Recall repair for Chrysler recall W09 did not work. Airbag emblem still peeled from steering wheel. In event that drivers airbag deploys the emblem would be launched at the drivers face which could cause injury.
My vehicle was involved in a bad accident on September 1, 2023. The Air Bags FAILED TO DEPLOY! As a result, my Daughter sustained injuries. My insurance company is chomping at the bit to crush it! They have already totaled it. They don't care that someone needs to investigate this accident and find out WHY THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY! GEICO is my insurance company. I want it checked out so that if there is a problem maybe you can issue some kind of recall. Please move with the utmost speed to beat the car to the crusher! Thank you!
My wife had a collision with another vehicle. She rear ended a pick up truck. The airbags deployed sending a retainer from the driver side airbag into her cheek. The piece was embedded in her cheek from Dec 27 2022 until Jan 17 2023. She saw two doctors about the issue they thought she had a bump from the airbag deploying and a small cut. No one thought twice about it. On Jan 17 2023 she went to prompt care and told them she thinks there was something embedded they agreed and told her to contact a surgeon. The referral was placed for a surgeon however on the evening of Jan 17 2023 she scratched the scab and then the scab fell off and the little snap like retainer fell out.
There was no recall. It was an extended warranty sent to owners. We are the 2nd owner. Never recieved it. It is active head restraint x91. We spoke to chrysler they say the expiration was 11/11/2021. This is a hazard. The airbag is in the headrest. With it broken if the car us in an accident the headrest will impale the passenger. Chrysler knows this is a problem but will not extend the warranty for this issue. My vehicle is a 2010 chrysler town and country. The mileage is only 27,000. This should be covered.
My clock spring went out which causes the air bag light to stay on and now my air bags do not work. It had been confirmed by the dealership. And it happened 3/2022
I HAVE RECEIVED TWO LETTERS FROM FCA US LLC. THE FIRST INDICATED THAT A PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAG'S THE LOGO, WHEN DEPLOYED, COULD CAUSE INJURY. THE SECOND, JUST RECEIVED, STATES; 'WE ARE EXTENDING THE ACTIVE RESTRAINT WARRANTY PERIOD BECAUSE SOME VEHICLES MAY EXPERIENCE INADVERTENT DEPLOYMENT(EMPHASIS MINE) OF ONE OR BOTH OF THE FRONT SEAT ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT(S). THIS, IN MY OPINION, MEANS THAT I AM DRIVING A VEHICLE THAT HAS TWO BOMBS ON BOARD THAT COULD DETONATE AT ANYTIME. THIS IS HUGE SAFTEY ISSUE FOR MY FAMILY, ESPECIALLY IF THE VEHICLE IS TRANSIT IN A HIGH SPEED DRIVING ENVIRONMENT. FCA NEEDS TO BE REQUIRED TO DISABLE THIS 'SAFETY SYSTEM' SO THAT THE VEHICLE CAN BE SAFELY USED WHILE PARTS ARE ORDERED TO REPLACE THIS DANGEROUS CONDITION. THE POTENTIAL FOR THE LOST OF LIFE BY AN INADVERTENT DEPLOYMENT COULD RESULT IN A SERIOUS LOSS OF LIFE IN A HIGH SPEED, CONGESTED ENVIRONMENT. WHO WOULD BE HELD LIABLE FOR SUCH A SCENARIO? FCA, OR THE PEOPLE WHO CONTINUED TO DRIVE THEIR VEHICLES AFTER HAVING BEEN NOTIFIED OF THIS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS CONDITION? THE NHTSA NEEDS TO PROTECT THOSE OF US WHO HAVE LIMITED MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION AND WHO WILL BE FORCED TO USE OUR VEHICLES, KNOWING THAT WE ARE AT RISK AS WELL AS THOSE AROUND US. