look at the problem the last being a GMC dealer who replaced the accelerator pedal for the 2nd time but did not fix the issue. This issue began in early 2024 and vehicle has sat in driveway not being driven every since.
Rear Lower control mounts completely rusted out allowing the rear to move back and the driveshaft to come out of the transmission. Fortunately, this happened 1 block from home at a stop sign, if it occurred on a highway, it would have caused a major accident and likely injuries. Complete frame is rusted to the point of failure, heard from others that this has happened to other makes of GM products, Tahoe, Chevy pickup trucks. They likely all share the same frame.
While driving, the vehicle display screen and lights start turning off and on. The warning lamp says " service trailer brake system" and the vehicle is unable to accelerate at all. Leaving me at a stand still in the middle of the road. It's a safely hazard because it happens suddenly and without warning and I am unable to move my vehicle so I'm just in the middle of the road. I haven't taken it in to the dealership yet. I looked online and there is a recall called " chassis electronic control module internal contamination" that meets the description of what's going on here, but when I called GMC they said there is no recall for my specific Vin, even though the recall is for my make model and year.
The contact owns a 2014 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that on four separate occasions, while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was restarted after 10 minutes on the first occasion but started a lot sooner during the later failures. Additionally, the contact stated that at the last failure, while idling at a red light, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to a dealer; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 192,150.
Takata Recall. The contact owns a 2014 GMC Yukon. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V054000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
State Farm is investigating the accident to see what, if anything, malfunctioned in my braking system. I ran a red light but when I pressed the brake upon approach of the red light my brakes didn't catch and so when I pressed them, I kept going at the same speed. I was going between 30 and 40 miles per hour I believe. Three cars were involved. I have a sore neck, chest, and burn marks in my neck region. I suspect my truck will be totalled. We performed routine maintenance on the vehicle. It had a little over 100K miles on it at the time of this wreck. There is not a recall on braking for 2014 models, but I see there is one for 2015.
The contact owns a 2014 GMC Yukon XL. The contact stated upon picking up the vehicle after the recall repair of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V054000 (Air Bags), she noticed that the dashboard was severely damaged. The contact stated that the driver's side of the dashboard had a hole as big as the palm of her hand. The contact stated that the passenger side of the dashboard where the air bag was located had two cracks that extended to the area where the passenger's side air bag was located. The contact stated that the dashboard was making rattling sounds while driving. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 159,800.
Purchased new 2014 Yukon Denali in February 2015. Currently have 66,000 miles. September 2022: professional repair of the dashboard performed. Separation began June 2022. Separation of dash became larger, 2" to be exact, then the cracks appeared. Then it became noisy with rattling. According to the repair shop this is a common occurrence in some GM vehicles. GMC does not acknowledge this as a recall. February 5, 2021, our passenger side airbag was replaced by a certified GM/Chevrolet Dealership due to recall. Apparently, removal and replacement of airbag can weaken the dashboard. This is an issue I will advise GM of, whether or not it will make any difference.
Takata Recall. The contact owns a 2014 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that the front passenger’s seat air bag warning light failed to illuminate randomly with or without a seated passenger. The contact stated that he received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V054000 (Air Bags) in February of 2021. The dealer was contacted however, it was stated that the parts were not available to complete the recall repair. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

FOULED SPARK AND EXCESSIVE DEPOSIT FORMATION IN THE PISTON RING GROOVES ALONG WITH EXCESSIVE ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION. THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE OF NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR ON THE VEHICLE, BUT IS RATHER A KNOWN ISSUE DUE TO DESIGN DEFECTS WITH THE PCV SYSTEM, WHICH HAS NOT BEEN ADEQUATELY ADDRESSED BY THE MANUFACTURER. TSB 10-06-01-008M ADDRESSES THIS EXACT CONDITION. GMC HAS ADVISED ON THE APPROPRIATE CORRECTIVE ACTIONS TO ADDRESS THE ISSUES, BUT STILL REQUIRES CUSTOMERS TO BEAR THE COSTS OF CORRECTING THE DEFECT.