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION. I RECOMMEND THAT FCA BE REQUIRED TO DISABLE THIS 'SAFETY'FEATURE, ORDER THE PARTS TO FIX IT ASAP INSTEAD OF KICKING THE SAFETY CAN DOWN THE ROAD FOR THE OWNERS TO DEAL WITH LATER AND AT THEIR EXPENSE. A CAREFUL READING OF THIS NOTICE IS CONVINCING EVIDENCE THAT THIS IS FCA'S STRATEGY TO AVOID THE COSTS OF AN IMMEDIATE REPLACEMENT OF THEIR FAULTY COMPONENTS. I, AS WELL AS OTHERS, ARE COUNTING ON THE AGENCY TO PROTECT US FROM THIS THINLY DESIGNED SCAM AND SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. 2010 DODGE TOWN & COUNTRY AIR BAG LIGHT ON WHICH CAUSES HORN NOT TO WORK AN CRUISE CONTROL. *TR
THE BACK SEATS HAVE NO SAFETY DESIGN WHATSOEVER. I WAS IN THE BACK TRYING TO INSTALL A CARSEAT IN THE ONE SEAT AND PUSHED THE BUTTON TO FOLD THE BENCH INTO NORMAL USE POSITION AND IT STARTED UP NORMAL, AND A TINY BIT OF THE CARSEAT WAS BUMPING INTO IT WHEN IT GOT STUCK, I ATTEMPTED TO PUSH IT BACK TO THE LEFT SIDE DOWN POSITION AGAIN TO REMOVE THE SEAT AND IT REFUSED TO STOP... IT KEPT GOING AFTER PUSHING IT 10+ TIMES AND EVENTUALLY STARTED GRINDING AND THEN CONTINUED TO TWIST THE LEFT SIDE METAL BRACKET THAT HELPS THE SEAT MOVE. IT NOW WILL NOT GO UP AGAIN AND I AM TERRIFIED TO EVEN HAVE A CHILD SEATED BACK THERE AFTER SEEING HOW NEGLECTFUL THE DESIGN IS TO SAFETY FOR THE THIRD ROW SEATING.

PAYLESS AUTO SALES IN TACOMA, WASHINGTON SOLD THE VAN TO ME. CHRYSLER IN TACOMA ALSO BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA FAILED TO REPAIR THE AIR BAGS, AND MOST OF THE REPAIRS THEY PERFORMED.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2002 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. POLICE AND FIRE REPORTS WERE FILED. THERE WERE NO IMMEDIATE INJURIES; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE WENT TO THE DOCTOR TWO DAYS LATER FOR NECK PAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000. UPDATED 01/04/17*LJ ACCORDING TO THE POLICE REPORT, THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT THE TOP OF THE DRIVEWAY WITH THREE CHILDREN INSIDE. ONE OF THE OCCUPANTS WAS SITTING IN THE DRIVER SEAT WHEN HE KNOCKED THE VEHICLE OUT OF GEAR AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN ROLLING DOWN A HILL, AT WHICH POINT TWO OF THE OCCUPANTS JUMPED PUT OF THE REAR HATCH OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE CROSSED OVER THE CURVE IN THE DRIVEWAY AND STRUCK A BOULDER BUT CONTINUED TO ROLL DOWN THE HILL UNTIL STRIKING A TREE AND BECOMING LODGED IN THE TREE. UPDATED 03/08/17.*JB
TAKATA RECALL. AT APPROXIMATELY 0850 MOUNTAIN STANDARD TIME ON 12 JAN. 2016 THE IDENTIFIED VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A BROADSIDE ACCIDENT IN RUIDOSO, N.M. REPORT TAKEN BY RUIDOSO POLICE DEPARTMENT. THE CHRYSLER T&C WAS IMPACTED ON THE RIGHT SIDE STARTING AT THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR AND IMPACT CONTINUED REARWARD THROUGH THE RIGHT CARGO DOOR, RIGHT REAR WHEEL WELL. AND CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT REAR CORNER OF THE VEHICLE. THE ROOF IN THE AREA OF THE CARGO DOOR IS DISTORTED AND THE LOWER DOOR FRAME IS BUCKLED THE "B" PILLAR IS BUCKLED INWARD TO THE RIGHT FRONT SEAT AND THE "C" PILLAR IS BUCKLED INWARD. THE INTERIOR PLASTIC BODY PANELS SHATTERED WITH THE IMPACT, RIGHT REAR WINDOW AND FRAME WERE POPPED OUT OF THE BODY. AFTER INITIAL IMPACT FROM THE SECOND VEHICLE THE T&C SPUN 90 DEGREES AND IMPACTED A DITCH AND SNOW BANK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH ENOUGH FORCE TO RELEASE THE ENGINE COOLANT. NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE ACCIDENT WAS ON A CITY STREET AT A "T"INTERSECTION WITH THE OTHER VEHICLE HAVING A STOP SIGN WHICH HE FAILED TO OBSERVE POSSIBLY DUE TO ICY CONDITIONS ON THAT STREET.. COUNTRY CLUB STREET SPEED LIMIT 30MPH SPEED OF T&C ABOUT 25MPH. SPEED LIMIT ON INTERSECTING STREET 25MPH. SPEED AT IMPACT OF SECOND VEHICLE UNKNOWN BUT DUE TO AMOUNT OF DAMAGE MAY HAVE BEEN OVER THE SPEED LIMIT

LOST VEHICLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WHEN I WENT OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD, ON HIGHWAY US-1 IN SAINT AUGUSTINE, FLORIDA. I PULLED OVER AND STOPPED THE VEHICLE. THEN RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND DROVE OFF. BUT THIS HAPPENED TWICE. SECOND TIME, I HAD TO WIGGLE THE KEY IN THE IGNITION, TO GET THE IGNITION TO START THE VEHICLE AGAIN.

OUR AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND I HAD DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSE THE MINIVAN. TO MY SURPRISE THE CAUSE OF THE LIGHT ACCORDING THE DEALERSHIP IS WHEN DRIVER HAD MOVED THE SEAT BACKWARD THE WIRES GOT DAMAGED AND THAT CAUSED THE AIR BAG LIGHT TO COME ON. ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE ADVISER JAY AT ED VOLYES CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE DEALERSHIP FIX WAS TO REPLACE WIRES AS AIR BAG WILL NOT FUNCTION IN CASE OF ACCIDENT. DEALERSHIP CHARGED FOR 3 HOURS OF LABOR AND DIAGNOSIS CHARGES PLUS PART. PROBLEM COULD COME BACK AGAIN FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND AS SEATS ARE DESIGNED SO WE CAN MOVE IT AROUND (FRONT, BACK, UP, DOWN, ETC) ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING LONG DISTANCE AND IF YOU TAKE A BREAK TO RELAX. I THINK CHRYSLER SHOULD BE PAYING FOR WORK AND DOING RESEARCH ON WHY THIS HAPPENING.
VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WITHOUT WARNING DURING OPERATION. AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 3.5 MILES VEHICLE SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF A LEFT HAND TURN THROUGH AN INTERSECTION. RADIO REMAINS ON, BUT ENGINE, POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES STOP WORKING, TRACTION CONTROL DASH LIGHT ILLUMINATES. ELECTRONIC KEY APPEARS TO STILL BE IN THE RUN POSITION, AND THE VEHICLE CAN BE RESTARTED BY SHIFTING TO NEUTRAL AND TURNING KEY TO OFF POSITION AND BACK TO START. HAS HAPPEN MULTIPLE TIMES, TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO IDENTIFY A PROBLEM. CHRYSLER ALSO REFUSED TO MENTION OR ACKNOWLEDGE EXISTING RECALL FOR WHAT APPEARS TO BE THIS EXACT PROBLEM BECAUSE THIS VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED A FEW DAYS OUTSIDE THE EFFECTIVE DATES OF THE RECALL. *TR
